That was a choice that they both made. Shakti wanted to focus on dance, so she quit. Shaan had no problems multitasking, so he didn't quit his show.
First of all, I don't believe that hip hop is out of Shakti's comfort zone. Aerial definitely is because she was deathly afraid of heights. But both her and Tushar went out of their comfort zone. Tushar did a funky Bollywood act, which seems simple but not for him because that's not his style, and it was cute. But I do remember for Teek Ka Tadka with Mukti, they did Tandav. Or was it Chau? Nah, I'm pretty sure it was Tandav.

Time factor matters. More so in this season when participants have to prepare 2 acts in 4 days and perform consecutive acts in 2 days simultaneously. Shantanu barely gets to sleep for for 2 hours. Last week one day before the shoot they rehearsed till 5 am in the morning and again came back by 9 am to practice again. Even Alisha keeps saying time and again how much Shantanu is exerting himself . If taking into consideration all these factors makes me a blind fan , then I am happy to be one. He is a dancer and thats why he could still manage to give some amazing performances. Salman in his insta post says he rehearses for 16 hours a day. Shantanu barely gets 4-5 hrs. He is still trying to deliver.
And I don't want to comment on Shakti. I am sorry if this is rude. I wouldn't have mentioned her in the 1st place had one of the member here wouldn't have put her on a pedestal over Shantanu.
And fair enough if some of you find his performances not good enough...his Jhalak journey is still left ...I hope he is successful in the near future to meet your standard.

I'm not saying you're a blind fan, I'm just saying that Shaan made that choice to his show along with Jhalak because he thought that he could handle, and he is handling it because I have no complaints about his performances, just the choreography. We've seen Shantanu do things that are a lot more difficult than what he's doing, so all I'm trying to say is that he's not up to his full potential.
And Salman can rehearse all he wants, Shantanu's still doing much better than him.
Like I said, Shantanu is a lot more advanced than what we've seen him do on Jhalak, so I just want him to live up to his full potential, it's not even his dancing, it's the choreography.

I do genuinely feel what he has done on the show is pretty difficult as well and not easy by any means. Few tricks he has done in the show, I haven't seen him do before like for example his pelvic moves yesterday. I had no clue he could do those so well. 😆 And to try very difficult stuff, he again needs the time. Execution is as important as difficulty level For eg, If he ever tries aerial, I hope he gets it right and not screw up like Nora.
I also want him to do his signature moves more. Like one he does where he goes down backwards and slides down. Its known for us but not for many who are watching him for the 1st time.

@bold - I never put her on a pedestal over Shantanu. We were comparing time factors and decisions to quit shows or not. In fact, go back and READ properly where I even said the two have extremely different styles of dancing. I went as far as to say that Alisha could be as good as Shakti because she's got it in her. Between the two, I would choose Shantanu any day, because I love the kind of person he is. Praising my favorite doesn't mean I have to down regard someone else's talent or hard work. I utterly dislike Salman off screen, yet I mention time and again how awesome a dancer he can be sometimes. That's call constructive criticism. If you can't as a fan, that's your problem, not mine. I have loved SRK since a kid, I'd still call his shitty movies shitty. If I love Shan, I'd always want him to be the best version of himself because he deserves it to himself more than his fans. I ALWAYS want him to get a 30 on every single performance he does. If I've voiced my opinion out on when I thought he was underscored, why shouldn't I mention when I think his marks were alright or over scored? I prefer not being categorized as a blind fan. If that makes me a bad fan, so be it. I'd rather that. Of course there's utmost respect and consideration about the kind of hard work he puts in. Who ever denied that?

Also, saying this since you mentioned this earlier - if you don't like other IF members targeting you for passing comments on their favorite, then refrain from doing the same to theirs. Or saying things like 'I don't like talking about that woman.' That is as rude as attacking/bashing in my opinion. It downgrades the celebrity. If you don't like talking about a specific person, then don't. Simple. We don't know those people, at least I don't. Maybe you're very closely related to their personal lives or decision making circumstances. I give my perception of what is shown on my television screen. The personal decisions these people make is completely their pre-requisite, that's all I ever said.

I'm done here. Thank you for making me realize IF hasn't changed at all in all these years. Peace out. 👍🏼

@ underlined - Exactly. On point. If Shantanu manages to overshadow him with 16h vs 4h of rehearsals, then how awesome if that guy? Imagine him getting decent choreography then, what else could he do? Salman choreographs his own act, Shantanu has to come on set already tired after his shoots, trusting that that part of the job has already been done for him.

Anyhow, now that he's done with MTV GOT, he'll probably get some more time to rest. I don't care as much about his dance than I do about him not over-exerting and exhausting himself. He looked so tired in his last IV with Vrushika. And he'll have better time management for his acts now on, which I suppose need to go a notch higher because of competition, so great for him. 😳

If supporting Shantanu makes me a blind fan, then be it. And just coz you criticized him doesn't make your opinion 'constructive' and mine not. And as per me yes you did put Shakti on a pedestal and thats my opinion again. Since you called me out out for passing a so called rude comment on Shakti, then why are you making an opinion on Salman's persona offscreen either?
Yes I admit...I can't stand Shakti after the kind of manipulations she did in D3 which affected my favourites. Thats not my hallucination. Its my opinion based on facts. I still refrained from commenting on her. I don't want to get into it. And I did not start the comparison here.
You can't expect people to agree to whatever you write especially when you are making a comparison. And if countering that makes my opinion of that of a blind fan...then yay be it. 😊
I was the one who did not want to talk about Shakti and hence ended the discussion earlier with you.

And that's your opinion, you think what he's done is hard, and I think that he can do much better.
End of story.

@bold
MY POINT EXACTLY. Why is it so wrong for me to absolutely adore an actress or an actor, but suddenly when I decide to criticize them on something, I'm not a true fan. Like you said, we can rant all we want when he's underscored, but why not the same when he's over scored, what's big deal? We all just want to see him at his best, that's it.
