As for leap - I am reading the dialogues Khushi - and they tell me its happening by year end if not November - and I dont trust EK 😆

If a leap happens by year end then I expect the serial to shut shop by May. That is how pessimistic I am about JA prospects after a leap.

Too many things going against it-
1 The Salim Anarkali story is shopworn, it has been done innumerable times since Mughal e Azam. One can hardly expect it to set the cash registers ringing.

2 Anarkali is a very uninteresting character. A totally powerless individual, all the initiative will be with Salim. Things that made the Jodha Akbar story palatable like, Mughal-Rajvanshi clash of royalty, Hindu-Muslim interaction, hatred of powerful individuals gradually leading to love. All this will be absent.

3 Rajat is going to be sidelined. If a leap happens, whom among Jodha or Jalal does one think will get reduced screen time? I am willing to bet it will be Jalal. A proper depiction of a slightly villainous Jalal could be interesting, but again going by past record I expect the CV's to overdo it and make Jalal really bad. Even this bad Jalal is going to be overshadowed by Jodha, Salim and Anarkali.

4 Viewers have invested a lot if time in the Jodha Akbar story, so expect a backlash from furious fans when the leap happens. Expect a fall in TRP of atleast 30-40% and here I am assuming that both Rajat and Paridhi stay. If either of them leaves, then a much bigger fall.

Personally speaking, if I had an option between a 5 month version of the remaining events of the JA story and a stretched 1 year version, I would prefer the 5 month option. I don't think that is going to happen though, if it is 3 or 5 months left, then many important events will simply be cut off from the story.

Besides I am unwilling to accept Akbar take second billing to anyone, even his son. I started watching this serial because I love Akbar, the historical character. Now, to insinuate another to upstage him in his own serial is dishonest tactics. If Ekta and team are so desperate, they should simply shut Jodha Akbar and start a new serial Mughal e Azam. I won't be watching that serial.

I am glad you are enjoying Airlines, Khushi. There are to be only 26 episodes, which is a good thing, and if it does reasonably well, they can have a second season, perhaps.

No, I am not writing anything there. You forget that I can't open any new IF threads given the kind attentions of the mods in this forum, and even if I could, I would not, either here or anywhere else. I watched every episode of Mahabharata and liked it a lot, but I never wrote a line in that forum. I post only when I really feel like it, and I felt like it for JA for 10 months, which for me is a record. In DKDM, even after shifting the Facebook page of the writer, Utkarsh Naithani - a very bright young man - I wrote only for 5 weeks on a single track, that of the shivansh Jalandhar. Neither before, though I had been watching the show for 9 months before the Jalandhar track, nor afterwards, though I had by then acquired a solid bunch of like-minded friends there who wanted me to continue.

So, my dear, don't look for me in the Airlines forum, or indeed anywhere else, least of all in this reformatory for juvenile delinquents.

As for 24, neither here, nor in mystery stories, am I too hung up on whodunnit. I focus more on the flow of the script, and the performances, and 24 has a very tight and coherent script, at least till now. Anil Kapoor is no Amitabh Bachchan, but the screenplay here is tighter and more plausible than in Yudh, though the performances and the character development were far superior in Yudh. Here, I do not know who thought of the chap who plays Aditya Singhania. He looks like a boxer manque. Could they not have found a better looking chap, seeing that no great acting abilities are called for? It is after all a cardboard cutout role, just like that of every single character in 24. American TV does not go in for subtlety.

Auntyyy 🤗...its always a pleasure to see u here...Thank u so much...😃

Aunty. ...frankly speaking, I have been so unhappy with our show of late that any change would be a welcome change...or so I thought...but actually, the more I think about it, the more I realise that actually the leap would indeed be suicidal for the show......yesterday was better than recent times...Today's I just saw...let's see if some major revamping takes place...

Aunty, the mods here are very sure of one thing...that IF rules can't be broken...n seeing the present state of the forum, frankly, it's not a very exciting idea to be in their shoes...tough job it must be...apart from being a thankless one...I guess I got the support here, coz I was right...SATYAMEV JAYATE ...😃

24 I had seen, Aunty...n guessed the culprit very early on...There were many unintentional clues by the director there...😳

N guess what, Aunty...im watching Airlines too...n Abso loving it!!!!...r u writing posts there???...if yes, do pm me...I would love to discuss that show with u n mandy...🥳

My dear Khushi,

I was glad to see that the Mods, or to be precise, one Mod, has defended you stoutly. As for your post, my take is the same as that I had posted on Mandy's thread. I do hope they do not attempt any such thing. Mark my words, it will be far worse than what we have now, and much closer to the standard saas-bahu format, only here it will be sasur-bahu.

Plus, they cannot make a Salim-Anarkali story an extension of Jodha-Akbar, and if they change the storyline so drastically, their core JA audience, which loves Rajat or Paridhi or both, will quit. I will, for one.

These days, the only show I look forward to, other than the rerun of 24 (which I had not seen the first time around) which ends in 4 days, is Airlines, at 9 pm every Sunday on Star Plus. Centred on a female pilot, it has so far been good fun, with 4 episodes gone. Every Sunday night, I thank Mandy for recommending it to me!

very logically put...I agree that SA is a risky proposition and it is actually JA that is being telecasted...but what else is left to show...I dont deny that last two episodes have been fantastic but I dont know how long this potrayal will last..

Personally, I would have preferred Ashwini's bowing out with MA-Jalal confrontation scene immediately after Adham's death...then MA 1-2 scenes repenting, n then MA passing away...

This current MA track, esp after the baddua, makes absolutely no sense to me at least...

But at least, the dreaded leap seems to be on hold for the time being...that's a huge relief...😊...else, it was hanging like Sharif's sword around our necks since the last couple of weeks at least...😆

Khushi I agree that Ruku did look like a maniac and frankly I as an audiance now feel uncomfortable watching this haq jataoing on Jo's child...

Anyways, leap is not happening immediately, me thinks...😃

Even I feel leap is not happening soon...SD's life has been extended ...and his evil looking father has come to take MA's place but I doubt any one could replace her...

I feel track will now go on MH turning evil and AM and MC..., may be they will add fictitious female villains to show harem as it is less expensive to show...
