Sorry for delayed reply Ads. Was traveling last week and so cudnt respond to PMs also.
Achaa so Akbar not only had interest in listening to music, he was even talented at playing and composing songs👏. This is the first time I am hearing abt this.

The description u gave abt Tansen and his compositions are also an eye opener Ads. So Tansen did compose and sang songs for Emperor Akbar. This is totally different from wat was shown in the serial.

Thanks so much Ads for this wonderful information👏.

Looking forward for more😳

Hey adia ... sorry for the late reply ... When I read the update it was in a hurry , since my in-laws r at my home ... but today i actually read in peace ... wanted to feel HIS talent ☺️ & sink in the versatility of this great personality ... Thank you for sharing this much needed information ... I am really shocked to know that this BIG fella even used to compose music 😲...

Adia can you or somebody tell me what Akbar CANNOT DO ...??? 😆 I mean this fellow knows & mastered in almost everything, wherein a normal person takes ages to master one talent ... seriously this is commendable 👏👏 I am speechless !!!

P.s - Madame ekta kindly concentrate on other works & mastery of Akbar rather than concentrating on HIS harem matter's ... 😆

WOW! So this Great was our Akbar and achieved so much within his 64 years. (Missed this thread!😕)
Not like our Lallu Panju, rolling between his 2 begum's kwaabgahs and wading his time visiting temples, staring at the moon and sun, smiling from ear to ear when his dil-o-jaan, kwaabon ka armaan Jodha Begum condescends to look at him, and walking along the corridors in vacant and dreamy moods. (We have to remind ourselves every now and then that he is supposed to be the Shahenshah 😭)

Ahhh... finally Sandhya, you saw this thread - and this was the promise I had made to you!!!!! Did you read all of what I had posted???? There is definitely more and I will try and make one update this weekend. And the number of sources that I have which have strongly criticized the translations of Blochman and Smith are many - and they are Indian as well as European.

The book I would recommend for one to read is by Frederick Noer - a German Count who wrote on Akbar in the 1850s - The Mughal Emperor Akbar - worth reading - and he has given a number of events from Akbar's life too - and he used not only the writings of Akbar's court historians but also regional works from all of Northern India.

Another place that one can tap is Panjabi literary work and historical work where one can get info on events from Akbar's life.

Adi, I am yet to go through the PMs I received in May. So missed your post. Today it was on the first page, so jumped on to it.
Akbar's history and story never fails to fascinate. He was one of the very few foresighted, terribly courageous (it takes more courage to fight the evil in the society than fight a big army), capable person with a sense of tolerance humour and love of arts - What a man he was, and what a ruler!
