Women from time ancient have been great warriors and have helped their people and men brave through worst of the battles. Not that their men were not brave warriors but isnt it better to be strong than just pretty and useless. Just because Jalal was a great warrior , that did not make him omnipresent. The ladies had to defend themselves until help arrived or in this case Jalal . Not all women in the harem may have been war trained like Jodha and ruqs. But only few could not fight the army of men trying to loot them..They had to find devious ways for other women in the harem to help them , hence the mirchi idea. Does that not bring us to the thought of why women carry pepper spray in their purse today.. Dont we have men in our lives to protect us??

Other than Nur Jahan leading army to help captive Jehangir and shezadi jani daughter of dara sikoh leading mughal army to defeat deccan ruler on behalf of her husband there are no instances of mughal women ever going to war field.
During Babar and Humayun time women were more free and travelled with their husbands openly and to war fields

But with Akbar the strict purdah and isolation system started where women had to stay in purdah and no paraya mard(not even relatives only son, husband, father and brother) could see/speak with them. Hence the powerful nur jahan(the most powerful empress among mughals and among indian queens) also used her brother asaf khan and khurram to carry out her work.

So to show the same Akbar's begums going to war field in warrior dress is historically wrong. I doubt they could actually leave their tents also because of strict pardha and ghunghat system. Majority mughal emperors left their family not in war field tents but very far off tents or in palaces near the place and went to war and returned back after end of day.
Yes women have defended themselves against attackers but not mughal women. They usually had strict pardah rules then and could not even leave their palaces/tents so fighting enemy is very far off.

Regarding pepper spray we cannot compare 21st women to those time women. Nowadays girls work, earn, feed family, do jobs that were usually male dominated like astronaut, soldier, police etc. So they have to go out alone to do all this and men cannot come everywhere and be self reliant and take care of themselves. That is not case of 16th century.

noone is disregarding women. women protecting themselves r not wrong, but if evrything is done disregarding akbar, its certainly not acceptable. jalal cant fight abul mali soldiers, he was caught so easily, but the begums will fight & win against same soldiers is not believable & we r not talking about any random man but akbar who was a gr8 warrior. anyways, regarding women fighting ok jodha had learnt sword fighting & ruku also had defeated benz but how come others learnt sword fighting so soon??? all of them r inexperienced & except jodha none of them had ever fought so how come they can fight a whole army?? im also a working woman & self-dependent but this show is simply degrading the male lead of the show. & i may sound as a hypocrite but degrading akbar to uplift his begums is not acceptable for me. no doubt jodha had gone to wars with akbar, but thts not bcoz he was weak.

I really appreciate what you have written. One must not jump to conclusions before seeing the whole thing play out. I don't why everybody is thinking that Jodha and her troupe will win over Mali's soldiers. It could also be that they were holding them off for a few minutes and Jalal might actually come to their rescue with his soldiers. Mali will be cornered in their camp. Even the cvs know that showing women winning over them will be a very unusually foolish depiction...so they won't do that. The sad thing is we need to learn to be more patient. And even in the end, if we are not satisfied with the outcome, I don't exactly see why people must mourn it. It's a show, watch it if you like it, or else ignore.

Konron, this is for you: 👏👏👏

thankyou verymuch for expressing what is in my mind for the past two months regarding viewing the show with lot of negativity. atleast those who are not at all happy with the show can leave the people who like it to enjoy without spoiling their mood. i already read in the forum about people opting for someother shows which give them sukoon.

Jalal did not lose to AM or his soldiers. He gat caught by AM Shenu plot. I am actually happy they are showing women fight for their dignity instead of Jauhar or poison. If women defend themselves how is that an insult to Akbar?
Akbar is great in his own right, and portrayal of his greatness does not need showing his harem ladies as abla naaris!!!

A clarification for those who do not know or do not want to know - Akbar was never ever defeated in any war / battle that he personally fought - and many of them he fought with a force much smaller than his opponents - and yes he was human...but...but...but... he was unbeaten and never captured and that is a recorded fact - and never was there a need for any of his Begums to fight any war either for him or with him or on his behalf.
