Not going to hope for understandably grey ruqs anymore :)

He was just testing her like I expected. She looked jealous yesterday and now she is happy?😕

Oh he was just testing her? I haven't watched yet . Good , I'm glad !! Phew !

Ruqs swings so much just like jodha . Yesterday she said she won't thank him and today she does.

Same confusion as jalal, I don't know what makes them tick :)

I guess he is dropping hints to ruqs which she is not picking up on while gauging her while he decides about jodha.

The cvs are keeping all their options open , they can take this in either direction .

But I don't think he will clear ruqs doubts. At least not so soon

It was a spectacular episode today Shyamalji 😃
Jodha was simply adorable 🤗

The only thing that marred the episode were Ruqaiyya's words...Shahenshah ke liye khaana banana, raatein rangin karna...was so crude and crass .Horrible ! This from a Mughal Princess and Mallika-e-khaas! 😲

Hope your Diwali resolution will be easy to accept 🤗 😃

A very different take on the episode indeed! Agreed that I was surprised to see a submissive Jalal, did not know that the maulvis were so powerful that they could throw away the King from their throne. I was also dissatisfied for Jodha not caring one bit that her husband was being thrown away from the throne, only because of her. That was very cruel of her is all I can say, just like when she asked him to die somewhere else. CVs have ruined this character to no ends.

The point that I do not agree is that Hamida is only all about the throne. She cares for her son deeply and also for Jodha (this one has to be some past janam connection as Jodha has done nothing to earn the 24K gold plate). In the tiger attack she as a mallika has to be worried more about the king. In no way it meant to me that she was not saddened by the fact that she might lose her son.

The new Ruqu on the other hand only showed one instance where she cared about Jalal. When she agreed that Jodha should go to Ajmer as it was Jalal's life in danger issue. Jalal has teased Ruqu even before, remember after the shamsheer scene where he says 'kahin tumhe jalan to nahin ho rahi'. Ruqu has teased and tana maroed jalal many times also about how he lets Jodha spit venom at him. I did not feel it was Jalal trying to demean Ruqu in anyway. He likes to tease his begums and was surprised that Ruqu was not jealous as any other begum should have been. I enjoyed reading your viewpoint as always, so thank you Shyamala!

No, Meghana, I have not made myself clear. I did not say that Hamida cared only about the emperor and not about her son as he lay near death. In fact I said and meant the opposite.

That if one went only by what Hamida said then, this is what one would conclude, but that it was not true. Similarly, if one were to say that Ruqaiya does not love her husband because she tells Mahaam that she prayed for the survival of the Shahenshah first and foremost, that would not be true either.

I agree with you about the Jalal-Ruqaiya scene as well, now that I have seen the whole. The first half was misleading, whence my comments.

This apart, I have been commenting on the folly of Jalal offering to abdicate and nominate Rahim as the next Shahenshah, and this for a variety of reasons. There seems to be a great deal of misconceptions about this, and maybe I will do a small clarificatory post on that for those interested.

And thank you so much for liking this one,my dear. You write so clearly and effectively yourself that I appreciate it all the more.

Yes, Sonia, it was absolutely delightful, as light and airy as a successful souffle. But it was more because of the nuances Rajat brought to Jalal than because Jodha was at least rational and pleasant for once. The look on his face as he says To hum aapka saath dete was fabulous in its candid, still conviction. That boy is a wonderful artist.

The girl is ok, has beautiful eyes, and when she is not projecting ghrina, is easy on the eyes, But pleasant girl's roles are a dime a dozen in TV, and while she can be very good at times, she is never going to be anything spectacular.

However, I was grateful that Jodha behaved decently for the first time in weeks, like a cat which has eaten all the cream. It was remarkable, her telling Moti at the end that he must have "some good" somewhere in him - the damned cheek of it!!

Yes, Ruqaiya has been returned to default factory settings, as someone else mentioned so aptly! That is what I meant when I wrote that this Ruqaiya cannot be trusted to be consistent, and assessing her is like walking on quicksand. But there was nothing to be shocked about in what she said; when you have so many women fighting over one man, such crass opinions and ideas are bound to surface; it is like whistling in the dark to keep your courage up, which is really a sign of insecurity, not of confidence.

I too hope my resolution will be easy to keep, and it will have another advantage, more of such scenes will mean that there is nothing to analyse and I can have days off!😉

@blue...🤣 🤣
Please pardon the affront Shyamalaji...I cannot help but ROFL ...seems this resolution of yours is bound to fail 😆

I do love souffles ...I get what you are alluding to 😉 but then..."You can't make a souffle rise twice" so thoroughly enjoying this one. Till MA is on vacation and Ruqs is happy in her delusions.
Do take this in the best of spirit. I would love to meet you in person.🤗
