It was ludicrous, like a circus.

I was asking the same question after yest's episode. this was clearly very personal matter and Jalal and Mainavati could have solved this without any public attention. but here they r : both of them taking decisions of Jodha's lofe just like she is not a daughter or a wife but like she is some public property. no more insult for a girl that her life is discussed in public. they both actually made " Tamasha" of her in public

agreed , Jodha is wrong with Jalal many times, but that doesn't give him right to discuss her publically.

rest the way Ruku is trying to understand Jalal , after he panics a bit with the thought of Jodha's suicide, was good.

Wonderful post , love ur analysis as always.
Loved yesterday's epi, Hara Jodha, was a pleasant surprise. But my heart went out to the poor soul Jodha. Rejection and those harsh words coming from her mother was the biggest blow to her which she never ever expected. I would have preferred if Mainavati had said all this to Jodha in private.

Dear Diksha,

I agree, of course, which is why I put that in, but the answer for both of us is also there in the second para of the Question of the day. It is all soapy drama.

Do also see my response to Alakh above about a comment by myviewprem. It will interest you.

You know, my dear, one begins to tire of all this analysis, where of course I am one of the major culprits, after a while, It starts detracting from one's simple enjoyment of the flow of the story and the performances. Then one feels obliged to take 3 hours out to write a 3 page analysis and inflict it on a bunch of long-suffering readers. Then one spends still more time responding to comments, which I love doing, for this is a remarkably sensible and intelligent forum

It soon becomes like a drug, and the demands keep rising in terms of time. The only way out is to quit cold turkey, After 3 months, I am beginning to wonder when I can nerve myself to that point!! Obviously I am not there yet!!

There was one thing that made me feel sorry for Hameeda bano...MA and Ruku know that Jalal is sending Jodha to Amer...Clearly Jalal didnt bother to tell her...Obviousely she was also informed last abt Ruku's MC...Jalal"s behaviour towards his mother is very cold and it is a good thing she keeps away from him...

Isn't Jalal cold towards her because she keeps away from him?

I wouldn't say he is cold towards her.. He is just not close to her.

oh my goodness the cvs are listening to your rantings about butchering the pearl character of jodha into mere stone . that Green jodha symbolize our voices all over .but we can't deny the facts of yellow jodha too..though she is a princess, she is blinded by the prejudice that her husband is a cruel core some invader abducted her pride as his prize of joy . (can a left hander life style shifts to right ? sure it takes time ,jodha's is having the same problem here too )
indeed he himself ensured her thoughts verbally in many occasions except her MIL every one in agra recited his attitude as such , so that she cannot dilute her prejudice ,whenever some logical situation appears before her . poor girl and her ghirna ...This time her khana is fed up ,hence her husband had no choice ,he himself jumped inside her turmoil which is filled with whirlwind, that she needs his hand to get out her "self prejudice "

sorry for a long time to comment ,thanks for all your remainder pms 😛

WOW awesome post.Excellent analysis⭐️
There IS something about her that pulls him, like a hidden magnet, and this has been so since the time he ventured on that risky trip to the heart of Amer just to catch a glimpse of her.

@bold ,this is reason why our short tempered Jalal is forgiving his jodha begum's rude behaviour.

Aunty, to be very honest, i really wanted to read u last night itself, i so wished that ur post was up for reads during bedtime like earlier. It was a fabulous episode and I knew even u would be sharing my feelings Smile

Ur posts are exemplary, loved the underlined statements and also the thoughts that we are talking about characters who lived in 1500s and its time we stop treating them as one of us in modern times.

Absolutely adore u for the Green and Yellow Jodha symbolisms and the way u defend Jalal:--- WOW!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed yday's episode and u have made it all the more wonderful.

Shyamala...i can never tire of saying how much i look forward to reading your take ...this forum is blessed with some of the best writers

the episode was good and well paced bringing in the elements leading to the infamous suicide...

Mainavati...a mother a queen and today it was the Queen who stood her stand and gave her verdict...she was not wrong...even today we have mothers who would anyday vouch for working on the relationship rather than breaking it at the drop of a hat...Jodha the daughter thought even if unconvincingly that her parents would accept her back with open arms...the princess did not raise her head ...coz that was a battle between a begum and a woman torn inside by her own prejudice, circumstances and her husband's definition of her and their marriage...so the broken woman found solace in the daughter who believed her parents would take her back even if shamed..so the hurt and heart break also the humiliation when told in no sweet words that she was not welcome back ...hit her hard..very hard...

jalal's expression did give a lot away...he was clueless on what to do his sadness on seeing her plight

i loved the fact that he did not raise the holi issue or announce he is sending her back as her punishment instead it was the husband giving into the wife's wish...that takes a lot of courage especially in that era and you are the Emperor...people will talk and talk bad yet he did it ...not realizing things have gone from bad to worse for her

my only issue was mainavati should have spoken to her in private ,she is her daughter not some subject...why make such a tamasha of her in front of one and all ...she could have asked for permission to talk to her daughter alone and said what she had to ...it was hurtful and heartbreaking...given just few days back jodha was confident her family would welcome her back even though it was not practical and none of us believed they would and at some level even jodha knew

which comes to the next impactful scene for me

the three jodhas...standing one side is the daughter of Amer, sitting broken is the woman who is defeated, lost, confused and heartbroken and on the other side is the wife of the Emperor...and these three ladies have a very interesting conversation

the daughter realizes the impact of her decision ,the calamity that would befall on her family...the woman sitting still argues she would have taken care of her parents her whole life but she understands why her mother did what she did..and then enters my favoriite jodha of the scene...the wife who did not hide behind her husband's shortcomings ,the wife who did not berate her husband for his lack of respect or his cruelty but there stood the wife who blatantly told the truth ,the one part of the truth that if this relationship is in shambles jodha is as much responsible...the woman is shocked and holds onto her defence..blame it on shahenshah..but the wife would not hear a word...she very calmly and firmly pointed out to jodha her own shortcomings

unbearable was the truth ,the consequences for the woman sitting ...she lost her stand as a daughter ,princess, wife, begum and felt abandoned as a woman ..so what next...she knew exactly what next..one weak moment, one wrong decision that is all it takes

jalal cares about jodha...he will never accept it ...his actions always speak louder hence ruqaiyya concentrates on his actions and expressions and very less on his words...so when he went on and on about mughal sultanat ki izzat which the Emperor in him wante dtp preserve..his friend was reading him ,his expressions and the screen freezes on a wild eyed Shahenshah

whatever reasons the Emperor gave for saving jodha...but the man who was running after her, jumped in to save her and screamed the life out of her was most certainly not the Emperor...

and the precap..oh dear boy ...you spend a month and half with this firebrand and yet you order her to stop that too her marathon of death 😆..how naive are you my dear Shahenshah 😆
