Divi,

For some reason the war looked hodge-podge. Well the chief reason Jalaal wanted Chittorgadh fort was because of its strategic position.

You mean- it wasn't to take revenge on God? 😆

But in the series it looks like he's hunting for Rana Udai Singh and Kunwar Pratap. Why do something like that, when he himself wanted to have talks with them a few days back is unclear.

Exactly- it is a personal vendetta story

Is show ka bhagwan hi malik hai.

Why Blame Bhagwan ... it is the CVs 😆

Today's episode is depressing. You have to repeatedly check that this an episode of Jodha Akbar being aired on ZEE and not a program on a rival channel.

All the images of religious harmony, of co existence that you described have been wiped out in one episode. The damage done to this serial and to Akbar is so severe I don't know how it can be set right. Akbar has now become a psychopath, totally without empathy. How can that be undone?

In most serials, you protect the hero, you show him in positive light. If the movie Jodha Akbar did not show it nor the serial Akbar the Great, then why show it now in this serial. What did this horrific depiction achieve?

If it so important to show it then hisory should have been followed. An imperialist campaign not a personal vendetta.

It is almost as if they are being asked to destroy Akbar to get benefit in other serials or movies.

I really don't know what to say ... maybe others don't care and will forget it that he did it in personal grief

But why send Jalal so much to the pits to bring him back

well it can be viewed in 2 ways. in reality jalal attacked chittor to expand his kingdom & since his opponents were as strong as him so he wanted to win it at any cost. it was mixed with political & egoistic issues. chittor war was such tht noone can give any justifications, though i firmly believe history & the evidences r always biased & noone will actually try to see things from akbar's point of view or noone will remember tht the jaimal who was killed was actually no.1 enemy of MP just like adham was for jalal, but still wht happened was certainly brutal. here EK maybe tried to give a justification tht whtever happened it happened in the heat of the moment bcoz of his extreme anger & not bcoz of his ambitions. obviously, brutality cant be justified with any reason & maybe thts why they r trying to take ashoka route to remain neutral towards both the sides. one point to mention, real jalal or reel jalal never told to harm the women but evrything happened in a flow. since the war got brutal tht jauhar happened.

I know exactly what you mean ... or it could as simple as showing Jalal completely in the pits to have him hauled back you know how

But the reactions to the episode are what scare me more than the episode itself

i think Ekta's creative team are smoking the made in China wala pot and weed...and this is the after effect of the delusion ..it is all about knee jerk effect for them ..who cares about any image or moral responsibility as long as numbers just keep coming in...

they will take him to the extreme and them make him repent to the extreme and once more wanting to give up his throne and then all will forgive him till the next calamity strikes...

Just hope they dont end up showing jalal killing the child..if not ..no one can forgive him..he killed many..ok..agreed..he killed many innocent souls..soldiers..but killing a small kid..wats the differnece between kasim and him... cv's have butchered this entire choittor war and connected it with twins death...just hope he comes back to his senses before killing the kid...varna no one il be able to forgive him..

We know he was forgiven in multiple dimensions in real life ... let us see how it plays out

Divi, fantastic post...u actually covered everything...
good thing is the war was quite well shot but they showed many things which never happened...what happened then were-
1. Jalal didnt fight except killing one sipahi.
2. jauhar happened at night.
3. Jaimal was hit by Jalal's bullet at night while inspecting repairs of fort walls.
4. Fort gates of Chittor remained intact in a siege of 4 months.
(credit- Abhay)

but this is NR and we have to accept it...when the whole purpose of the war is changed then these li'l things actually dont matter.

I only hope Jalal doesnt kill the baby which I believe he wont..if he does I dont know how will I react..may be I will lock myself up just like him.

I will end my post saying the war hasn't finished yet nor the track..sometimes its hard to pass judgement until u see the whole picture.
