My dear Abhi,

It did not come off quite as I had expected it to today, and the only person who was correct was Alakh with her spolier about the well in the village! I personally felt that the whole trip to the village was rather affected and stagy; where did Jodha find out about that place being drought -stricken, and did the twosome walk all the way there? How many hours on foot?

Then again, did she or did she not intend to give him anything at all, especially going by her initial demurring? If it was the latter, where did the peasant outfit for Jalal come from all of a sudden? It was all badly scripted.

Jalal was really cute (though Rahim always wins the cuteness stakes hands down), asking openly and repeatedly for his tohfa, like a little boy, and his caustic comments on women were a delight too. As was his face, all lit up as if a tubelight had come on inside. contemplating Ruqaiya's nayaab, sab se alag tohfa. It has something to do with water, for the wavering light on his face is clearly reflected from rippling water. I wonder what it is.

Anyhow, tomorrow, Ruqaiya will spoil all his pleasure by quarrelling with him about Jodha. Plus she will try to trip Jodha up badly somewhere. Same old crude jealousy and melodrama track. All in all, this episode was a letdown.

The only thing I really liked was that Jodha and Jalal are now much more natural and easy-going with each other, and though she is generally deficient in a sense of humour, she does not poker up when he questions Chandragupta Maurya's claims to be the greatest Chakravarti Samrat of India, and in the end, even gets in a neat crack of her own about his being teda!

Shyamala JJ scene is pleasant to watch particularly Jalaal expression when Jodha put her hand and also when she removed her hand Jalaal could feel the touch. He surely wanted her to be there with him, but he can't say and when she left, he looked back to see if she really left .

Ruqu puzzle game is interesting, with Jalaal meeting family members. It has really gave a smile on his face and also gave enthusiasm to find the gift of Ruqu. But destiny has another plan with Rahim playing the cupid between JJ. Looks like Jodha is going to gift him before Ruqu.

I don't know what gift jodha will give to Jalaal. It has to be special, no BB.

In precap Jalaal was so happy to hear that Jodha is ready to give gift to him . What ever may be the Gift, Jalaal will cherish it, as it will be the FIRST GIFT he is getting from Jodha.

Yes, my dear Sneha, he did. You can look up his name, Hindal Mirza, on the net.

Your 2D to 3D comment is spot on; very clever!

As for Rajat's eyes, just look out for the nuances in them and you will see what I mean. That shows up very often, over a wide range of emotions, whereas the voice variations need heavy duty emotional scenes like these, which are infrequent.

Omg!
I mean then m too sad for Ruqs now. She couldn't evn bear a child. Thank god that Jo bcame momma of Salim n he was sent to Ruqs for muslim upbringing. Inna toh importance milna hi chahiye na usse.
Cv's bhi kamaal karte hai.
Bt frankly, for someone spoiled silly by attention, preference n secretes of husband despite polygamy, will deffo behave this way only, initially atleast! Badme bhalehi accept kar le. Saw na how she accepted Jo ka baby n evn sent Jalal back to Jo!
Nyways, I guess Shehenshah turned back in kite scene after hearin Rahim call out for choti ammi for girti patang! By Jo's account few secs ago, it was 'nazar hati durghatana ghati situation'. So he knows where her nazar must b!

As for first touch, it was ill edited scene, I bet! Ofcourse not greatly detailed in writing either. Jo k dialogues could have been varied..

N completeltly agree on Rajat ka voice! He adds volume to seemingly simple situation. Just like 2D movie ko 3D banate hai..
Though m yet to discover eyes walla part!!!!
Thanks for explaination.

Thank you, my dear Abie.

Today too, while I personally found the parched village track rather affected and stagy - where did Jodha find out about that place, and did they both walk there? - one thing I really liked was that Jodha and Jalal are now much more natural and easy-going with each other, and though she is generally deficient in a sense of humour, she does not poker up when he questions Chandragupta Maurya's claims to be the greatest Chakravarti Samrat of India, and in the end, even gets in a neat crack of her own about his being teda!

Thank you so much, my dear Jaya, both for the kind words about this post, and even more so for your very perceptive comments.

Especially the first para about royal standards of behaviour, and then the part about the spreading, rapidly contagious depression and anxiety among the courtiers when the King is out of sorts. I read in an Alexandre Dumas novel that King Louis XIII of France used to get hold of one of his courtiers when he was in a bad mood, and tell the trembling unfortunate Come. Monsieur, let us be bored together! That was obviously a frightful prospect!

As for Jodha's gift, I did not venture to guess at all as to what it might be.It did not come off quite as I had expected it to today, and the only person who was correct was Alakh with her spoiler about the well in the village! I personally felt that the whole trip to the village was rather affected and stagy; where did Jodha find out about that place being drought -stricken, and did the twosome walk all the way there? And I was glad she did not bring up the Bakshi Bani angle again.

Very nice take Shyamala. Thansk for the same.

I really loved it as they didn't make Jodha, the current day heroine who can change her husbands mind in one tough or with one big lecture. Just with her one touch, teh hero forgets all his grief and jut turn around and hug her or shed tears on her shoulder while she keeps massaging his head or wiping his tears. They have left these 2 as teh royals of teh 16th Century where they used to shy to sho their tears to the other however close they might be.

Jodha knowws it very well that it is difficult for jalal to pardon BB as he is not only a brother but also a shahenshah. and also aware that unless he forgives her, he can not have a peaceful day or night. When the king is in foul mood, nobody under his rule can be happy, Thus he is not only punishing BBfor her crime but also all those peiople who are not involved in her crime are also paying price for this. If he have to give justice to all by not punishing them, he has to stop punish him which is possible only when he forgives his sister. So her one point agend is set to get his pardon bakshi Bhanu.
Baout the treasure hunt, I loved the way Ruqaiya adopted to give her gift... though some may feel it looked childish, I felt she tried to cheer up Jalal with her thi game so atleast momentarily, he can forget his sorrow and enjoy his birthday with his loved ones.
About the Tulsi becoming a tree, I had to watch it many times to check whether that 4 - 5 twigs were so big that Jodha was worshipping teh tulsi tree. However, I think the CVs have used it in adavntage for Ruqaiya who can ask Jalal later in which angle the tulsi looked like a tree???????
The unfortunate thing is that even Rahim gets distracted by his Coti ammijan as Jalal gets distracted by Jodha Begum. So both thought tulsi as a big tree.
coming to Jodha's unique gift, I just can think one thins after watching Maham busy in teh palace kitchen giving numerous orders for delicate foods and own the responsibility of taste checkin before serving it to Jalal, is that Jodha will cook the special food for Jalal and serve him and even might share it with him . That was one wish he had put forth the other day when she cooked food for him .
There by she is way ahead of both Ruqaiya and Maham, whose name she took in font of Moti bai while thinking of gift for Jalal...her very human husband.😉😉

1)That she had married Jalal when he was a hunted prince on the run, more likely to end up dead than on a throne.

2)That but for the sacrifice of her father, Hindal Mirza, who not only gave up his life to save those of his stepbrother Humayan and Jalal, but left the whole of his holdings in Afghanistan to Jalal, and not to his own daughter Ruqaiya, there would have been no Shahenshah Jalaluddin today.

3)That she loves her Jalal so much that she will not share his love with anyone else.

Instead, she makes a complete ass of herself, undoubtedly so the CVs can make Jodha look cleverer.

Everything was beautifully written but I couldn't understand above 3 points..The question from jodha is if ruq loves her husband if he is a normal person not being sehanshah/best friend..

1. She married him at the age of 8/9 years old ..she is just a kid (we can't expect a kid marrying with love)..as a kid she might have thought its fun to play marriage game ..(as of her nature she loves special treatment )..n also it is elders decision .

2. Sacrifice of her father ..it's her father's loyality..here question is whether ruq loves her husband r not..it's not about her father's loyality towards jalal's family.

3. Whether she don't want to share his love is it because she is afraid of loosing her husband or her khas position..

I'm not good at expressing my feelings..that is the reason I do not prefer write anything other than pressing the like button..

Above mentioned points are not for critising r hurting. I just tried to express what I thought when I read those points.

You are the only one who mentioned about the odd thing rahim neem KA ped changed to tulsi KA ped n smart jalal did not catch he took tulsi plant as tree..

beautiful write up aunty and sorry for being late in replying..😛..
The kite thing was very symbolic, agree with each of your point but I don't like how ruku character is changing slowly to a serial type vamp, specially after seeing the precap, how she was hissing, it's just so disgusting to butchering a noble lady to make other lady mahan,. Ruqaiyaa and marium both were very dignified, loyal, intelligent,
The precap left a bad taste in mouth..

Rajat is a brilliant actor, every nuances he brings on his face so effortlessly that words fall short to praise him..And Jodha's character has taken a big leap, the calm, intelligent, dignified Jodha is back, I am loving her more now. The best part is she tried to relate herself with his pain, tried to lessen his pain by constantly asking him to forgive BB, that's indeed a notable change in her.

As said what happens, happens for better.. The fake preggo track really happened for betterment.it seems now. Jodha has taken steps to work on her marriage now..😊👏

Another awesome episodes/s analysis!
Thanks for the PM, Shyamala!

Lovely writeup and agree with you, Rajat shines through in all the emotional scenes, makes it look real and not acting at all. The emotions flitting across his face, his voice modulation all deserve an applause! For once, Jodha wasn't grating and her attempt to try to understand how Jalal must be feeling and trying to lend him support with that touch on his shoulder was a nicely done scene. The puzzle game is gonna be a flop and Rukuu is sure to be pissed off at Jodha in the end! 😆

Shyamla aunty...I always like ur analysis of each episode...so beautiful post as always👏...but I would like to differ on the same three points mentioned by Jarp.

I noticed one thing...whenever People here on this forum talk abt Ruq's character they most of the time refer to the Real Begum Ruquiya Sultan...and I m talking abt a character Ruq which is the part of a fictional show...I know her childhood was miserable...her father sacrificed his life for Humayun...she had been with Jalal in his good & bad times...but plz tell me whenever that aspect was shown in this show ?

I agree with Jarp...she married Jalal at the age of 9...does a girl of nine years really understand the meaning of marriage & love in that age?...whatever Hindal Mirza did it was his loyalty to his Shehenshah & his brother...and people of that time used to be loyal to their King...I have many examples from history...Panna Dhaay if I m not wrong sacrificed his own son to save Udai Sing's life...Shakti Sing had always been against his brother Maharana Pratap & fought against him from the Mughals...but when he saw his brother's life was in danger & took his crown & wore it himself to save his brother's life...

If Hindal Mirza saved Humayun's life he saved the existence of the Mughals & his family including his wife & daughter...so it has nothing to do with Ruq...But now Ruq is matured & understands marriage & love...now the question arises does she really love Jalal or her position as Begum-e-Khaas?..she indeed loves Jalal but as Jodha said there is difference b/w "Chahna" & "Pana"...love is unconditional..."she loves Jalal so much that she can't share her love with anyone else"...I can't digest this...if u truly love someone u will continue to love that person even if he/she loves anyone else...how can she object if Jalal also loves his any other begum...why she questioned Salima if Jalal took her advice...Salima's also his begum as she...she is possessive of Jalal...

Jodha hasn't yet fallen for Jalal but the day she realizes her love she'll keep loving him even if he's not a Shehenshah, she's not his begum or he loves any other begum...she will never mind Jalal's going to Ruq...infact she'll be the one who will send Jalal to Ruq...I m not against Ruq...she is one of my fav characters in the show and I have full faith on CVs...they won't spoil her character...she's the same Ruq who din mind Jodha's accompanying Jalal to Ajmer...she's the same lady who was happy for Jalal's coming child even if the mother of that child was Jodha...one day she will realize the meaning of true love...she'll accept Jalal-Jodha relationship...she will love their child as her own...😳
