my take on the perfromances, i am an non-dancer so my thoughts are bsed on what i feel and think when i watch a performance. the scant knowledge i have is due to wikipedia😆 and watching other dance shows
shekar: it didnt interest me.. i skipped some of the dance bit... but it was obvious that there was no connection between the three of them and all three of them were there for personal reasons. vidya looked pretty and tried her best... shekar as usual was okay, tries too hard.. like remo said, the rawness, anger and sheer vitality of a man was missing.. so the score was fair. i would have given same marks for trying.

Daya: he is improving by the week, everyone has a niche, and daya seems to have found his.. it was a total paisa vasool performanc. the chreo, used his strengths (height and weight) to the max and devised a concept apt for the three of them... i was hooked on... i would have given 24.

sushant: what an AMAZING performance.. i am his die hard fan, and he is not in danger of falling in the overrated category.. he deserved it because, a) there were three people, harder to cordinate within 5 days, yet they did it.. b) strong concept, unique execution.. c) aamzing performance. sometimes, we can have a great chreography, but we can do justice to it, it falls flat. this time, the hard work is evident.. JDJ is judged on an all-rounder basis: dance, emotion, concept, choreo and the extra oomph...
dance is subject to interpretation, maybe some other judge wouldnt have given it 30, but given the parameters, it was fair and just and deserved.

ragini: too much emotion, not enough dance. i thought ragini overdid it with the crying. she is pretty but has an androgynous look, she needs to be careful, with overdoing it.. the problem was that, the chreo was trying to utuilise the strong points of ragz and jay: acting, and messed up a bit...
so 21 was a fair mark, i would have given 22/23..

I won't analyze fully, but will say something only about Sushant. He got highest 30 marks yesterday and others were far from him. So, only will tell my opinion for him.
It seems like this time Sushant is gonna win. Obviously, because he is a well trained...no, he is the most trained dancer here. He has got an amazing choreographer. He should get 30 each time, not for his dance, but for the concept and choreography. One thing, I must say that I think Sushant's dance steps are almost the same from that episode where he got first 30. Yesterday too I felt that this dance steps were done by him continuously for 3 episodes. He deserved 27 for concept, but his dancing was same as usual. Most of the steps were being used from the very beginning for him. Still he is getting 30. How lucky he is!! If Daya is to be blamed for using same and basic steps, Sushant too should be blamed for the same. The judges are concentrating on their previous charm about him, not on his present performance. It's very unfair for the other participants.
Please Sushant fans don't take it otherwise, but I'm feeling that it is being unfair with most of the contestants there except Sushant. Sorry, it's my opinion.

The lifts that Shekhar has attempted so far have been faulty, and I have mixed opinions about it. On one hand, he is quite old, but on the other, he is jacked and should be able to perform the lifts with ease. The choreography today was good, not bad, was somewhat vague, but still understandable. And I think Preeti needs to give more scope to Shekhar within a performance.

Daya- The bad part about the dance was that it was really very, very simple and basic, and unlike his previous performance(and Remo's previous comments), not suitable for a competition, especially at such a stage. But I guess that is justified due to the absence of Vrushali. Nice of Jai to help out, really appreciate him for that👏 Daya was good, but then again the steps were too easy, and the style was given the title 'Bollywood' aka an amalgamation of different dance forms aka freestyle dancing. Hopefully they give slightly more emphasis on the dance than the performance(if there is a next time, I fear that he's gonna get eliminated next)

Sushant- I think this time around Sushant really deserved a 30! Won't comment on the dance, wonderfully choreographed them, the storytelling was very creative and awesome, and what I liked is, even though Sushant was given most of the opportunity, Shampa and Reshma were given ample space to perform too! Wonderfully done!👏

Ragini- After Daya, I am a huge fan of Ragini. But like Neeta Di said, where was the dance? There was sooo much potential in this performance. But Neerav was not able to utilize it and transform it into a 30. Really disappointing!

Completely agree with your post. Sushant definitely deserved the 30, their performance moved me to tears. The coordination between the 3 was perfect and like Malaika said, it was the only dance that actually used the concept of Teen ka Tadka well.👏👏👏

I am really scared for Ragini. Her choreographer is more interested in making her act than dance. Also, does he fancy himself a scriptwriter??? 😕 Every dance is interrupted by some mushy, usually hackneyed dialogue. Even the concept of conjoined twins wasn't original....duh, we all know about Amber Dhara. To cap it all, despite her popularity, she doesn't get votes. If she gets voted out this week, I will blame Neerav for it.😡

Haven't watched ragini's performance .. but from whatever I saw in the promos and precap .. neerav seems to have messed it up big time ...
Nothing wrong with going for high emotional quotient .. but concentrating only on that and not the dance part is a huge blunder ..
if you are making conjoined twins dance , you need a real smart piece of choreography ..

Sushant is getting 30s, so scrutiny will start. If we go into dance, then absolutely there are flaws like his landing is never smooth, lot of time his legs shake. But anyway in comparision of other he and Yana are brilliant.

No offence to his fans as he is Pro dancer , and all the others look like bachas infront of him and Yana as well, its unfair or they are lucky.

I completely agree. her choreographer is very weak and lacks creativity 😕 I think she should get a new choreographer like gauhar did last year. her potential is being wasted =/

The below analysis of today's performance is entirely my opinion as viewer who has doesn't know how to dance or any other knowledge of it. feel free to share ur opinions as well.

shekhar and team - their performance was good and dancing was good, but little miss in coordination here and there, also the last lift resulted in Vidya falling. overall I liked it. marks - 21 was fair enough

you did? that wasn't paso doble, IMO. 😕 there wasn't even a flicker of aggression throughout the performance. it was too thanda and blah.

Daya and team - I loved their performance and was specially impressed by Daya. I think Daya and Saloni chemistry was rocking😆.it was very entertaining on the whole.Marks - 22 - little less still fair as vrishalini hadn't choreographed it - I think judges gave them less even though their performance deserved more, may be because they had extra help from Jay(even though reason was understandable, still).

hmm I think 22 was fair enough because concept wise, it wasn't a masterpiece. the concept was quite easy and it must not have been too tough to choreograph it. I think even concept counts for something.

Sushant and team - As expected from Sushant - different, well coordinated and choreographed, wholesome) - Marks - 30 - deserved.

I disagree. way too preachy and happy for a what's supposed to be a hard hitting climax.

Ragini and team - very nice emotional, touching performance dominated more by act than dance, as remo said if there was little more of dancing - it would have been fabulous.Marks - 21 - fair enough

agreed.

thanks for commenting! 😃

If Sushant wins Jhalak, it's cause he totally deserves it.

yes, but is the concept has to have a perfect execution aswell. It was good but the ending completely fizzed it out for me. 😕 anyway, to each his own.

I agree about ragini, she has so much potential but a bad choreographer.

Hello people!

I appreciate everyone's takes. Here's mine:

1.) Shekhar: The initial zing which I had liked in his first performance is no longer there! I was so wishing Sushant had done something like that in his first performance! And now what is Shekhar and his choreo doing?
I think Shekhar has lots of potential and his choreo really needs to work hard to bring it out in a better way.

2.) Ragini: When I had heard of the concept, then itself I was think how are conjoined twins gonna dance? If one is in love with Rags, then why should the other dance with joy and so on- doesn't make sense. And I was right. Very good concept, no doubt, but dance is foremost. They should have thought of it a little bit as how to whether the idea is executable or not. Just getting good ideas is not enough.

Ragini sure has a lot of potential- Neerav should use that and put the story alongside the dance.

21 was okay I think.😊

3.) Sushant: Some people said it wasn't as good as his 'Mrityunjay' performance. But I feel one cannot compare it with Mrityunjay. Mrityunjay laid more stress on storytelling and scenes, this one laid more stress on the 'three' and the dance-modern contemporary- expressing solely through body mvements. Mrityunjay was more on the classical side, this was a completely different form. Mrityunjay was a controlled yet fierce performance, this one was expressed in a different way. Mrityunjay was devised to be made grand, larger than life, this one- owing to its patriotic theme- was deliberately made to be somber.

I feel the two cannot be compared. If asked to chose one, I would chose Mrityunjay, I liked it more cos of its grandness and the story- but this act was perfect too. I understand why the judges gave Sushant a 30- he had done justice to the theme he had chosen- a patriotic one- done in a somber way, with perfect body language, and a really strong concept. He clearly had the best concept- when you hear the word 'three' the first thing that you imagine (If you are an Indian) is obviously the tricolour. It is synonymous with 'three' I feel.👍🏼

It would have been difficult to deduct marks, especially when the 3 had conveyed the message and theme most beautifully. Their expressions were spot on. The best part I liked was when Sushant (signifying peace) almost died out due to the fights between the two girls (signifying our religious fanatism which always affects the innocent party most)😭. Even the ending I liked- it was like a warning- when the two girls ran to a dying Sushant (peace)---- the message was---- analyse where we are going wrong before you ruin everything for everyone.👏

I always praise Sushant and Shampa, but I'll give a special word of praise here for Rashmi. Very good job done.

All in all, a well deserved 30, though Mrityunjay remains my favourite as of now.

4.) Finally---- Daya:

I'll be honest, I didn't like the scores given to him. I mean, if they were portraying Circuit and Munna Bhai, then they would be doing 'bhai type' steps na? So why should that be dismissed? I felt that the basic steps were a requirement of the dance this time. IF we had seen Munna and Circuit doing some complex dance, it wouldn't have gone with the theme.

Okay, choreography is important, but come on judges-- so less? I would have given him 24.

I want Daya to come with a dhassu performance next week, even Shekhar. They have the potential.
