No, no, Sonia, my resolution was only that I would not tear strips off Jodha every time, which is what my critiques of her invariably turn into! It does not extend to honest assessments like this one!😉

And as I wrote on your last comment in my previous thread, why on earth would I be affronted by your pulling my leg?

Please pardon the affront Shyamalaji...I cannot help but ROFL ...seems this resolution of yours is bound to fail 😆

I do love souffles ...I get what you are alluding to 😉 but then..."You can't make a souffle rise twice" so thoroughly enjoying this one. Till MA is on vacation and Ruqs is happy in her delusions.
Do take this in the best of spirit. I would love to meet you in person.🤗

Yes, Sonia, it was absolutely delightful, as light and airy as a successful souffle. But it was more because of the nuances Rajat brought to Jalal than because Jodha was at least rational and pleasant for once. The look on his face as he says To hum aapka saath dete was fabulous in its candid, still conviction. That boy is a wonderful artist.

The girl is ok, has beautiful eyes, and when she is not projecting ghrina, is easy on the eyes, But pleasant girl's roles are a dime a dozen in TV, and while she can be very good at times, she is never going to be anything spectacular.

However, I was grateful that Jodha behaved decently for the first time in weeks, like a cat which has eaten all the cream. It was remarkable, her telling Moti at the end that he must have "some good" somewhere in him - the damned cheek of it!!

Yes, Ruqaiya has been returned to default factory settings, as Ariel mentioned so aptly! That is what I meant when I wrote that this Ruqaiya cannot be trusted to be consistent, and assessing her is like walking on quicksand. But there was nothing to be shocked about in what she said; when you have so many women fighting over one man, such crass opinions and ideas are bound to surface; it is like whistling in the dark to keep your courage up, which is really a sign of insecurity, not of confidence.

I too hope my resolution will be easy to keep, and it will have another advantage, more of such scenes will mean that there is nothing to analyse and I can have days off!😉

Hi Shyamala,
I have not fully recovered from yesterday's issue...hence am late to log in and even more late in posting to ur centenary post. I am saved by your amazingly Home-hitting analysis to say anything more abt the incredibility created in the serial...Though, in today's epi I saw a weak attempt at tying the loose ends a bit...

1st: Jalaal musing abt his Begums' Fidrat(explains his deliberate half-truth to Ruqaiyya abt sleeping with Jo)😉
2nd: Jo-Moti convo where Moti does a smart job of reminding Jo that even if anything happened, it should not be treated as a sacrilege by Jo...as Ja is her lawfully wedded husband who wanted to save her and has already done a lot for her and her clan.(this seems to echo what I had posted as P.S. in MKM's post 2 days back...😉)
3rd:Sudden toning down of Jo and rushing to cook for her Hubby to express her Gratitude...(Puts balm on her earlier stingy behavior with Ja in her Hojra after court dismissal)😃

4th: Jo taking her 1st ever baby steps in trying to embrace OR understand her Hubby,His Culture and his Taur Tariquey...(by striking a deal with Salima...)😳

5th: Not reacting rudely when Ja asks her to share his plate ...instead smiling wryly and complying (clarifies that she does not have an orthodox touch -no touch issue and is secular in mindset) 😆 and even trying her hand at imitating Ja ...much to the already ever-growing amusement and amazement of Ja...
(However, Ja asking her to eat from his plate...though it was a very sweet gesture he showed, but I am a bit confused here...Did he do that to show love & care Or was it his own way of testing the water so far??😉)

But ,even when all these r taken together , it doesnot do the Bharpaayi of the abysmal loopholes still left gaping at us...So CVs , we want some proper justification on certain specific issues as already discussed in the forums.

Regards,
Kamal

P.S. As for the Man-courier of Sh.SC arriving at 11th hr, Take on conversion procedure by Ruqaiyya(Sirf Kalma padhna..) ...all these are explained in the beginning of the epi if u notice..."Tatkaaleen paristhitiyon ko ...Uchit Naatakiya Roop diye gaye hai...kisiko thhes pohochana nahi hai..." so nothing to be explained there... as all these time -calculated events shown are only Dramatization of the tracks... 😊

Hi Lashy,
since I was the 1st one to vent out my feeling abt the atrocious "Kaala Libaas" idiocy of the CVs in my post to Shyamala Aunty's BBB, gr8 to see that ur love for JA made u search webs for trying to find Pukta Saboot for covering the CVs slip...😉👍🏼
But, for one thing, it wasn't warm clothes which Jalaal meant , he emphasized on the "Kaala Libaas" in his explanation and hence is as incredible as it was ...😆
And in ur searched article below also, u must hv seen , they do mention source of heat generation to be present as w/o that, the thermal conduction is impossible to start...

But here's something which bothers me...Jo's clothes were changed ...and Moti didn't do it...so who did THAT?? And HOW??😉😉
2ndly, May be the Kaala Libaas is true...but it's only Half true...May be the source of Heat radiation too was there (the info which Ja sweetly edited may be)...and that's none other than Jallu's Body...😉
(Why did he then take of his fur shawl??And there were no one else allowed inside the khema that night which Jalaal himself affirmed in front of Ruqaiyya...so no Daasi also...😆.)

Food for thought!!

Regards,
Kamal

Sorry I don't want to offend you in anyway..after reading your reply on my thread about the one issue that possibly irked you the most - I reflected on it all for a while and then went online to do some reading.

Strangely enough even for people who suffer from acute/severe hypothermia in temperatures you are referring to (i.e. who are in a state of unconsciousness and whose body heat is diminishing, pulse is falling etc) - the treatment suggested in most medical websites (NHS/Webmed etc) is of warm blanket wrapping😕...

It doesn't state anywhere that skin-to-skin hugging is more efficient at restoring a person's body temperature than blanket & hugging...(I thought skin hugging is better too) Some websites state that it can be done, but nowhere has it been specified that it would be more efficient at reviving a person THAN wrapping them up in dry warm clothes...

I agree the 'BLACK' cloth makes little sense though...anyway, most websites seem to emphasize on dry warm clothes...and if that doesn't work then seedha 911...😆 If its only the black you are referring to then yes I agree with you ...but, warm blankets themselves are the main advised mode of treatment...😊

So, maybe Jo was suffering from moderate Hypothermia (where people get delirious and their vital signs are slipping away) In severe, they're nearly comatose and chances of surviving even with modern medicine is touch and go apparently😕!

One excerpt from a website...

Mild hypothermia: 90-95 degrees

Moderate hypothermia: 82-90 degrees

Severe hypothermia: Lower than 82 degrees

Since response to hypothermia varies among individuals, temperatures may differ.

What Is the Treatment for Hypothermia?

Hypothermia is a potentially life-threatening condition that needs emergency medical attention.

If medical care isn't immediately available:

  • Remove any wet clothes, hats, gloves, shoes, and socks.
  • Protect the person against wind, drafts, and further heat loss with warm, dry clothes and blankets.
  • Move gently to a warm, dry shelter as soon as possible.
  • Begin rewarming the person with extra clothing. Use warm blankets. Other helpful items for warming are: an electric blanket to the torso area and hot packs and heating pad on the torso, armpits, neck, and groin; however, these can cause burns to the skin. Use your own body heat if nothing else is available.
  • Take the person's temperature if a thermometer is available.
  • Offer warm liquids, but avoid alcohol and caffeine, which speed up heat loss. Don't try to give fluids to an unconscious person.

The Kala Vastra: e of the CVs. I was falling off my chair for laughing.

It was LUDICROUS. A black cloth, or even a black blanket, cannot generate heat, which was what was needed. Jodha's half frozen body had no heat to conserve. What was needed was an external source of heat. That is why the Khwaja recommended her husband hugging her tight to transfer HIS body warmth to her. And if not body heat, there could have been the Mughal equivalent of brandy, plus a blazing fire. Neither of which needed Jalal .

But how on earth can a black cloth wrapping thaw out a frozen body? This kind of nonsense is an insult to the intelligence of the viewers. And obviously none of the CVs has done even an elementary course in physics!😉

Having said all of this, this logic still seems more acceptable than the MC body double and talaaq fiasco to me...😆

i'll bet a whole bunch of women would insist on jalal too, 😉and then later they can pretend it was all jalal's fault for making them do it against their better thoughts 😆

All within 1 epi!

This episode has brought about the most varied viewer response I've ever seen 😆 How can everyone have such different viewpoints/takes on the same screenplay..just goes to show that as human beings - the scope of how differently we get affected by emotions is very vast!😊

Some supporting Ruqs some (not) against her
Some supporting Jalal some against him
Few (not) supporting Jodha most against her
Many supporting HB, few against her (not interesting...some thing is lacking...i think it is bitter out of zyada meetha or may flaws of acting)

I know I keep lamenting about jodha because she is still not right for me. Her tone and attitude even thought better in today episode there is just something missing. I am irked at how she only thinks about her self preservation. She couldn't have spared a thought to what a diabolical disaster it would have been for shehenshah to abdicate. Her religious conversion wasn't really about her and I hate how she thinks that it is, What it is really about is the governance of the Mughal state under one religion. I want her character to transition into looking at the larger picture, I don't think she realizes where or who she is and what her obligations are.
The other thing that bothers is how waywardly jalal offered to abdicate like it was a throw away idea. Great kings did not become great by offering to abdicate, they owned that seat and damn those who shall challenge that. I wanted to see such passioned conviction from a man with such high ambitions. He didn't have to pull out his sword which would have shown great character development, earlier that is what he would have done. The way the durg episode ended that controlled fury I think we all thought what an imperialistic performance. I wanted to see jalal dish out an bombastic speech silencing the crowd, forget the disappointing love story the highlights in the serial have so far been jalal authority. When he comes out swinging with or without a sword we let out a cheer. What a disappointment that he acts like air let out from a balloon.
