I agree with your stance...
For me this is not about the Ameris alone or the Karni Sena...
If anything, I'm generally worried about the manner in which they're portraying akbar's story!
As far as I am concerned, the makers showing that Jalal was ready to give up his relationship with Ruqaiiya Begum for the sake of a law that didn't even need him to do so... is as much a sacrilege...I'm generally displeased with distortion of all characters...
I can understand a bit of masala being added but not total change in basic characterization...do keep us informed of any developments if possible 😳
ThNks
I certainly will keep you in the loop.
To be honest, after getting no response to my multiple emails, I wasn't expecting to be able to get anyone on the phone. I was a little frustrated when I spoke with the first person. But, thankfully, he didn't bother to offer any excuses...and answered my questions in a systematic manner...I always like this kind of 'no nonsense' attitude in people. It was strange when one of them addressed me as 'hukum' while talking to me. Heard that word after years...Though it is not relevant here but I took this opportunity to briefly get their opinion on some other social issues that plague India like corruption and rise of AAP, recent increase in crime against women and caste based reservation. It was nice to know because some of these people are seen as 'social activists' and have a lot of influence on masses during electoral processes.
Anyhow, I really like the fact that you are not being partial towards a certain character when it comes to misportrayl ...it is okay to have favorites but every single character deserves to be portrayed fairly. To be honest, I sometimes feel the need to defend Mahamanga more than others... Everyone else including Rukkiya has fans who challange the distortion of their character. Agree, Mahamanga was a negative character but no one doubts the fact that she was an intellegent woman. Showing her do these clown like antics is distasteful. She is omnipresent and does not show the insight of a shrewd politician anymore. Hope they don't give her some hi-tech gadgets and turn her into a James Bond.
The CV's know the pulse of viewers...they show what they think will bring the TRPs up and the moment they sense viewers boredom or anger, they give us a candy in form of a cute Akdha scene...I can speak for myself...I fall for it...I forgive and forget the CV's for the next 24 hrs( 72hrs if it is shown on Fridays )...and again devote 30 minutes of my 60-80 minute of daily TV time to the next episode of JA.
Finally, I am sure there are people in India who really care about how Mughals are portrayed. And I am not talking about religious leaders here. I'd love to talk to them as well and see what their thoughts are regarding the show. I did read somewhere about descendants of Bahadur Shah Zafar living in abject poverty in Calcutta. I am not sure how true it is. Need to do some more research on that. Maybe, history geek can guide me here.
Thanks!
