They are making the war Rajvanshi vs Mughal (thankfully, didn't start talking of Hindu Vs Muslim) and of personal vendetta... how can one not discuss politics, history or religion in a serial (and specifically a track) that is precisely showing JUST that now! 😕 Anyway, I did try keeping out history (no historian myself and religion from my post... shall edit whatever more I should if needed)
Please mods don't shut this thread...

Alexander the Great was known to have ruthlessly murdered all of his rivals to the crown. This ruthlessness - where he showed no sympathy to his rivals - would contribute to the biggest Empire in the world at one point. He was a great commander, arrogant, extremely short-tempered and believed he was near-God!

Why was he awarded the GREAT tag -

Within 33, he conquered most of the world, never lost a battle, led his battles, was philosophical and spread his love for Greek culture through his Kingdoms through his love for Greece.

(Chanakya) Kautilya didn't just destroy the Nanda king - his personal vendetta was to have the entire Nanda dynasty abolished. Which means wives and kids also (if any would have been done with, right?)
Why was CGM/Kautilya great - I don't think this page would suffice if I started

Ashoka tho we all know he started his imperial ambitions as a ruthless conqueror who then went on to settle down...and MANY of those who perished in these wars were civilians... not only soldiers..
Yet, he became Great - again a page would possibly not suffice!

And people like Genghis Khan and Timur the Lame are 😲... Akbar is nothing in the 'ruthless' scale.

Atrocity is atrocity. Civilians and children are killed even by the 'developed' West in 21st century precision warfare today
The CVs should know what they're trying to show. Without concentrating on the true reasons why an Emperor was awarded the 'Great' tag you show a half-baked version of him in love and then suddenly the utterly cruel baby-killing side of his - [which our historians here like Kamal/Abhay etc have not claimed as true version of events, then people are not going to relate.]

The viewers are not here to see child-killing. [Yes the kid's not dead - and hopefully will not suffer this fate at Jalal's hands - but it was shown like he was nearly driven to it.] Viewers are here to see a love story with political drama (with a few macabre incidents like adham's death possibly)

This is too much! And not even 'real' - unless you want to show how a grey-hero of a serial can go from saint to baddest-ass of the century without possibly being diagnosed as one with MPD.

I read somewhere that Jodha is always the sufferer and Jalal is always being glorified. I find it quite the opposite. Not one of Jalal's achievements or ideals (or Akbar's for that matter) has been discussed beyond a day. Whereas his lackings have always been highlighted for weeks on end track after track - elaborated on screen, dissected in the forum.
True Jodha suffers on screen - but at least, she comes out being loved by the nation. Jalal (who I wouldn't deny does suffer onscreen too) but is hated by all. Well, the CVs achieved what they wanted to.
It takes two to tango. Two to love. Two adults to make a pair. Two to write an epic love story.
This is not mother and child. This is husband and wife. Please keep BOTH leads sensible and balanced!

👏 War was a part of life in the 16th century kingdoms ...

I will come back with more later

You know the religious undertones are there ... it is quite obvious

I just don't want this thread to start into why and who started it

Lashy your post is fine

Sad to see what a once very beautiful show has become today . And even more sadder to see what Jalal has been reduced to. Haivaan to insaan & now back to haivaan & kal parson maybe back to insaan , is it an on/off switch or what, am wondering 😕 . Am still placing my trust on Jalal that nothing will happen to the kid bcos even in his preJodha days he was nevee that haivaanish . Hail Ek & her CVs & their NR 👎🏼

Wonderful post divi ,you told what precisely happened in serial ,there is nothing more to add to it .i didn't like mirchi war NR nor this one but this one has gone in really different direction which is not needed nowadays where people are ready to fight at drop of hat ,with all the knowledge one must learn but people are going in regression .
What they have done to Akbar ,I completely agree with adi and lashy here.
There is no justification to war but there is no justification to undertone either by jodha in here .akbar was great but he was human too with weaknesses of his own ,he never claimed he was god ,same goes for jodha too she was human too with her own faults .

What can one do Pals? Busy day at work ... But was shocked at the undertones so created this post

Will respond to folks when I can

But see ... We the viewers will be boiled up about this for a while ... But JJ have already moved onto their future with Salim

So, perhaps, the biggest message is take it with a pinch of salt and move on 😆

Nice post EK and her cvs shoudnt touch sensitive issue When they first mention chittore I was like hay ram why she is hell bend to show it and I mention somewhere 13k women and 40k civilians died there so she shoudnt touch such a sensitive issue for her so called trp but she did and leave bitterness in everyone but thank god she didnt show aftermath of war otherwise its would be next to impossible to redeem Jalal's character If she can skip happy moment why cant skip this one incident Akbar fought many wars so why this one potrayed Is it necessary remind people bitter past

Hi divya
Yes war is the worst image of humanity.
Btw for many reasons I've decided to stick for NR.
Now as we head for a leap
Im just way roo sad for my Jodha and Jalal.
Jodha dint really get the time for the healing.
As a mother and as a wife.
Jalal and jodha dint really get the time to reconcile and move on.
We get a salim.
I got very attached to the soap in thi s period and addicted to read posts by you all too.
Now I don't n know what to lament for.
