hmm i would need to see a couple more of her performances and then only i can comment in an honest way.
but going by what Remo said that : "i will judge by who has a better improvement graph in terms of dancing". Sushant is a trained jazz dancer but Renuka is a non-dancer. So comparing between the two, they probably saw a lot of scope and hard work in Renuka's performance.
but like i said, i would have to see one or two more episodes to decide properly.

I don't think Renuka's performance was that great...it was as week as Anushka's. But I guess she was given marks out of judge's respect for her and also because of the fact that she was brave enough to take a step ahead and participate despite of her weight, i guess.

This has always been a problem in JDJ...one can never understand whether the marks are given based on the talent or the effort they put in. Many times I have seen it happening, if a contestant has had no experience in dancing before, they would receive high marks just because they made an effort...like if you are a sports person or a senior, you'll be rewarded with high marks no matter how bad your performance was! I'm not saying it happens all the time, but I have seen it happening many times!

Its more like sympathy...oh this contestant is dancing for the first time in life, lets give them 10/10 for their effort!

Today, Sushant and Ragini's performance was much much much better than Renka's. I think Renuka's was the weakest performance...yet she was given second highest score!

All I can say that its not fair to other contestants who are naturally talented and experienced at dancing...they put equal amount of effort, too! But just because they have done it before, their effort is taken for granted

I haven't watched the episode yet...but yes, yesterday, Renuka was exteremely weak as a dancer. But then again, she is dancing with people who are already experienced with dance like Sushant etc, so it is kinda fair to give her extra points on the basis of that. Plus, Madhuri ji might be biased towards her.

She did everything what the choreographer asked her to. So, ofcourse she was good.. she did all the steps with grace, INSPITE of being heavier than all the other contestants. 👍🏼
Inspite of being heavy, she could complete most of the steps, she needs to work on transitions though. She has got a loottt of potential, if she was lighter, she could have done a loottt more stuff. 😃

I do understand your opinions, and I completely agree that it is unfair to give out points for anything other than pure dancing ability and the way it translates into that particular performance.

However, personally I thought she did deserve the points she earnt in the first round. One, her choreography (Jai) was very sweet and interesting, plus the act did keep your attention. Two, she and Jai shared a very unique rapport and comfort, which increases their value as a dancing pair.

Furthermore, I thought she is really graceful and had the stage presence to hold the audience. Her smile is truly gorgeous, and her face is so beautifully expressive. Most importantly, when she expresses and connects with the audience, she brings with her a very feel-good and earthen factor - I can see the sincerity and honestly in her dance.

As an art, dance for me involved all these nittty-gritties mentioned above, so I thought she was really impressive yesterday.

Of course, these opinions are very subjective, so you guys might not have seen the same things I saw, but I just wanted to share my opinion. =)

JDJ is about turning non dancers to dancers
though i agree the comparatively renuka one is weak but jai(one great talented guy) innovatively managed to make the dance as good as possible, also dance is also not about a two perfect figures dancing like sushant or ragini,u know i love them n loved their performance but i doubt what they will do once they reach renuka's age
i wish jai makes out more of her

I was disappointed to see Renuka got more marks than Ragini and Sushant, who I thought did a better job than her. Her dance looked very weak in comparison to theirs.
