Oh!!! Yes, Jodha will know but Jalal won't so MU BIG time...ek baandi ko supporting Jodha over Shehanshaah...wow!!! masaledaar track with poor Jodha bound with Rajvanshi Vachan clause, enough to run 2-3 months😛

Infact mandy, the leap is definitely slated from October - all the clues are there - MA to die next week followed by the birth and death of twins - and we already have heard of auditions for a grown up Salim - which means the actors shd be in place by mid to end October for shoots - and that would mean the epis with leap shd start airing by mid to end November - I dont think there will be anymore lingering on - the fact that we are no longer seeing any passion between the leads is also a pointer to this, is my gut feel.

Anyway, I am open to this since this will make my de-addiction to this show complete and I can actually say bye to the show and just confine myself to the forum and all of you 😃

Some people say that the serial no longer holds any interest for them and they would welcome a leap, fine, but even now the average TRP is only 20% less than what it was getting at it's peaks. A top 3 position maintained after months of trashy tracks speaks volumes of how strong the base audience is.

My feeling is this audience base will disintegrate if there is a significant leap. Anarkali is too weak a character to hold interest for long, and besides viewers have invested in Jodha Akbar, any new story with new characters will face a backlash.

The best solution even now is more romance between Jodha and Akbar, to build on viewer base and then to hold them with good drama.

Since it is an 8 PM show, not too hot a romance, give something like what was shown in old 60's or 70's hindi movies. Surely that can be managed, provided they atleast try it once.

It is very difficult to get a high ratings show, with a good international following(which somewhat balances the need of revenue from domestic sources). Now to put all that at risk by taking a leap, makes little business sense.

But as you said, it depends on the ratings. The ratings right now are satisfactory.

Imho, the only way possible to increase the romance quotient in the show between Jodha & Akbar is by replacing one of the leads...whichever lead is uncomfortable with romantic scenes...😊

Earlier, there had been a problem with a most innocent cheek kiss...recently, we saw Akbar kissing his own hand, trying to portray it as Jo's hand 🤣

The romance between our leads is getting worse by the day...n I'm finding this intolerable

I believe your gut feel is wrong. As long as the TRP's are at present level or higher there will be no leap. My gut feel always tells me to follow where the money is and not to be swayed by emotions. More money is to be made in the present setup than any leap at this moment in time.

As for the auditions, that is just one guy who recently got unemployed giving a screen test for a possible role that may open up in the future.

Nice post Mandy...got me thinking whether there will be a leap...and I feel with JA occupying the top 2 slots in TRPs since past few weeks, there may not be a leap(if the trend continues)...But you have given very valid reasons for JA having a leap.

The serial has lost its charm, and Zee does not seem to have a big problem with that. So I am sceptical about the leap to Salim-Anarkali story.
