Jalal, you are human!

Back to the US and on the train to work; finally caught up with episodes and some random musings:

Dear Jalal (or rather the CVs that write for Jalal),

I understand you are a human. You have the right to be conflicted about attacking your sister. You can share your fears on losing and seek comfort with your wife. You can be worried about the future of your family and baby's life. You can do all of that.

But, you cannot let this come in the way of your duty as a Shehenshah and you have never in the past. If you look at your own glory, you will see the answer to your fears.

Worried about attacking loved ones and near ones? You have been betrayed by family multiple times. Near ones does not equal love. So, what is this love that conflicts you on Nigar? Did Nigar bat an eye lid when Rahim was about to die? Is she going to be pained at killing your soldiers and your awaam? To protect yourself from the pain of attacking one family member who has tried to kill you, you are going to risk the lives of your family, your loyal soldiers, and your awaam? When you were able to punish Maham Anga who saved your life for what she did to Jodha Begum, why not Nigar? Where did that anger go when you saw Nigar tying Jodha and running with Rahim? What has changed? Nigar is not your personal enemy for you to forgive like you did Abul Mali and Sharifudin- she has wronged the state, Rahim, Todarmal and many others. You cannot let her go on their behalf. Jaago Shehenshah.

Since when was being outnumbered a matter of worry? You saved Abdul from the prison in Amer and you destroyed Abul Mali and his henchman singlehandedly. You even defeated a tiger with a mere dagger. What has changed? You yourself with josh told Todarmal and Atgah that more than numbers it was strategy that mattered. What has changed? Sure you can have fears, but that should not paralyze you from devising a strategy to save your people and lead with determination. Jaago Shehenshah.

Worried about the future of your family and your unborn baby? What will that future be if Nigar attacks and you do not go to defend at war? You yourself know Nigar will attack the harem or else you would not take the harem with you. So, what did you expect if you did not go to war? You went after Raja Ramachandra for attacking your Jodha Begum. Now your entire sultanate is in danger. What has changed? Get ready for the battlefield. Jaago Shehenshah.

Shehenshah, your Awaam just gave you the title Akbar for your broad mindedness and reforms. What is the point of reforms to improve the lives of people if those very lives are in danger? Jaago Shehenshah.

If the attire of soldier can get the Shehenshah back, wear it and Jaago Shehenshah.

In conclusion: More than Jaago Shehenshah it should be Jaago CVs. They have been so inconsistent with Jalal's character as of late that I felt like writing them this letter.

I am fine with a human Jalal- he was human but not at the cost of being Akbar the Shehenshah which is how the history books remember him and always will.

From my mobile so apologies for any typos and lack of formatting.

Great to see you back and posting.
Jalal raised a very interesting point today, that he would become a Jallad once he wore the body armour, then he would spare no one.

I know this to be true. Psychologists have often wondered why so many good people in Germany committed horrific atrocities during the 2nd world war. One explanation is that once they wore their uniform their personality underwent a change. This was confirmed by the famous prison experiments of the 1970's.

In this experiment a group of students was divided into two groups, prison guards and prisoners. The prison guards were given uniforms and the authority of their real life counterparts. Very soon in the experiment, the Prison guard students got into their role and started abusing the prisoner students, the experiment had to be called off early because of the extant of the abuse.

Why did he not want war? Not wanting to fight his Aapa, not wanting bloodshed of soldiers who are relatives of someone (then how come he forgave Suja who killed so many brothers, sons and shohars and made a cone out of them?) or as he didn't have sufficient army? Why does he keep changing reasons?

His peace message was not unacceptable. But his contradictory statements and his weepy face certainly was. When he stood before the war costume, it gave the impression that he was weary of wearing it. Even when he left for the war, he looked reluctant. His eyes had the expression 'won't anyone stop me?'
Why would a praja loving Emperor be so weary of saving the praja?

Welcome back! Look forward to your regular updates. Very impressive if you typed all of that on a mobile phone.

For me the recent episodes have been mediocre at best. We have been seeing Jalal's dil-driven personality far too long, it is time for the Emperor to return. This weepy whiny look is not endearing and does not seem real or convincing.

The CVs dedication to MA and AK characters is mind boggling. Besides the screen space and time they hog, it is simply unreal how they are able to continue conspiring right under Jalal's nose, including fatal attacks on his soldiers. It has made the whole thing unconvincing and annoying.

When we were introduced to HQ, the current abba-huzoor, he was afraid of MCB, a marginal provincial chief in Kabul. However, now his army is so powerful that it is about to run over the Mughal Empire's capital, put the Emperor in chains, and enslave his harem? Akbar and his commanders, who are well informed about MCB and AM's trechery, have left their capital so vulnerable?

It is beyond stupid, beyond funny. I don't think there is any room for intelligent viewers in this serial for the moment.

End of venting. 😊 Welcome back!

Added Later: Temporarily I am withholding judgment on how weak Jalal and Mughal armies are being depicted. Mansi has gotten some info which makes her suspect that all of this is part of a teda chaal. Please see:

Well said Divya.. Somehow I feel Jalal has hesitated much waging a war now than fighting against his Khan baba which shouldn't be the case..
