LashyAgree in toto with your post. It is very nice.JALAL VS BHARMAL
Yesterday quite a few were slapping their foreheads when Jalal pointed his fingers at Bharmal- wondering if this was another brain-freeze moment of his. However, the biggest shock came when it turns out that Raja Bharmal was indeed aware of the entire escapade and had ended up hiding everything from the Sultanat and from Jalal!😕 I was really shocked!
I can't believe that a man I'd otherwise considered noble would cheat his own son-in-law in this fashion - the very son-in-law who'd fulfilled more than his fair share of responsibilies in helping his second daughter's wedding go through! [Playing with Jalal and Jodha's characterizations weren't enough, so they jumped on to Bharmal now? And when we say Bharmal, we shouldn't forget Bhagwant Das either - he is just as much to blame in all of it!] How can Jalal believe their loyalty hereafter. Confusing
'You found a solution for your difficulties through my humiliation?' Jalal questions his father-in-law rightfully so - his maner still composed 'You've adviced me well on many issues in the past...so, please tell me what punishment should I mete you?'It was a cringe-worthy scene indeed to see the father-in-law kneel in front of the Shehenshah thus. On the other hand, Jalal kneeling down to give the man's relationship respect was laud-worthy! 👍🏼
Even though the majority of the blame lies with Shivani, I cannot absolve Bharmal of his sins either -As a mansabdaar it was his duty to inform the Shehenshah of any such developments in the matterAs a father-in-law, it was his obligation to let Jalal know of the prime reason of why he was going ahead with this. Wouldn't Hakim's life had been affected, if Shivani had gone ahead with some silly plans AFTER the wedding?
If Shivani has been responsible for the humiliation of her clan, Bharmal is no less - had he been upfront from the beginning it would have saved him and his family a lot of heartache. He's ended up jeopardizing one daughter's life/family to save another's and it doesn't make much sense to me. So now, Jodha has to suffer for the Ameris fault? Doesn't make sense, does it?I thought that the execution of this scene between Bharmal and Jalal was perfect. Jalal at his best...we haven't got to saying this for quite sometime now!!!!!!! But Bharmal & Co were supposed to be very loyal. They could have just shown Bharmal take responsibility for Shivaani's action and not as a schemer willing to risk his son-in-law's repute after all he did for his second daughter.
JALAL VS HAKIMI am glad Jalal gave Hakim the example of Shareefuddin and Bakshi Bano. It makes no sense to ask the culprits to be forgiven just because the crimes were one of 'love'! If that's the case then all the young men who carry crimes of 'passion' against the women they are obsessed with can request to be excused based on the fact that they are 'in love' too. True, in this day and age running from the wedding mandap might not be as big an issue, but this is a royal wedding in the 16th century, we're talking about.
Hakim is very large-hearted in forgiving Bharmal and Shivani, however he cannot rule an Empire with the principles he was meting today. (I still can't believe this man is going to turn against Jalal in future🤔)By making Hakim proclaim an 'Aakhir mohabbat hai' statement the CVs have downplayed the crime committed. Then, the lady in the court the other day who had a lover was also justified because she was only in love with a man other than her husband! Why was she alone stoned? (I definitely DON'T WANT Shivani/Tej to undergo such a thing 😆, but they need to be incarcerated)
If not, all the culprits will begin coming out with such sob-stories and request to be forgiven in court. So, would the judge just pardon them? Also, if Jalal forgives his own family, he is only setting a wrong example for the rest of the Sultanat - obviously, Jalal is not going to go about forgiving all his subjects now, is he?😕Exactly, how can a country be run by forgiving all crimes in the name of love!! It is preposterous. MH is fit enough to be HB's own son. This time they have made Haakim the saint to spare Jalal of further stooping. Hope MH doesn't become more saintlier and press his brother to forgive the duo too. Then Jodha will also feel compelled for BB's sake to free Shariffu 'legally'. Mughal jails will soon be empty.
HB
HB forgiving Bharmal made no sense whatsoever!😕 They could have shown her at least momentarily saddened or offended! Instead, she's asking them to stay back and celebrate Shivraatri! This scene was so unbelievable, I didn't even know what to say. 😕Most unbelievable!Among all her shocking goody-goodiness, this was the worst
JODHAThe only people I feel sorry for it at the end of it all are Jalal, Mirza Hakim and Jodha. Having said that, I wish Jodha had not requested Jalal to forgive Bharmal. Yes, she is emotional and anyone would be pained as a daughter to see what the father was going through. However, I would have liked her to remain silent in the matter.Watching Jodha in the last scene - in that room - crying to herself was adorable indeed. Her anger against her family and the 'impressed'/'touched' expressions she had on her face when she learnt that the Shehenshah had forgiven her father was Pari at her best! Her final lambasting against her family was aggrieving, but a necessary one! I liked all that she said - because, it was all true!Pinch me lashy...I liked her today...may be for the first time after the suicide fiasco. She identified herself as a Mughal family member in front of her parents. She also acknowledged that she used to be too proud of her Rajvanshi Sanskaars. Hope this incident makes her view her husband as a person and not 'woh Mughal' hereafter.
