RECAP: Jodha's eyes widened in shock as she read the letter. Her hands trembled. The letter fell from her hands and immediately tears started coming from her eyes. She immediately ran fromthere, trying to hide her emotions...

PART:3

Jodha and her convoy started their journey to Agra a day later. Jodha had vowed not to eat or drink anything till she is able to comprehend the situation and understand her kanha's wish.. It was the second day of her fasting, and on top of it she is travelling from Amer to Agra.

AGRA

By now every single soul in Agra knows that their Shahenshah is going to give talaq to his Khaas Begum: Jodha. Murmurs and rumours are going from ear to ear. In the palace, many were happy regarding this decision while some were upset and angry at Jalal for not even giving her a chance of explanation. Not that they were partial to Jodha, but they felt that she couldn't do this and that she deserves a chance to give safaai, explain herself.

JALAL'S CHAMBER

Jalal had received a letter from Jodha stating that she is ready for talaq and that she is leaving for Agra the next day. He was heartbroken. He thought that atleast now Jodha would take a stand for herself and tell him the truth but no. She just agreed to his demand. Jalal took this as a proof of her being characterless.

Jalal's inner talk: So it doesn't matter to her whether she's my wife or not. She knows that she is successful in shattering me and that her revenge is completed. Now she and her so called family will lead a happy Life laughing at my foolishness!!!
Jalal banged his hand against the wall. How madly he trusted her, loved her and all she did was for revenge??

Suddenly, he heard her sweet and loving voice: Shahenshah...

Jalal's anger melted just by listening to her voice. He immediately turned around and saw her. There she stood at the entrance of his hojra, looking no less that a goddess of beauty in the royal green chaniya choli with heavy work. The emerald necklace and earrings complimented her beauty.

"My Jodha... " He whispered as he ran to the entrance. He immediately hugged her tightly. But, the moment he flung his arms around her, she disappeared... as if she was never here. Jalal was shocked as he never imagined Jodha before. "My hatred for her is to such extent that I think of her all the time?" He thought.. But he never knew that it was not his hatred, but his love for her. Pure love.

The next day...

Jodha had reached Agra after a long, tiring journey of three days( I don't know how much time it takes.. so I imagined it to be of 3 days...). All the residents of the Royal palace had gathered at the main gate to welcome the young queen, except Hamida bano and Jalal. Everyone was shocked to notice Hamida's absence. "Mariyam-Makani apni chahiti bahu ka swagat karne nahi aayi?" Whispered Pinaz begum in a taunting way. Jodha was also upset to see her missing. "Maybe she also believes that I've betrayed them.." Jodha thought as she made her way to her chamber. On her way to her chambers, she noticed some bandhis talking to each other. "Mariyam-Makani subah se roye jaa rahi hain.. Unhone kuch khaaya bhi nahi hai. Hume to bahut chinta ho rahi hai unki. Shahenshah ke ek galat faisle se sabka yeh haal ho gaya hai..",the bandhi said. "Tum sahi keh rahi ho.. Jodha begum aisee nakaari nahi karengi. Wo to kitni dayalu aur dariyadil hain. Hume lagta hai Shahenshah se hi kuch galti hui hai. Lekin hum kya kar sakte hai.Wo Shahenshah-E-Hind hai.. Aur hum mehez ek bandhi" Whispered the another bandhi.

Both were unaware of Jodha's presence. Listening to their talks, Jodha's eyes got filled up with involuntary tears. Jodha ran from there, trying to run away from the truth. The bandhis noticed her and said "Khuda in per rehem kar. Yeh paak-saaf hai. Inka aur Shahensha ka talaq na hone parvadigar. Ameen"

Hamida's chamber

Jodha wiped her tears and smiled as she greeted Hamida. She looked so pale and weak, Jodha could tell that she had not eaten anything. So she decided to cheer her up.

"Ammijaan! Humne aapki bahut yaad aayi Amer mein." Jodha said as she hugged Hamida. Hamida didn't respond to her hug. She felt that she was responsible for their talaq.

" Hume muaf kardo Jodha.. Hum tumhare gunehgaar hain. Jalal ki ammi hone ke naate bhi hum use yeh faisla lene se rok nahi paaye. Sab humari wajah se ho raha hain.. Hum muaf kardijiyega Beta." Hamida said as she broke down in front of her chahiti bahu. Jodha eyes got filled up with tears as she witnessed the terrible state of her mother.

"Ammijaan.. Hum aapki beti hain naa? Toh koi maa apni beti se kshama mangti hai? Bade to choton ko kshama karte hain, unse kshama nahi mangte. AB hum iss baare mein baat nahi karenge. Chaliye.. Hum aapko bataate hai ki humne amer mein kya kya kiya." Jodha said as she pulled her to the bed.

And they continued their sweet talks till the evening, when Jodha had to leave for the court where she and Jalal will get divorced.

"Ammijaan,Hum chalte hain.. Hume der ho rahi hain. Pranaam" Jodha said a she folded her hands into a respectful namaste.

(P.S.: I DON'T KNOW HOW PEOPLE OF MUSLIM CULTURE GET DIVORCED. I AM SERIOUSLY SORRY IF I HURTED ANYONE. I'VE SHOWED IT AS THEY WILL SAY "TALAQ " THREE TIMES AND THEY'LL GET DIVORCED.. I DIDN'T WANT TO HURT ANYONE!!! SORRY!)

Jodha and Hamida greeted everyone as they entered the hall. They took their seats and waited for Jalal to come. Jodha had promised herself that she'll not let even a single tear roll down her eyes... Even if it's the last thing she does.

Guards proclaimed the arrival of Shahenshah Jalalludin Mohammed as he entered the hall. IT had been more than a week since he had seen her, his love. He glanced at her and what he saw shocked him to core. HE saw the same Jodha which he saw on their wedding day. Her eyes were full of tears but she wasn't allowing them to come down and was striving to smile. She wore a simple blue chaniya choli with little jewellery.

He made his way to the throne and granted the maulvis the permission to proceed. After all the rituals were done, AKDHA were called in the centre on the hall. As soon as they sat there, they looked at each other with eyes full of pain, betrayal, and something else.

"TALAQ" Jalal said. Jodha knew this would happen today but could not control herself. A lone tear trickled down her eye, she broke her promise. But she quickly wiped it off

" TALAQ" Jodha replied as the maulvis looked at her.

Now it was the time for their final decision. "The final word "TALAQ " will decide their fate." Everyone in the hall thought. But destiny had it's own plans.

Maulvis looked at her and asked whether she wants talaq, Jodha replied:"TALAQ"
The maulvi turned and fixed his gaze on Jalal.

Jalal was about to say but suddenly someone amongst the crowd shouted... "RUKIYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Jodha turned and saw Sujamal standing in the crowd! OMG! This was enough for her to have a heart attack! Jalal also looked at the him and immediately recognized him as the person Jodha used to meet. HE raised his shamsheer to behead him when suddenly Jodha whispered something that shocked him to the core.

"Bhaisaa..." Jodha uttered.

Jalal's heart stopped beating. His mind stopped working. All he could see was that the person Jodha used to meet was her own brother, Sujamal!

"Bhaisaa.. aap yahaan? Humne kaha tha na aapse yahanse chale jaaiye. Shahenshah aapko mrityu dand de denge Bhaisaa Jaaiye yaahan se!" Jodha shouted as she pushed Sujamal.

"Apni behen ka suhaag bachane ke liye agar hume apne praan bh ityaagne pade to hume swayam par garv hoga Jodha!" Sujamal said in a calm tone.

By now everyone in the hall was shocked. Someone dared to stop shahenshah from giving his begum talaq and she is addressing him as her Bhaisaa?

Jodha knew that it was no use talking to Sujamal. He was a rajvanshi. He would always protect his dignity and respect more that his life. She turned to Jalal and requested him with folded hands, "Shahensha.. kripya humare bhaisaa ko jaane dijiye. Unhone... unhone ye sab keval aapke pran bachane ke liye kiya tha. Unhone hume vachan diya tha Shahenshah ki vo humare suhaag ki humesha raksha karenge.. Aapka koi apna hi aap par prahaar karne ka shariyantr rach raha tha. Bas use vifal karne hi unhone hume bulaaya tha. Aap hume dand de dijiye kintu unhe kshama kar dijiye." Jodha forgot all her rajput aan,baan,shaan for her brother.

Jalal turned to Sujamal and said.. "Tum Jodha begum ke bhai Sujamal ho naa... Tum..Tum Jodha begum se milne chori chupe kyon aaye the?" In his own lost world, he forgot that he had ordered his soldiers to kill Sujamal wherever they spot him.

"Shahenshah shayad aap bhul rahe hain ki aapke sainiko ko hume maarne ka aadesh mila hai. Hume apne praan gavane ka bhay nahi hain kintu hum Jodha ko diye vachan ko nibhaaye bina praan nahi tyaag sakte the.. isi karan humne use milne ke liye bulaya." He turned to Jodha and continued..." Jodha humne tumhe vachan diya tha ki tumhare suhaag ki raksha karenge.. TO aaj tumhare aur Shahenshah ka talaq hum kaise hone dete?"
Jodha was way too shocked to listen to anything. Her mind was not working. She was not in her senses. Her vision started to blur. And there she fainted. Jodha was about to fall on the ground but Jalal caught her on time.

"Jodha begum... kya ho gaya aapko.. aankhe kholiye Jodha begum!!" He patted her cheek but she remained unconcious.

"Ya Allah! Yeh humse kya ho gaya! Humne itna bade gunah kar diya!"

He immediately picked Jodha in his arms and carried her to his room. He ordered his guards NOT to arrest Sujamal and asked him to rest in the ROYAL GUEST HOUSE.
