I don't like speaking much on that woman but since you put her performances above Shantanu's, I have something to say. Shakti was extremely lucky to have a choreographer like Tushar. He is a fantastic dancer and a versatile choreographer unlike Alisha. Tushar I remember made Ekta Kaul deliver good performances also . Shakti was not shooting 12 hrs a day and then rehearsing for JDJ unlike Shantanu. Shakti left D3 as soon as Jhalak began. Shantanu has to rehearse for 2 acts in 4 days unlike previous seasons where 4 days were alloted for 1 act.
Shakti except that one hip hop act din't really go out of her comfort zone. She mostly did variants of contemporary . I remember they once did contemp and Chau and Tushar is a Chau specialist. Tushar is excellent with aerial also.
And Alisha is extremely lucky to have a contestant like Shantanu. She should be working her ass off. We love the instagram/snapchat snippets and all of it, but at the end of the day, Shan's journey will be remembered by his JDJ performances. Can you honestly tell me people who don't know Shantanu, unlike us, his fans, have anything to remember from his performances thus far, say in a year from now? I don't know Shakti/Lauren personally, and to be honest, I neither avidly follow them personally nor do I care much, as I do for Shantanu for example. However, the truth remains that they've given some of the best performances that JDJ had ever seen. Heck, even Salman-Lauren as challengers had better 1 min choreographies than Salman does now.
Shantanu is a grown up, responsible performer in this industry. He chose to handle both shows at the same time, when Shakti didn't. Her life, her choice. Maybe she thought she ought to dedicate more time to her dancing, be it in JDJ or elsewhere. Who are we to judge whether she did right or wrong? We neither know the circumstances of her decision, nor the reason. Giving the reason that she gave better performances than Shantanu because of her personal decisions is just absurd. Siddhant I hear, quit his show to participate in JDJ as well. So? It's their decision to partake in. Shantanu could have quit his show as well, he chose not to because of the kind of person he is.
I have the utmost respect for Shantanu about how he handles things, and I know how much of a dedicated, talented individual he is. He's a gem, no doubt. But at the end of the day, this is a dance show. He is far more than what he's been performing right now, that's all I'm saying. And so is Salman by the way, who's off screen personality I completely dislike. Alisha isn't a pathetic dancer, in fact, she's as good as Shakti if she wants to be. And by the way, so was Jai. He was my favorite for years. Lazy choreography is unacceptable from their part, that's all I'm saying. Having a good/bad contestant is only part of the excuse. Punit and Tushar gave praise-worthy performances even with non-dancers, because they put thought in it. So did Bhavna and Shampa. Macy/Nimit know Shantanu out and out, for me, good choreography would be giving him something that challenges him, that brings out a side I haven't seen. I already know how awesome Shantanu is. I want to see how much further he can go. Isn't that what JDJ is about? Or did I mistake the purpose of this show?
