Hi All- thanks for the warm welcome back. I have still not watched Thursday's episode but looks like the warrior Jalal is back. And that is exactly the issue, some days the CVs blow Jalal hot and sometimes cold.

I loved it when Jalal told TM and Atgah that the size of the army does not matter; it is the strategy earlier this week. But then he was lamenting he will lose. I hear the new theory that he is trying to trick the enemy but I am not sure why he has to scare Jodha in the process by confiding in her one in one if the plan is to scare the enemies.

I think we can all understand that the real Jalal had a human side with fears and weaknesses but the CVs just need to learn to balance it with his strengths as well.

Look forward to seeing Rajat's Jalal on the battlefield! This is his chance to shine and I hope the CVs take advantage of it.

Divya,
Very good post,And yes where did his humanity go when he was at war with other people like Hemu ? They were also somebody's husband, father ,brother etc and why so partiality with Shenu. This reminds
me of a story of judge.Once there was a judge who was well known for right and correct judgement. He had given many death sentences to murderers. One day ,when his own son was brought in front of him under the charge of murder and it was found out that his son was truly guilty .At that time the judge announced that Death sentence is inhuman. And murders are committed under sudden charge of negative emotions.
Aren't we seeing the glimpse of this judge here?

What kind of emperor and protector on his awaam, of whom he talks in every other sentence, is this? If every soldier whose wife is expecting refused to go to war, where would the army be? This is the ruddy limit as far as Jalal is concerned. 😡
I agree!
Then I remembered the old story about the queen of Rana Chundawat, who was so obsessed with her that he refused to go to war even though his kingdom was in dire danger from the enemy. She cut off her head and sent it to him on a platter to tell him to forget about her and do his duty. And he did then go to war, apparently.
😲

Not that one wants such drastic measures, but Jalal sorely needs a solid call to action in the seat of his jama or whatever it is. Preferably with hobnailed boots.

Now, we are going to be subjected to this latest promo, a la Gabbar's den Sholay, which I saw last night. It did the near impossible, it rendered me speechless. I did not think even Balaji could sink so low. Unless, of course, it is Abul Mali's fantasy, which I devoutly hope it is!
🤣

Already, it was bad enough to see a Jalal almost afraid of going to war, with such a dismal, depressed face, and this NOT because he does not want to fight his beloved, murderous Nigar Apa,but because he was practically sure he was going to lose. It was the pits to see him declaring this to Jodha, and adding that he might well die in the battle. What a way to keep up the spirits of his womenfolk!😡

The only saving grace on Wednesday was the gallantry of Ruqaiya, sending Jalal off to Jodha for the kind of peace and rest he needs before a battle.

That scene was so good aunty... they really do see-saw with her characterization so much I don't even know what to say... I think when it becomes sultanat and emperor, she becomes all empress.. but at the harem, she's back to her opiate influenced brain cells... 😆

Not that this is going to do much for this wetrag of an emperor, already weeping at his anticipated loss. Shivaji Maharaj, if he were not 2 centuries later, could have taught Jalal how to win a battle with a tenth of the enemy's strength in men. And this was supposed to be the great conqueror of over half of Hindustan? Akbar must be whirling in his tomb at Sikandra at such blasphemy.

And to top all this,we are now apparently going to have a repeat of Dharmendra in Sholay, bar Jodha getting up and dancing on broken glass a la Hema Malini. It looks exactly like that, though Gabbar Singh would take strong exception to being compared to the one-eyed wonder, he of the horsehair wigs, Abul Mali. Oh God, what is this show coming to? 😡😡

One good thing is that I do not have to waste time commenting on this asinine rubbish. My advice to all of you who might read this: Do NOT waste your non-renewable time and your hard earned money calling Zee. They must have shot 2 weeks worth of episodes already and they will air them.

Nothing in the least is going to change, and unless someone files a court case and challenges this depiction of Akbar. As no one is going to do this, nothing can be done to stop such vile distortions. If Ekta tried any such uchit natakiya rupantar with Shivaji Maharaj, Balaji Studios would have heen ransacked by rampaging mobs. But who cares about poor Akbar the Great? Only some odd historians, and they are not about to come out of their ivory towers and protest.

😭

Better go and rewatch Jodhaa Akbar the movie once more, as I am doing now.

Divya dear, it is good to know that you have got safely back home.

Welcome back! Look forward to your regular updates. Very impressive if you typed all of that on a mobile phone.

For me the recent episodes have been mediocre at best. We have been seeing Jalal's dil-driven personality far too long, it is time for the Emperor to return. This weepy whiny look is not endearing and does not seem real or convincing.

The CVs dedication to MA and AK characters is mind boggling. Besides the screen space and time they hog, it is simply unreal how they are able to continue conspiring right under Jalal's nose, including fatal attacks on his soldiers. It has made the whole thing unconvincing and annoying.

When we were introduced to HQ, the current abba-huzoor, he was afraid of MCB, a marginal provincial chief in Kabul. However, now his army is so powerful that it is about to run over the Mughal Empire's capital, put the Emperor in chains, and enslave his harem? Akbar and his commanders, who are well informed about MCB and AM's trechery, have left their capital so vulnerable?

It is beyond stupid, beyond funny. I don't think there is any room for intelligent viewers in this serial for the moment.

End of venting. 😊 Welcome back!

Added Later: Temporarily I am withholding judgment on how weak Jalal and Mughal armies are being depicted. Mansi has gotten some info which makes her suspect that all of this is part of a teda chaal. Please see:

Teda Jalal has gone with the wind. We expected him to have plan B,plan C,plan D in Tasneem track. All he did was hide behind the lattice and watch Ruqaiyya speak to the awaam as per the instructions of Jodha, the G.
We expected him to have some idea of Ben.but actually he was such a dumbo that he allowed her to almost kiss him fatally, he allowed her to smuggle a trunk full of snakes into his palace (so much fo the safety arrangements), abul mali escaped his prison...in short he was a fool and Jodha the mahaan as usual.
The TodarMal track was worse. Both Jo and Jalal were fools and yet Jodha was claimed mahaan. And now...what a weepy whining, whimpering Emperor on the eve of war. And kept giving contradictory reasons...not wanting to fight his Aapa, not having enough forces, not wanting bloodshed of soldiers who may be brothers, husbands and sons.😲
So no expectations of any sensibility, let alone tedapan from him.

If this is supposed to be 'well shot' war sequence then I wonder what is 'badly shot'?!?!?!

And EK and Zee are going to seriously show Akbar being captured and Jodha coming to save him?!?!?! - Zee deserves to loose all their audience and EK deserves to end up closing her PH for this sacrilege!!!!!

Even the Yash Chopra Mahabharat shot quarter century ago had better war sequences. There are just a dozen horses in the entire battlefield. Whatever happened to Akbar's elephant troops? Even the Parokh dandiya was better.
What did they mean by the Maha🤢 scene and the Jo-Rahim scene in between the war. The entire tempo of the war was spoilt...err...that is...whatever was shown as war.
What kind of a blinkered idiot is this Jalal, and why would he go to some 'mehfoos jagah' suggested by Nigaar Aapa and not bring her back to his encampment?
Adi, it is going to be Jodha to the rescue and motto mahaanta established. Every track in JA ever since Tasneem has only ended with Jodha Mahaan.😡

Yes I remember that as the funniest, the most hilarious moment in the serial so far.

After Jo, displaying the zeal which can inspire, shame and teach a Southern US District Attorney prosecuting young black men, gets Todarmal sentenced to death;

after Todarmal is saved from the cannon ball with milliseconds to spare;

after all this, Todarmal and his wife turn to Jo with folded hands and teary eyes, and say:

Aap to badhai ki patra hain (You deserve congratulations)

Aap ke sthan par hum hote to yehi karte (In your place I would have done the same)

Aap to sabhi begamon mein sarva-shreshtha hain (Among all begums, you are the most noble)
