Most healed wounds - when you scratch them, even if lightly- begin to bleed again. That is my take on EK choosing to show the Chittor War in such a manner in today's day and age.

I actually do not know much of the war ... but I would like to know who can state that they know for a fact what happened? History, is and always biased by perspective.

And since when is this serial about what happened? So, why could the CVs not NR out this incident?

A war is always bad ... there is always a loss of life. We have seen it when the Mughal forces attacked Amer, we have seen it in the Mirchi War. So, why is war seeming so bad today?

Because there was this beautiful image of religious harmony in this show ... a Mughal emperor who:
- Bent down in front of Devi Maa
- Who viewed this land as much of his own as anyone else as he defended what he did in the Mandir
- Who abolished the Pilgrimage tax ... saying when nature did not discriminate why should they
- Who abolished the Hindu tax

And it was all destroyed- not to expand his empire, not to secure his empire, not to crush his enemies ... but out of sheer personal vengeance?!? What is that supposed to show?

In a time where the world is more integrated than ever, but more in tumult then ever ... today's episode was just a wrong sign ...

I wish the CVs knew that history should not be used to create divide between who was right and who was wrong ... because history is to learn from not to repeat.

And with that, I wanted to share my favorite song on peace ... Vellai Pookal from Kannathil Muthamittal ...

Vellai Pookkal Ulagam Engum Malaravae

Let white flowers bloom everywheere

Vidiyum Boomi Amaithikaaga Vidigavae

When the sun rises, let it dawn for peace

Mann Mael Manjal Velicham Vizhugavae

Let the sunlight shine on our hearts

Malare Sombal Murithu Ezhugavae

Let the flowers raise from laziness

Or rather the CV's laziness ... as this track was just careless and dangerous writing.

I would recommend watching this song if you have not: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjMs_imWkFM

Because today's episode pushed all the wrong buttons ... and it shouldn't have

Divi,
For some reason the war looked hodge-podge. Well the chief reason Jalaal wanted Chittorgadh fort was because of its strategic position.

But in the series it looks like he's hunting for Rana Udai Singh and Kunwar Pratap. Why do something like that, when he himself wanted to have talks with them a few days back is unclear.

Is show ka bhagwan hi malik hai.

Today's episode is depressing. You have to repeatedly check that this an episode of Jodha Akbar being aired on ZEE and not a program on a rival channel.

All the images of religious harmony, of co existence that you described have been wiped out in one episode. The damage done to this serial and to Akbar is so severe I don't know how it can be set right. Akbar has now become a psychopath, totally without empathy. How can that be undone?

In most serials, you protect the hero, you show him in positive light. If the movie Jodha Akbar did not show it nor the serial Akbar the Great, then why show it now in this serial. What did this horrific depiction achieve?

If it so important to show it then hisory should have been followed. An imperialist campaign not a personal vendetta.

It is almost as if they are being asked to destroy Akbar to get benefit in other serials or movies.

Divi, I am going to be very short here - to me this epi seemed more like a propaganda - and a very dangerous one at that as well as being tasteless - beyond this I will say no more - as they say - samajhne waale samajh jaayenge

Divi..i was numb..i dont no who is right who is wrong..dont no wat happened in 15th century..dont no how people were killed brutually...dont no if mughals were correct or rajvanshi's..coz i was not born at that time..but i liked rajvanshi's loyalty and thr wifes were so brave..not even cried or worried about thr husbands..but bravely committed jauhar..not only men but also women too proved as brave warriors..

Just hope they dont end up showing jalal killing the child..if not ..no one can forgive him..he killed many..ok..agreed..he killed many innocent souls..soldiers..but killing a small kid..wats the differnece between kasim and him... cv's have butchered this entire choittor war and connected it with twins death...just hope he comes back to his senses before killing the kid...varna no one il be able to forgive him..
