For those of you who, like me, were wondering why Gaurav did not turn up to cheer on Mona in Jhalak, yesterday in Popkorn, they showed him making up for it by giving her a surprise lunch. First they showed footage of Mona's name being announced as the winner, and her ecstatic reaction. The voiceover said, "Mona's victory felt incomplete in the absence of her best friend Gaurav Gera. So today Gaurav will give Mona a treat."
Mona's parents were leaving for the restaurant with her nephew Angad. Her Dad said, "Mona keeps giving us surprises, today we have a surprise treat planned for her." On the way they bought a bouquet for her. They went to a Punjabi restaurant (was it Urban Tadka where the JJKN gang used to hang out?) and waited for her.
Meanwhile, Gaurav went to the studio where Mona was recording for her radio show and spirited her away from there. She was surprised and kept asking where he was taking her, but he did not let on. When they arrived, the attendants showered petals on them as they entered. Then Mona's parents greeted her and told her this was GG's idea.
The whole family had lunch. Mona said, "I love everything they serve here—chicken tikka, kaali dal😳…." She was punching GG and saying that he did not even turn up for a single gala though she asked him to. He shot back that he was in Delhi when the final was on, but he recorded it and watched it at 11 in the night.😛
Then Mona said that though she owed her popularity to Jassi and she can never forget her first show, it was she who was dancing in JDJ, not Jassi; and that people need to understand that the viewers wanted to see their Jassi grow, lose weight, do new things…and JDJ gave her the chance to do all that.
GG related a dream he had that morning: that both her and Mona had reached the finals of JDJ and their friendship had turned to rivalry and they were fighting and pulling each other's hair😕….Mona quipped that it was just as well that GG did not turn up for the shoots, or she would never have won😆. (GG showed mock indignation.)
Awww….good to know that though her best friend could not make it to her shoots, he could plan something like this for her; it was lovely to see them all relaxing and joking as a family. And the best part was—no KO!😉
