I have been watching these performances for many episodes and I feel the "choice of song" makes a big difference to an act at least for me. There are times when some of good songs are used, they overshadow the performance or it's faults just for being an awesome song. The overall effect of an act gets completely modified depending on what song they choose.
Example, for me, Karan Wahi performing on Jism 2 song, made the performance more intense. I like that song and was simply lost in it's effect that I thought he performed good, but speaking in terms of dance, it was an alright performance, definitely not a 30 performance. So here for me, the song did make a huge difference in terms of evaluating the act.
While in terms of Rashmi, the Alien act was one of the finest act, but their choice of song, Rakht Charit, made their act reach a greater height.
Now Talking about Isha, the angel act is another example. In terms of dance, it was flawless but not something different. But their choice of song and magical atmosphere made it look perfect and thus their perfect scores.
Personally speaking, I love how the acts are directed by keeping even minute details in mind from songs to costumes to make up to lighting. I guess, there is a reason why these choreographers go to an extend such that their act looks beyond what it actually is. And for me, "songs" make a big difference whether the act is a flop or a hit.
So do you think there are parts of an act that actually overshadows or masks the actual dance for you and do you think it is necessary on a stage like JDJ ???
P.S: I am hoping this topic won't be controversial. Keep it peaceful but interesting and no yawning 😆
