Armaan and Jassi stand staring at each other across the yawning gap of their room.
Then Armaan, with one long stride, reaches her, gives her one intense look, and pulls her possessively, almost roughly into his arms. An astonished Jassi snuggles helplessly against him.
Armaan: (emotionally) I missed you Jassi!
She clasps him tighter. He leans and kisses her hair. She looks up at him, tears hovering in her eyes.
Jassi: (trembling) Armaan, mujhe aise phir kabhi chod ke mat jaana….I love you Armaan!
Armaan: (passionately) I love you Jassi! (composing himself) Kal main tumhe dinner pe leke jaunga…..wahaan sirf main aur tum honge….aur saari problems, saari tensions ko hum peeche chod denge……okay? (smiles)
She beams back at him. "Okay!"
Next morning :
Raj is sitting before his mirror, surveying himself pensively.
Raj: Tujhe kya ho gaya hai Raj? Tu wo Raj Malhotra raha hi nahin jise log jaante the….zara dekh apne shakal, ekdun Devdas ho gaya hai….pehle apna pyaar khoya, ab lagta hai ki apne best friend ko bhi iss tarah kho dega…..be a man yaar..! (sits upright) So theek hai….aaj se no more Devdas…..and no more Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar! Beauty aur Nandu ko apni problem khud suljhaane ka time aa gaya hai…..aur tera time hai, apne liye ek achchi ladki dhoondne ka……your time starts now!
In GM, heads turn as a beautiful female glides across their corridors. It is Francesca, the girl JandA met in Goa. She goes up to the reception and asks for "Mrs. Jassi Suri". She is informed that Jassi is on maternity leave.
Francesca: To phir….main Mr. Armaan Suri se mil sakti hun?
She is directed towards his office. Raj is passing by. He sees her and stops short in his tracks. "Raj Malhotra, lagta hai Operation Soni Kudi shuru hote hi kaamyaab hone wala hai…..you are too good yaar!" He assumes a swagger as he walks towards Francesca.
Raj: Excuse me….may I help you?
Francesca: Please…..aap mujhe Armaan Suri ka cabin bata sakte hain?
Raj thinks, "Kya yaar…..shaadi shuda logon ki kismet kitni achchi hoti hai….ab bhi ladkiyan Armaan Suri ke naam se khichi chali aati hai….aur yahan eligible bachelor le patta saaf ho gaya……"
Francesca is gazing in puzzlement at him. Recollecting himself, he tries again, "Aapko Mr. Armaan Suri se job hi kaam hai, aap mujhe bata sakti hai….main iss company ka VP Marketing hoon…..Raj Malhotra." He extends his hand, which she coolly takes. After shaking it, she tries to pull it back, and Raj leaves go only reluctantly.
F: Pleased to meet you, Mr. Malhotra, par yeh kaam thoda personal hai….
Raj raises an eyebrow. "Personal?" he thinks in dismay, and makes a last-ditch attempt.
Raj: Actually, Armaan abhi office nahin aaya hai….aur main Armaan ka best friend hoon, wo har baat mujhse share karta hai….agar aapkojaldi hai toh, aap mujhe….
F: (seeing through his flirtatious behaviour) Haan, mujhe thodi jaldi toh hai….par main yeh personally dena chahti thi….anyway, main aap ki baat maan leti hoon……isse Mr. Armaan ko de dijiyega…..(holds out an envelope; Raj looks quizzically at it)……..Meri shaadi ka card.
There is a sound of something crashing in the background. Raj stares in comical dismay at the envelope. Reluctantly he takes it. "Oh yeah…..sure!"
Armaan appears from behind. "Francesca….aap! What a lovely surprise! Saagar nahin aaye?"
They exchange warm greetings. F explains that Saagar was coming but was held up at the last moment. They are scheduled to get married next month, and JandA are specially invited.
Armu: Of course hum aayenge! Aap ghar jaake, Jassi se mil lijiye….main aapko drop kar deta hun!
F: Nahin, main thodi jaldi mein hoon……aap logon ka shaadi mein aana bahutu zaroori hai….(turns to Raj and holds out another envelope) Aap bhi zaroor aayiega..!
Raj nods bemusedly. As Francesca leaves, he sighs and says, more to himself than to Armaan, "Abe yaar….kitni mushkil se koi mili thi, wo bhi….."
Armaan casually claps him on the shoulder before passing on his way. "Teri timing galat hai! Itna try karna chod de….jo tere liye bani hai, wo tujhe apne-aap hi pehchaan legi!"
He laughs and walks away.
Raj makes a face. "Lagta hai main zindagi bhar bachelor hi rahunga!"
Tomorrow: A new secretary arrives for Raj.
