Well, Muslims aren't supposed to do 'maatha tekna' in front of anyone but God. So the premise - if doing this in front, or to, a grave - is wrong. Maybe that's what the writer meant.

If it's pure language - maatha is sometimes used by Urdu speaking folks, though the urdu terms are peshaani, mah. Tekna is an urdu word, though for this act, we'd just say sujda. That's prostrating, and literally touching your forehead to the floor in the humblest postures - in effect doing 'maatha tekna'.

But again - that's reserved only for God, no one else.

Maatha tekna is something hindus say.. that was a very big error..
