@red. Absolutely, Hamida Banu sets my teeth on edge most of the time and I would have loved to takeb a hatchet to her for that 'saved Jalal's life" comment that you have cited. But why complain about the tiger part when Jalal's non-existent zubaan not to touch her has now taken on a life of its own?

Jodha, with her self-righteousness and her absolute self-satisfaction would have run her Ammijaan a close second but for my Deepavali resolution to stop tearing strips off her every single time.

As for Jalal, a Shahenshah kneeling in public in front of his wife and wanting to fasten the payal around her ankle (hopefully a shapely one, and even more hopefully not accompanied by chapped and cracked heels!😉) was so unbelievable that I did a double take. But I must concede that Rajat managed to avoid making Jalal look foolish, even down on his knees, dangling that payal from his fingers and grinning up at Jodha. That was quite something.

what i guess is - that the writers have also realized that the mohan and sukanyan's wedding epis showed up the foolish and ungrateful jodha and they are trying hard to pretend that never happened. maybe, maybe not.

my sympathies go to the actors who have to bear with this.

I don't like a man that is cold towards his wife for the sake of a new love interest, let alone understanding how a man can have a myriad loves and still love one over all others. Be that as it may, seen as a simple uncomplicated love story between a common sense lacking hoity toity princess and an arrogant emperor, the story is entertaining so far. I agree, Shyamala, that I like you have felt stirrings of dissatisfaction lately.

He is arrogant no longer, and ostentatiously so, which also disturbs me for a different reason. He now seems to be trophy hunting, by making Ruqaiya jealous of Jodha, and as for Jodha and all that payal fastening, it seemed out of place for an emperor in full public view. He seemed to me to be rushing her, and hard. It looks too pat to be convincing from his side, though based on the past instances of his sincerity, I cannot buy the cheating track at all, which would be very pedestrian and distasteful. However, that another distasteful track is on the way seems to be a dead cert.
