Minnie dear, I agree with you in toto. The analyses blaming the CVs are themselves force fits. Jodha was always "like this only".

Do see my comments above on tonight's episode, which was even more sickening than the mahaepisode. I am still livid, and more at Jalal than at Jodha, who is what she is. The precap was the most disgusting of it all.

Re: part in red, you will see that I was here, and am there of exactly the same mind as you. More so, in fact. It is my last, lingering hope, soon to be dashed as well, I am sure.

Aunty.. Many thanks for the smiles.😛 your toungue in cheek humour never fails. but alas, I am still mighty upset.

🤢Why oh why must entertainment media use a fake rape case . It is so sick that I want to do a blue, voilet, brown , green and a fake vomit in succession right at the doorstep of CVs.
Shehnaaz is one boring character. Her acting is very good for she comes across as what she intends to be.. repulsive🥱
I am in total agreement with the glaring similarities of the 2 cases. And while many here believe Jo's dialogs were to forcefit the naari Shakti theme of CVs, I believe they would have been same Naari Shakti oor Khwaja Shera Shakti or daas daasi shakti or nirdosh pashu shakti or bachpan ki akeli (petty) dost shakti!
Wish TM packs his boriya bistar and goes to some other king. No dearth of vacant good finance minister posts elsewhere. Let these 2 fend for themselves...

Of course, and this is pathetic,Ela.

And it also reflects very badly on Jodha. See, the cases of Jodha-Sujamal and Todar Mal-Shehnaaz are similar in the sense of what was seen not being what actually happened.

Jodha is still criticising Jalal (in the latest angoori bagh scene: incidentally, why is the angoori bagh looking as scruffy and ill-maintained as the JA script?😉) for having misunderstood her, in spite of the fact that the appearances were highly deceptive, and then again, Jalal repeatedly asked her to trust him with the truth but she would not.

But in the Todar Mal case, Jodha takes what was seen to be the gospel truth, with, as you pointed out so correctly, not even the slightest thought that Shehnaaz might well be what such a respectable man like Todar Mal says she is, and what the threat to Jalal's life would be if that was so.

This apart, the CVs were copying from Mughal-e-Azam at one point (Jalal's fantasy before the dhakka scene) as against from Jodha Akbar the film all the time. Now it seems they have gone back to Mughal-e-Azam, with Todar Mal being, apparently (for I am sure Jalal has cooked it up with Todar Mal) being sentenced to be blown up by a cannon, just as Salim was almost blown up in K.Asif's classic.

At this rate, how would they deal with a serial molester like Adham Khan? He can hardly be blown up repeatedly!😉

What I would like is for Todar Mal to pack his bags and go back to Mathura after this matter is cleared up. No man with any self respect would agree to stay on in Agra after this.

He should leave with the parting shot: Nari ka hi sammaan nahin hota hai, Jodha Begum, purush ka bhi sammaan hota hai. Aapne mere atmasammaan k0 asahaniya chot pahunchayi hai, aur ab hum yahan ek kshan bhi nahin rukh sakte hain.

Jodha should then have to do a Jalal, and go to Mathura to beg his pardon to his satisfaction and persuade him to come back. Not that this is likely to be anything more than a pipe dream!

My dear Khushi and Ela,

Well, your feeble hopes, and mine, have now been dashed beyond any recall.

As I had predicted to Arieltabi, Jodha was not part of any plan. She was absolutely and genuinely self-righteous and chuffed up with a sense of virtue even after Todar Mal's execution was announced by Jalal. Her face was hard and devoid of even an iota of either sympathy or regret at such a harsh punishment.

The amazing thing was that contrary to my expectations, Jalal too was absolutely sincere, and had no stratagem to save a man who had just a little while ago saved his life . He was willing to let him be blown up for, if one comes down to brass tacks, attempt at rape, not rape, and this when he is not convinced of his guilt. This is exactly like the Tasleem track, when he had NO plan B, only worse, for he is ready to take the life of a man who has saved his, just as Sujamal had. .

But Sujamal, who had entered the harem and killed dozens of Mughal soldiers while escaping, got off scot free because he had had the good luck to save Jalal's life, while Todar Mal's saving the same life apparently counted for nothing.

Then again, and Sharifuddin, who rebelled against Jalal is what was also a gunaah-e-azeem, and a far worse one, was merely imprisoned, as was Zakira for another, terrible gunaah-e-azeem, of trying (as was believed) to assassinate the emperor.

Bakshi Banu and Mahaam could both have got Jodha killed for supposed infidelity, and all they got was ostracism in the first case and even less in the second. It is all cockeyed, and utter nonsense.

Sharifuddin was then released because his wife was pregnant. So it is all Todar Mal's wife's mistake, she should have had a nadaan, paak, nirdosh balak on the way!

I had written that I would have liked her to dress Jodha down, and she did, but in far too lukewarm a manner. She should have given her a shraap. Not that even a shraap would have disconcerted this Jodha. Her face retained its expression of sulky righteouness and self satisfaction right thru that segment; it was a rigid, poor performance. It needed Kanha and the bujhe diye to give her at least a jolt.

Now my last lingering hope is that Todar Mal will quit Agra after Shehnaaz is exposed. Jodha AND Jalal deserve nothing less for their ingratitude, their propensity to bend the rules to suit themselves, and their criminally faulty sense of judgment.

Today's precap was sickening in the degree of despicable weakness sand pusillanimity shown in Jalal. An emperor, sentences a loyal minister to death on charges that he himself does not believe, and this when he has been specifically told by the ulema that he has the final word regarding the sentence.

He probably wanted to burnish his own credentials as an impartial judge at the expense off Todar Mal's life. Would he have sentenced Mirza Hakim to death on a similar charge? No.

Then stands on the terrace feeling sorry for HIMSELF, and his aching dil, that one of his azeez is going to be blown to bits on the morrow, and,get this, he can do NOTHING about it. Can anything be more disgusting?

And his beloved wife, the one who upheld nari sammaan by railroading the man who saved her husband's life to his own death, stands there with nothing to say. I wished that the storm had blown both of them off the battlements. They could then have gone to heaven (presumably) and left us in peace.

Once the truth comes out, donon ko chullu bhar pani mein doob kar marna chahiye.

This is the pits. There is no hope for this serial any more.

As for Todar Mal's idiocy in forewarning Shehnaaz, in great detail, about exactly how he planned to expose her to Jalal the next day, it was exactly like such scenes of the hero boasting to the villain in the bad Hindi films of the 1970s and 1980s. I could not believe it as I watched him blabbering out his plans for the morrow to her.

Shyamala/Aunty

Aunty... I am as exasperated as you are. I loved the mirthless humour with which you wrote!

Since when has yudhishthir's rooh entered Jalal's body . Damn, they didn't show this important bit.
Why? we have Maham who screams on top of her lungs that she has done more saazish
but Jalal does not put 2 and 2 together that last time during Ruq's miscarriage her lookalike was involved. Could that be her scheme too?

If Jalal was a regular everyday 16th century emperor, a fake-pregnant Jo would be no more. But offcourse the crime is not so bad. A poor hakima lost her life but left a clue for Jalal to get the culprit... useless sister and BIL who roams around plotting some more. No one thinks it is necessary to have him tailed !

Abul mali just lost an eye.and no it was no eye for an eye revenge. It was an eye (of mali) for the whole body(of Jalal) revenge

.but TM has to be shred to bits literally and all Jalal complains of is his bleeding heart!

You know I was silly enough to assume that today Jalal will say he wants to kill Shehnaaz right away as she has tried to twist facts and implicated an hounourable man and that she is a criminal. Offcourse the doe eyed begum will be agast. but who cares..not I...Huh.
Shehnaaz thus cornered will immediately do that precap scene of putting a dagger on Jo's neck and order Jalal to let her go. Lo her truth is out.
But no itna simple logic bhi Jalal ke pass nahi tha..

I have realised. the leads, the good folks never have plan B. And I fail to understand how TM could not arrest Shehnaaz on the same night? Surely he is a high official and has the authority... ? Wasn't he tasked with finding the actual culprit? Wasn't he the one who told a few episodes ago that he works with complete autonomy and does not appreciate 'dakhalandaazi'? To fir?
Maham is a Wazir only by title but has a retinue of soldiers and this man has none.
And TM's wife..I was expecting Draupadi style anger...

As for Jodha being gagged, for that one thing, I am prepared to forgive the obnoxious Shehnaaz a lot. If only she could have made that a permanent arrangement, I would have forgiven her all her sins!😉

Good one.May be Jalal bribed Shehnaz to do so.😉.It's a dream of every husband to see his wife's mouth sealed and closed for once atleast.

Shyamala I agree with you...there was really no sympathy on Jo's face when such harsh sentence was announced...She was absolutely normal...I feel the scene could have been acted better...She was also not feeling sad for TM's wife when she came to meet her yesterday...Jo is enjoying her so called victory...There was not a trace of self doubt when TM's wife said that she could be wrong too...

Jalal is no better...Why is he giving such a verdct of which he is himself not convinced? And then he goes crying to Jo which was even worse...Well now it is Jo's who will feel sorry for him and find out the truth abt Shenu...and thus save Jallu and TM...both will be grateful to her ...

I always knew that this was going to happen...How else can they show Jo in every frame?
