Ayushi so true. Knowledge shared is knowledge increased.
I learnt more about Akbar from reading Abhay's threads than any book!

Every new track brought so many new questions and Abhay's answers used to give such fascinating information.

Even I, a total novice in history, can answer questions on the sticky by lifting information from Wikipedia or other websites.

Abhay's threads were questioned for authenticity and closed despite his providing references. But who is checking the authenticity of information provided on the sticky?

Yes Radhika...I worry more about false information than no information. None of us is supporting Abhay for any personal gain...most of us don't even know what he looks or sounds like...we are here to support the work that anyone with common sense can tell is authentic and sincere. We are all afraid that that a neutral writer was targeted so people with an agenda( but no proofs or references) can feed everyone their version of history. They can make up any story and fool us...thankfully the smart JA forum members could see through it. They understood that if the " no reference historians" are allowed to write any crap on sticky and episode discussion threads in the name of " freedom of speech" , then why create obstacles for sincere, authentic, well researched, referenced work to be posted? What exactly is going on here ?

Ayushi,

As always, you say the wisest thing.

Knowledge is the only thing that increases when shared. Still, people like Abhay are rare who share their knowledge freely with everyone without any thought of profit.

We ought to be proud of such members who increase the value of the forum and raise the level of its discussions to an entirely new high.

Deepika,
Wonderfully said!

Many of us are not able to engage in any research ourselves due to our preoccupations. When someone like Abhay provides us with rare knowledge freely, then it's indeed a piece of good luck!

I had absolutely no idea of JA till I started reading Abhay's threads.

Sincerely hoping his old threads re-open soon and new ones follow quickly. 😊

Firstly Happy Birthday once again, Abhay! Hope you're enjoying your day. Well ever since i came to know about this, i have been thinking about atleast one reason(given) about why this closure is valid only for Your threads. Does this mean that this forum is no more an open forum where people can express their views with regard to the shows and the things being presented to us. Does that mean that we have to silently accept whatever crap is shown in the name of creativity that too in "said historical show". Provided the makers of the show have from the start stated that the show deals with the love/real life of Jodha n Akbar. Then why can not we debate/discuss history about them? Most importantly why has these Rules been crafted after more than a year of the show's inception? This forum now appears only for members who can silently watch the show without any word of opposition like the makers have enslaved them 😳

Completely Agree Pooja...Your thoughts in blue, red, bold, echoes the sentiments of the Majority Here...Just take a stroll in the Forum after any Episode, and see what is being discussed...?. >> That Jalal is shown so and so, Jodha is shown so and so, and "Did this happen in Reality, and if this happened that what were the details..??.., and likewise almost on every thread the discussion turns HISTORICAL... !!!!! Infact, we all are here as we were attracted by the name of Akbar and Jodha..!!!...

^^ If that is the case , then the Basis of the "recent restrictions" are really beyond explanation..
After anything / or an Episode , FIRST thing asked is, "" Did this Happen Really.?. ""

I thought a lot, and could NOT conclude with surety... .. As far as we all know, every "Historical Show" is dramatized, and is different from a documentary...Had this been a Documentary, None of us would have been here...

There are people of all tastes here...Some of us watch it for Rajat and Paridhi, some for Akbar, some for knowing about his Wife-Jodha, some for entertainment ONLY, but the majority here Likes to Discuss the Historical Aspect as well and that includes our colleagues from ALL age groups...And a Discussion Forum should cater to ALL the genres...!!!..

It was the charm of Jodha - Akbar which brought us here...The Chemistry of PS and RT became a factor after the Show started...I remember reading the VERY First Posts of this Forum, when many many people wanted to watch this FOR Jodha-Akbar...Avoiding the Historical Discussions then, is certainly NOT possible..!!! This thread itself is a TESTIMONY..

This is awesome. It shows how much Abhay's threads have been appreciated. Does not this signify anything to you, MODS? Can't you reconsider your decision for revoking the so-called rule which is actually detrimental for the members?

Many members including me are suffering because of this rule. Right now, most of the the threads in first few pages of JA forum have questioned if Khyber or Atifa existed in history? If yes, then what was their role in Jodha-Akbar's lives? Even if some people PM Abhay for this question, then others won't know the answer. Even for Abhay, it would be too much for him to answer same question again and again. It would be better for him to answer in his own historical threads and MORE than that it would benefit members of JA forum.

Abhay and his co-researchers could have just researched the history and kept all the information to themselves and enlightened themselves. BUT, they decided to SHARE it with US not to benefit THEM; just so to unravel the mysteries of past and for the sheer pleasure of sharing knowledge. They could have just taken an easy route and said ok here are the references, go and read them if you want. But, What they did is comemndable. They gave References and on top of that made posts topic wise , typed all the information, shared pictures, scanned texts and answered questions, too. They made sure that the way they presented the info was engaging and interesting and NOT boring.

There is a saying "Vidhya baatne se badhthi hain, ghat thi nahin" which means Knowledge increases when it is shared, not decreased/lessened". Isn't the world and its people revolve around in finding new knowledge in any field? It is important to know your history/past so one can learn from it and make his or her future better ( this can apply to any nation and its history or people). Isn't this why schools have Hsitory as subjects, too?

Abhay's history threads have been the highlight of the Jodha Akbar forum.

We should be honored to have such talented people as Abhay who choose to spend their time researching, verifying, and providing this information with no costs attached; it increases the value of the forum. Instead, his work is dishonored here since he is not even allowed to post his own threads unlike countless other members who often do "fun" posts that are blatantly off-topic yet are allowed.

Usually rules have a purpose such as a greater good they aim for but in this case, it seems that this rule exists just so that the forum can be governed with a high hand. How does this rule make the forum more efficient? It seems to me that members are complaining that the sticky has become a "haphazard forest" where it easy to get lost while searching for an answer. And, if an implemented rule is clearly not working, then it should be scrapped.

If there's any one good thing that has occurred as a result of this show and forum, it is the newfound appreciation of history - due to Abhay and company - that many members have gained, I included. And sidelining such historical posts and relegating them to the dustbin of a one-size-fits-all sticky is just not acceptable. Historical posts expand on onscreen goings-on and bring more enjoyment to viewings and certainly deserve their stand-alone threads.
