Dear Mansi..wishing you a very Happy Diwali ๐Ÿค—

loved reading your insight which is beautiful and this is exactly how these tracks are spread and intersected too

next week would be a religious drama which would impact both at personal and political level...the consequences of the same will be faced by one and all ...for good or bad..it will be marked by realisations, fears, awareness for all be it Jalal,Jodha,MA or ruqaiyya...things will change and it will be sensed by MA who is trying hard to convince herself that once used Jalal will put away Jodha ...her fear stems from the unspoken otherwise...and this is what she will witness and ruqaiyya too

various roles are going to be defined...

jodha will be at a crossroad ...her duty and role as a wife or her identity
Jalal the Emperor and the husband will be embarking further on his journey towards love and growth as an Emperor

i just hope cvs take their own sweet time in defining all these roles and tracks and do not rush with it ...given that these are the crux of this Epic Love Story

If you read some of the snippets from Historian's books about Harem life that our Historical-buff-friends have posted, you'd see that things like this were common practise...there were ladies who did nothing than spy on whom the Shehenshah spent which night with ...ufff...
If being the Shehenshah's favourite meant power...then, I'm certain that ladies who had no other claim to fame/power could have resorted to such tactics in desperation...because, if they didn't they'd be left behind in a maze of politics - lonely and uncared for. If you think that ladies used to deliberately cause miscarriages of other ladies' foetuses, this still seems bearable to me...

Please don't view any of this from a 21st century viewpoint...it's just not going to go down well at all...๐Ÿ˜ŠJust think of it like something that happens within the harsh inside world of Bollywood today!

actually there was a documentary on the Mughal Era on tv recently ...in which they were talking about the harem and whatever we are seeing is just part of the whole truth which was even more ghastly and scary ...conspiracies ,murder, scheming ,fight for power and spying was soo common ...

it was said that the duty of the harem woman was pleasing the Emperor and providing him with children and once they provided that ...the Emperor would stop visiting them and then a life of loneliness waits...no wonder most of them turned against each other

they were provided all the luxuries and protection possible but emotionally it was hell for most of them

it is scary ,i can understand where jodha comes from ..even if she has heard about it ,is aware of it but still it is different coming and living in it ,that too a different religion ,culture ..shudders...

I don't doubt any of this for a second...from the very beginning...
obviously they can't show everything today unless its a documentary or its just not going to go down well with the audience...
Many in the forum couldn't accept the fact that Shehenshah would stop visiting Ruqaiyya once she became pregnant... its better we leave behind our modern vision before watching it ...

Beautiful beautiful beautiful write-up Mansi...๐Ÿ‘
Possibly the only on who can continue to see positivity in such a dismally directed storyline...๐Ÿ˜Š
They've ruined a 16th century epic romantic tale with scenes like Bodyheat and push ups (fine the push ups bit was entertaining) but, body heat? Seriously?

As mentioned before, I am not one to shy away from passionate scenes as long as it's tastefully done...I wouldn't mind even vouching for a lip-to-lip kiss as long as the storyline, situation and setting demands it...
However, what was shown on Friday only looked tacky and therefore I didn't like it one bit!

Also, you know Mansi..you put so much of sweet thought into every line and scene in the episodes.๐Ÿ˜Š I agree - some of the scenes are definitely worth all that effort (like the Durg issue) but many of them seems like even the CVs don't care for (I don't think they even thought about the post-Mohan issue well enough)

Look at the latest inside info, the CVs have shot for three different scenes/possibilities for conclusion of the Bodyheat episode which is going to come back to us in a week's time in the form of flashbacks apparently...so, are they waiting to gauge TRPs and audience reaction to decide upon story of next week? When even the CVs are unsure of how to take the tracks ahead, how will the disjointed-ness and the mish-mashed plot NOT shown on screen? No wonder the actors themselves are looking tired these days...

I'm so disappointed with the way the tracks (especially romantic ones) are being handled...they have a lovely cast, tailor-made story - but, lack in execution!

As for the political and religious issues - I don't have any complaints...It needs to be shown and is being depicted in a crisp-enough manner to excite 21st century audience me thinks...๐Ÿ˜ณ

@Mansi, loved reading ur strand theory bcos quite frankly I was feeling a bit confused & lots dissatisfied by so many unexplained bits recently. All the tracks were so promising but never sort of reached fruition exactly is how it felt to me. But ur explanation on this puts a different light on it. Hope the CVs r thinking along the same lines ( or atleast now stalk here & pinch some very good ideas from some of the forum writers ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) & give us some fulfilling tracks finally. And last but not the least, A Very Happy Diwali ๐Ÿ˜Š

well done , Mansi. Fab analysis.

I m repeating something i have written in Vicky's thread. this is fully my theory.

i know it's two early, but it seems the CVs r setting stone for Jalal to form the new religion Din-E- Illahi. (sorry if the spelling is wrong). from what i have read, once he got married to Hindu Begum (we know her as Jodha) and getting to know The Hinduism better, he was acting on his wishes, like if felt the thing is good from Islamic POV he used to act likewise, and if he thought Hinduism is right on any matter , he used to do it that way, ignoring those who try to stop him.

I know he formed the new religion after he became Akbar The Great. but they might show this incident as start for the change in his thinking, and start for his being Shehenshah E Hidusthan in a very true manner, rather than just being a Mughal Emperor. if my thinking is right, this will go on for months together. this point will come in the soap, atleast twice a month in future. (this is all my thinking. i don't know what CVs r thinking, nor i know the exact and very true history. so i m sorry if i m hurting anybody.)

rest, i still don't know exactly why they showed the whole AkDha night scene. it's not leading anywhere right now. but then, ur points marked in red by me, seems a good possibility where he can win her trust forever. I just have a thought that it will give her a new opportunity to see him in totally different light. only one thinking abt it, Jodha to finally accept Jalal as her fate and her complete surrender to him , might be shown in few episodes.i mean , she has seen what Jalal can do to save her Amer ki Izzat, so she will try to reciprocate by accepting the condition to convert to Islam, and Jalal stopping her and Jodha moving on with their new found respect for each-other.

this is what i felt after yest's episode.

Diksha, I too thought of the possibility of this new religion Deen-i-lahi that Akbar started but then even I had heard it happens much later in his life, so I did not menton that idea in my post.
Regarding scenes of what actually happened that night, I have a feeling they would have shot some scenes already which they may show in flashback as if Jalal is remembering or Moti is remembering etc. For now they want to keep it in suspense (that is, give the audience only Jodha's perplexed point of view!)
That sentence is blue is fabulous. If Jodha agrees to convert to Islam and at the same time Jalal says "She should stay a Hindu" it will be a beautiful moment when both are thinking only of each other!
Happpy Diwali, buddy!๐Ÿค—

Actually you have made some very good points. And you know, regarding the speed of the serial, I read somewhere an interview by Ekta when she was asked how her serials manage to reach high TRPs so fast. She has said that her goal is to bring some major twist at least once in very 15 episodes, to keep the story gripping and for holding audience interest!
So my point is also like yours ... let them have these high points, but as you say let the love story happening in the context of these high points be sweet and slow and beautiful!

Yes indeed, I can imagine the kind of petty rivalries there must have been in the harem politics and how such logic may have been used by the ladies to feel their own importance (which probably wasn't really there as the Shahenshah must be giving them the royal ignore!)
As you say it can happen in any situation old or modern where rivalries are intense and favours and handouts are few!
