Chapter 7

Picnic Spot

"Adi!!" shrieked Roshni in excitement as she went near Aditya.

He turns around and gets stunned to see her.

Siddharth's face turned sour as they embrace each other in a tight hug. He eyes his hands around her waist and grits his teeth controlling his anger. He had no interest in listening to what they were talking about as all his attention was grabbed with their closeness. There was an instant urge inside him to go there and break his face. Aditya lifts her chin up and pokes her nose while she giggles aloud. He throws the bits of grasses that were clenched inside his fist, on the ground and gets up immediately. He takes a small step towards them but stops when Kritika calls out to him,

"Sid, click our pics!" she handed him his camera. Siddharth looks at the camera and then looks at Roshni. His mind raced with conflicting thoughts, one wanted to go towards her and the other told him to stay and click the pictures. He bites his lips hard; Kritika shakes his shoulders and raises her brows.

"Are you even listening?" she asked.

He looks up and sees her,

"Yea let's go click pictures with the waterfall in the background!" he said with fake enthusiasm.

The others walk towards the end of the garden from where they could see the waterfall; Siddharth strolls behind them still looking at the camera.

"Thank God Kitty saved me today! Why am I getting affected with them! Let her do whatever she wants to do! What do I care! That night was just a mistake; people do stuff like this all the time!" he thought.

From the corner of his eyes he steals one last glance towards them and then closes his eyes to shake of the unwanted feelings from his mind. He takes deep breaths and calms himself down; when he opens his eyes again he grinned and ran towards his siblings.

After clicking pictures for a while Kritika says,

"Uff, this is such a bore! I feel like a haddi in between these kababs!" coming towards Siddharth.

"Tell me about it! I feel like I am a honeymoon photographer!" he said while clicking another snap of the love birds.

"I have an idea!" said Kritika looking somewhere behind him.

"What?" he asked and turned around to see where she was looking at. Before he could understand her motive and stop her she had already called out to them. He sighs in disbelief and stamps his feet in anger. Kritika grins looking at his cuteness and says,

"Aww lil bro when will you grow up?" she hits him on his head.

Meanwhile Roshni and Aditya join them. Roshni introduces him to everyone and finally to Siddharth.

"And this is..." she gets cut off when Aditya says,

"Shorty, right?" he asked with a smirk on his face scanning Siddharth.

Siddharth makes a face and then glares at Roshni as she was biting her lips trying to hide her laugh. He pats Aditya's back lightly and says with a fake smile,

"It's Siddharth."

"Oops! How can I forget! I am so sorry Rosh!" said Aditya and the others look at him with confused expressions.

"Sorry?" Roshni said with bewilderment.

"It's your copyright hai na?" he said with a laugh.

Roshni's eyes widen up and Siddharth looks at her with amusement.

"You don't remember how you used to get angry-" she cuts him off before he could spill out the details, with her laughter and hits him on his arms playfully.

"Arre baatein baad mein karna, let's go trekking now, or else it will get dark! Waterfall ke paas jaana hai ki nahi!" interrupted Yash.

"Yeah yeah! Let's go!" said Roshni aloud and Siddharth hides his laughter knowing very well that she was changing the topic.

"Aditya why don't you join us?" asked Sam politely.

"Yeah sure! Well, I'll just catch up with you guys!" he said and goes towards his friends on the other side.

Siddharth comes near Roshni as they walk, and whispers in a teasing tone,

"So you had a copyright over my name?"

"Just, shut up!" she retorted and walks faster leaving him behind.

They go gear up for the small trek trip up to the falls. Roshni was having a hard time getting the jacket and by the time she gave up and wanted help from someone, all had left except him who was keenly watching her.

"Argh!" she yelled trying to buckle it up for the hundredth time. He walks up to her and clears his throat making her look up at him in fury.

"Need some help?" he asked with glee.

"No!" she snapped immediately.

"Really?" he said with a smirk looking deep into her eyes and she loses her ability to speak.

They keep gazing at each other forgetting what they were even talking about a minute ago. Their ardent eye lock gets broken when Aditya says,

"I'm back!"

"Wow!! Are those flowers for me?" she said looking at the flowers in his hand.

"Yess!" he replied handing it to her.

She takes them and inhales its perfume,

"They are beautiful!"

"So are you." he said with a smile seeing her reaction.

She gives a friendly little hug to him and smiles at him. She then looks at Siddharth who was fuming in anger with their conversation. He bends down to tie his shoe lace ignoring her smirk on him, but every few seconds he stole a glance at them, keeping a check on what was happening.

"Uhh, Adi can you help me with these buckles?" she said.

"Aha sure!" he came towards her.

Siddharth curses them in between his breath as he tied his lace. Aditya ties the buckle slower than it needed to be. Siddharth could see it on his face that he was infatuated with her. On the other hand, Roshni was unknown to what feelings she had aroused in the hearts of the men around her. Roshni catches Siddharth looking towards her; he rolls his eyes in annoyance and gets up.

"Do you need any help with that, Aditya?" he asked pointing towards the buckle.

Aditya fumbles as his daydream breaks and finishes the task in his hand immediately. Together all three of them start their journey and soon catches up with the others.

"You know what Adi, Rosh never used to stop talking about you whenever she came home in vacations!" said Sam striking a conversation with him.

"Yea I had pakaofied di itna, that one day she literally slapped me and told me to stop talking about you!" recalled Roshni.

"Yeah I did that!" said Sam in between her laughter.

"Aww, I'm so sorry Rosh you got a slap coz of me!" said Aditya with a grin.

Yash engages him in a conversation and takes him away in front whereas the girls walk slowly behind them.

"He is so sweet!" said Kritika putting a hand around Roshni's neck.

"Yea isn't he? Unlike others!" said Roshni staring at Siddharth who was following them.

He clenches his teeth in anger and mutters something inaudibly, before Roshni could make out what he said, he slips and falls down.

Roshni breaks down into hysterical laughter, the other two goes and helps him get up. Sam turns around and scolds Roshni for her ill manners.

"I think you should bunk the trek bro" said Kritika as he gets up with her help.

"Ooww" he shrieked in pain as he tried to straighten up.

He notices that Yash and Aditya had return. Aditya keeps his hands around Roshni's shoulder and playfully strangles her. She giggles in return and all of a sudden the pain that he felt in his feet vanished away. Instead his heart was aching in anger -jealousy and frustration.

"I'm all right. Let's continue." he said.

They continue with their trek with Roshni and Aditya leading the way whereas the others walked behind them. Throughout the journey, Siddharth's feet kept hurting but he couldn't leave her alone with him.

"I don't know why I am doing this, but I can't leave. I just can't afford to lose my sight on her." he thought.

On the other hand, though Roshni was enjoying her reunion with her friend, but she couldn't help herself but notice HIM from time to time. She could see it on his face that his legs were hurting but still he tagged along. She couldn't understand why he was doing this.

"What are you doing? Why are you hurting yourself? Is it because of me? Or is it something else?"- she thought.

On reaching the waterfall, they decide to get wet under it. The others go on to have fun whereas Siddharth sits back on a rock and takes out his camera to take pictures. They pose and splash water on each other as he clicked - they were unknown that he was busy clicking only her solo pics.

After a while when they return, Siddharth was having a hard time taking his eyes off her since the wetness had made her look irresistible! His eyes move away from her as he gets distracted by the movement of others around him and falls on Aditya.

Aditya too was gawking at Roshni with a smirk on his face. Siddharth looks back at her, and sees that her clothes were sticking on to her body. He did not like one bit that Aditya was looking at her like that. He takes off the blazer he was wearing on top of his T-Shirt and marches towards her in haste.

"Wear this." he said without any emotions.

"What?" she asked him in surprise.

"Do as I say!" he said in a no nonsense tone.

"Are you out of your mind?" she retorted stubbornly.

"Bunny!" he said handing it out to her again.

"Why are you behaving like this?" she snapped.

He glances at Aditya once and then looks at her again. She notices where he looked, and raises her eyebrows asking him for an answer.

"Please." was all that he managed at the end.

She rolls her eyes in annoyance and snatches his blazer from his hand. He heaves a sigh of relief and leaves the place while giving angry glares at Aditya. Roshni wears the blazer and curses him, Aditya comes towards her.

"Hey!"

"Yep?"

"Uhh I wanted to ask you something!" he said.

"Just ask, why are you asking me?" she said as she kept her hair in front on one side of her shoulder.

"Are you and him together?" he asked softly.

"Me and who?" she said looking up at him at astonishment.

He points towards Siddharth and she bursts out laughing.

"Are you mad? Never!" she said giving him peace of mind.

"Good" he said inaudibly.

"What?"

"Nothing! Let's go!" he showed her the way.

"What was all that about Shorty? Were you jealous or something?" she thought in her mind.

She reaches the spot where everyone was already sitting; Kritika notices the blazer and says,

"Hey, did you steal it?" she asked playfully.

"Ahh, not my taste!" winked Roshni as she sat down.

The others were waiting for an explanation when Siddharth comes and says,

"I gave it to her. And you guys can stop behaving as if the world has come to an end." he rolled his eyes.

Kritika pulls his cheeks and says,

"I knew my bro was a perfect gentleman!"

"Ugh! Stop it, Kitty!" he said trying to escape her.

"Where is your chipku boyfriend?" teased Siddharth.

"First of all, he is not my boyfriend!" she said irritably.

"And second?" he asked with a smirk.

"He has a name. It is Aditya!" she said in anger.

"Aha.." he looks at the food that the others were taking out and continues,

"I am so hungry! Pass me the plate, bro" he said to Yash.

"Wow you made my favourite burgers!' he said in excitement and grabs it.

He places a kiss on Kritika's cheeks before having them. Roshni starts laughing hearing burgers,

"What is so funny about burgers?" asked Yash.

"Oh.. you guys don't remember?" she said with a smile staring at Siddharth.

The excitement that Siddharth had on his face suddenly vanishes away as he recalled the incident that Roshni was talking about.

[ FlashBack :

Roshni was glancing at Siddharth smugly, waiting anxiously for him to have his so called favourite burgers that he hadn't stopped talking about since the morning. As Siddharth took his first bite, her eyes widen up anticipating his reaction. And Oh boy! It was more hilarious than she had thought it would be. His eyes brims up with tears and he gulps down water in one go. He looks frantically all over the place and spots her laughing her guts out! Immediately he knew who the culprit was. He stomps his feet and comes near her in anger,

"Bunny!! How dare you!!" he yelled at her.

"What? Mind your tone, Shorty!" she responded calmly hiding her smile.

"You put the chillies in my burger!" he screamed at top of his lungs, making the teachers aware that a fight was going on.

"I did not!!" she said as she stood up.

"What is happening here?" asked the teacher.

"Ma'am she put chillies in my food!" said Siddharth angrily.

"I did not do that!" said Roshni and faked her helplessness.

"Siddharth, did you see her do it?" asked the teacher.

"No.. but..."

"Then how can you blame someone just like that? It is bad manners!" said the teacher scolding him softly. She takes his hand and says,

"Now come, let's get you some sweets!"

Siddharth leaves furiously; he knew that Bunny was behind it. But it was of no use complaining it to the teachers; he had to take the matters in his own hands. ]

"Jeej, you should have been there to see his red face when he ate those burgers!" she laughed along with the others.

"Ha ha!! Why are you stopping here? C'mon tell them what happened next!" he teased.

"What happened? Nothing!" she replied.

"Really? You forgot?" he said leaning towards her raising his eyebrows.

"Arre tum hi bata do, kya hua tha!" said Yash.

"Haan, so I knew it was her... I had to take my revenge.. so next day in school we had a small play..." he started.

[ FlashBack :

"Roshni go get dressed up, it's your act next!" said the teacher.

"Yes ma'am!" she left to go to the dressing room.

When she took out her dress from the locker, she saw that the white fairy dress was sprayed with red colour in the middle with big letters -

"Bunny the Loser"

"Shortttyyy!!!" she screams.

"Did someone call me?" said Siddharth coming out from his hiding place.

"I will kill you!!" she said throwing the dress at him.

"Aww.. catch me, LOSER!" he said playfully as he threw back the dress on her face to get a head start. ]

"Oh yes! I remember, poor Rosh couldn't participate in the play.. And she cried so much after coming home!" said Sam.

"Stop making up stories!" whined Roshni.

"See she is still a crybaby only!" teased Siddharth further on.

"No I am not!" Roshni reply angrily.

"Cry baby!" he taunted again with a grin.

"No!!" she threw few pieces of chips on him.

He throws some on her, and they continue with their childish behavior for a while, whereas the others try to stop their nonsense.

After their eating session was over, Yash and Sam gets up and tells them that they will go for a walk.

"Uhh.. just say it you guys need privacy!" said Roshni.

"No no... romantic walk or making out somewhere in the corner?" winked Siddharth at Yash.

Yash rolls his eyes and pulls Sam towards him by her waist, and he says,

"Think whatever you guys wanna think!" before leaving.

Aditya comes towards where the trio was sitting and asks Roshni to come meet his friends. Kritika insists that she could go, and hence Roshni leaves with Aditya.

"It's just me and you sis!" said Siddharth with a sigh and lies down.

"Nope, it is just you!" said Kritika as she got up.

"What? Where are you going?" he asked sitting up.

"I need to make some important calls in the restaurant. Will be back in a bit!" she said as she left towards the parking lot.

"It's just me and you bro, like old times!" he whispered to his camera.

Siddharth was clicking pictures randomly, when he notices Roshni and Aditya talking to each other in one corner of the park. He keeps his camera down as he tried to reason with his heart which was burning tremendously with an alien emotion. He looks at the blazer that she was still wearing,

"Why did I do that? I shouldn't have done it. What must she be thinking now? We had agreed that we would not think about that day, but then why do I keep remembering each and every detail about that short trip? Why can't I keep her off my mind? And why the hell, her talking with that idiot is making me jealous? He is her friend; I was never her friend... I... have hated her.. so how does it matter to me what she does? What are you doing, Bunny?" he thought as he kept staring at her.

"Do you remember our study sessions in your room?" asked Aditya as he took a sip of his drink.

"Yeah, instead of studying we always ended up talking and wasting our time! And how you used to enter the girls hostel, unnoticed!" she replied back with a smile as she remembered her hostel days.

Her eyes flicker for a moment to where HE was standing. Her heart beats slowed its rate as she gazed at him while sipping on her drink. If anyone looked in their direction, they would think she was talking with Aditya, but little they would know that her mind was totally occupied by someone else. A smile lingered on her lips, as she thought - "He was jealous of Aditya. He thinks I like him?" she stole a glance at Aditya, who was still saying something but she was least interested in hearing what he had to say so she went back to staring at him.

"I have no clue what people mean when they say they like someone, anymore. Shorty, what are you doing? Why are you behaving like this? Everything was just so simple when we were young. There was only one emotion I felt whenever I saw you - Hatred. But now every emotion is getting mixed up, I donno what I feel about you anymore."

She recalls his words which he had said earlier to her and stifles a chortle, she turned to look at Aditya who was still saying something and she smiles at him.

"So, you want to give a chance?" he asked with a grin.

"Chance? Kis cheez ko?" she asked slightly confused.

"You know.." he holds her arms and she looks down at the spot where he touched her

"To us?" he said staring genuinely at her.

"What?" she retorted in astonishment and removes his hands hesitantly.

"Oh, C'mon Rosh.. you were smiling the entire time I spoke! You know I always think about you! And... and the kiss we shared... I can never forget about it... about you..." he said taking a step towards her and holding her shoulders.

She looks up at him in surprise and remains dumbfound.

"Kiss? What kiss is he talking about!" she thought. Suddenly she remembers her hostel days and that day when they kissed.

"That was just a dare" she said to herself.

She could feel an intense stare on her, and from the corner of her eyes she saw him staring towards them.

"Adi... what are you talking about? That was just a.."

"No Rosh, it wasn't only a dare! It meant something too!! A kiss always means something!" he cuts her off.

"What is wrong with you? I thought we agreed on it? That it was just a stupid game!" she replied back instantly trying to shake his hands off her.

"I know I said that! But I didn't wanna lose my years of friendship with you" he said gripping her tighter than before.

Whatever happened after that, just occurred in mere seconds, Siddharth had reached the spot by that time, he removes Aditya's hands from her shoulder and before Roshni could complete her sentence,

"But Adi, I don't feel-" his lips was on hers.

He cups her face in his hands and gently kisses her, at first she was too stunned to respond. But then she deepened it further as she encircled her hands around his neck pulling him closer to her running her fingers through his hair. His hands run down to her waist making her stand still.

haha jealous sid! n he disnt give a chance that rosh can say yes,no or anything to adi :P lolll dey kissed in front of adi buhahah!
