Chapter 6
Roshni's Room
"C'mon get up!! Up Up Up!!" Sam claps her hand as she comes near her sister's sleeping figure. She snatches the blanket from her and Roshni moans,
"Uhhh.. Di.. stop it..Please.." she murmurs.
"We will get late" said Sam and shakes her up.
"Late for what?" she asks sleepily, stretching her hands up in the air.
"Picnic!!" yells Sam in annoyance.
"I don't wanna go... he will mess up my mind again..." she lays down again to sleep.
"Whom are you talking about?" asks Sam in confusion and then notices her shirt.
"Whose shirt is this?" she continues.
"His..." she replies back sleepily.
"His...does he have a name?" Sam muses and sits down excitedly beside her.
"Uhha...his name is...S..." all of a sudden she remembers his face and gets up in a jerk.
"Huh?"
"Arre.. nothing... we are getting late na? C'mon move... I need to freshen up..." saying that Roshni rushes inside the bathroom and bangs her fist on the wall.
"I think she has fallen in love, I need to know who the guy is!" whispers Sam to herself and leaves.
Outside
"How many baskets are there? Pura kitchen utha ke le ja rahe hai kyaaa?" yells Siddharth while keeping the basket in the jeep.
"Shut up, and keep it in" retorts Kritika while handing him another bag.
"We can buy food too, you know!" he spats at her.
"Yaar ghar pe jab chef hai toh why buy outside food!" butts in Yash as he keeps his arms on Kritika's shoulder.
Their argument gets interrupted when they hear Sam whistling while walking towards the Jeep.
"Woaah... Sexxy Jeep!!" she admired it.
"And what about me, baby?" Yash walked towards her raising his brows.
Sam ignores him and rolls her eyes as she gets up at the back of the Jeep. Yash stares at her and then his eyes fall on his siblings who were laughing like mad. They stop laughing as he glowers at them angrily. Kritika gets in the jeep beside Sam and they start talking among themselves. Yash comes near them,
"Why don't you sit in front, baby? I am driving!" he says sweetly.
Sam ignores him and Siddharth stifles a laugh underneath his breath. Yash keeps his hands on his shoulder,
"Enjoy the long drive, brother!" he said and gets up at the back of the jeep sitting opposite Sam.
"Hey!! Not fair!! You were supposed to take us there!" yelled Siddharth at him, but it was of no use coz no one paid heed to him. He sits on the driver's seat angrily and puts on the seat belt. He looks at the Patel house; there was no sign of her.
"Where is your late lateef sister? Sirf naam ki rabbit hai, chaal toh kachue se bhi aaste hai!" he said out loud in anger. Just at that moment Roshni rushes from the front door towards the car.
All the anger that was boiling inside him suddenly vanished into the thin air as his eyes fall on her. His jaws drop a bit and he gazes at her as she runs towards them. She was wearing a red checked shirt which she had tied up to her waist revealing her navel; with navy blue hot denim shorts and boots it became really difficult for him to not stare at her. His eyes travel up and he notices her hair. It was wet and messily spread all over her face, and then he finally sees its length. She had cut it short upto her shoulders.
His anger that had seemingly vanished in the thin air returns, Roshni tries to climb at the back of the jeep but Yash doesn't let her.
"Sissy, sorry no place!" he said playfully.
"Oh, c'mon Jeej! There is a lot of place, hatttooo" she tried removing his hands.
"Excuse me! Main driver nahi hoon! Someone has to sit in front too." he said out loud through his teeth controlling his emotions.
"Jeej, why don't you sit in front?" said Roshni. Sam was looking at the other side; Yash pulls Roshni near him and whispers,
"Your Di is angry, please samjho..." he pleaded. Roshni looks at Sam and then at his puppy face; she gives up and says,
"You owe me one"
"Yes!! Thank you lil sis, I will remember that!" he said happily and sits while Roshni sits in the front.
Siddharth taps his fingers on the steering wheel as she sat and tried putting on the seat belt. But it was stuck; he had had enough of waiting. He snaps and roughly takes the belt from her hands.
"Oww.. what is wrong with you!!" she spits angrily at him.
"Ek seat belt lagana nahi aata, pata nahi kaunse zoo se aayi hai!" he murmurs inaudibly.
"Listen! I am not in the mood to argue at the moment, so just shut up!" she retorts.
"Main bhi koi..." he fastens the belt and looks up to see her but gets cut mid sentence as their faces were inches apart.
Sometimes hours can feel like minutes whereas a single second can last a lifetime. This was definitely the latter, their eyes get hooked onto each other and they forget everything.
[ FLASHBACK :
She didn't care what the time was, she didn't care that it was too late and she needed to sleep. She just couldn't let go of the sight in front of her. He was sleeping beside her, his arms around her pulling her closer towards him, not wanting to let go of her. Her head was placed on his shoulders and she gazed at him with affection. She smiles broadly and rests her head as her fingers linger on his chest. Her phone buzzes and she hurriedly silences it - so that he could not be disturbed. She removes his hands slowly and tip toes towards the window, it had stopped raining.
"Hello?" she whispers.
"Rosh!! Uhh I have sent the car, it will reach in an hour or so.. have messaged you the driver's number so coordinate with him!" said Sam from the other end.
"Diii!! I told you that I will manage, why have you sent the car?" she whines.
"Listen, this is not your Paris! I can't sleep thinking that where you must be stuck at the moment! Pata nahi kaise motel mein you are staying! I told you not to take a bus but you didn't listen! Abh, jaisa main keh rahi hu wahi karo chup se!" she replied sternly and Roshni knew she couldn't argue any further.
"Ok, I'll call once I get in the car." whispered Roshni and cuts the call.
She goes inside the room and once again tries to open up her luggage. After some struggle she unzips it and changes her clothes. She takes a paper and scribbles some words on it. Keeping it under his camera, she comes towards him one last time. She caresses his cheeks and he moves a bit in his sleep, she grins and whispers,
"Kaise kumbhkaran ki tarah sote ho!" she chuckles softly and pokes his nose, "Ahh.. you've made me feel such emotions jo maine pehle kabhi nahi mehsus kia.. I really like you.. maybe even more..." she closes her eyes and blushes, "Cya soon, Sid.." she kisses his cheeks and keeps looking at him before she gets up to leave. ]
Her wet strand of hair lands up on his face and they return back to reality, as well as his irritation returns.
"I hate this." he muttered softly.
"Sorry?" she said trying to understand what he meant.
"Why did you cut your hair? I liked it long." he said but with a bit of anger this time.
"Whaat?!" she was confused and slightly amused with his reaction.
"Uhh.. I mean... I mean if you can't keep these small strands to yourself then why did you cut them!!" he removes the hair from his face. Before she could get back at him, they get interrupted.
"What happened? Jeep apne aap aage nahi barhegi!!" said Kritika from behind.
"Exactly, can we start with our adventure?" added Yash.
"Yeah, I was just..." mumbled Siddharth and ignites the engine.
In no time they were on their way to a nearby picnic spot, in the outskirts. Yash and Sam keep on arguing about the girl whom he had kept looking onto, while Kritika was getting frustrated with their talks. On the other hand, Roshni was slightly elated with Siddharth's reaction to her haircut. Whereas Siddharth was cursing himself for speaking a bit too much in front of her. Yash takes out a Rose from inside his jacket and gives it to Sam,
"I'm really very sorry baby!! Please!!" he said genuinely.
Roshni switches on the radio at that moment. The music starts playing and Kritika hums along with it.
Sam takes the rose from him and hits his head with it. He grins broadly and hugs her; a car passes from behind with few girls in them. A girl waves a "hi" to him and he blushes; which doesn't go unnoticed by Sam.

Sam pinches him hard on his arms. She pushes him away and Kritika laughs. "Arre, I didn't do anything this time!! The girl waved towards me!!" he pleaded. Roshni turns around to see what is going on, and joins Kritika in giggling.

Yeh dhamaka kaise koi sahe..
Yash gets down on his knees and holds his ears. "Sorry na!! I love you Sammy! If you don't forgive me I will jump from this jeep right now!" he said as he got up. Sam hits him again and hugs him. Yash rolls his eyes and thanks god!

Roshni gets up from her seat and sings along with the song. Sam and Yash loosen their hug and they too join her in singing. Siddharth grins and gets mesmerized seeing her carefree nature. He too, taps his fingers on the steering wheel

Roshni bends down to increase the volume and Siddharth too raises his hand to do that at the same time. Their hands brush against each other and they look up to see the other. She withdraws her hands hesitantly while Siddharth volumes up the song. Their face lingered a smile as they looked away from each other.

Kritika takes out her phone and calls up everyone close so that they could take a selfie. They all pose with weird faces and click pictures. At the end, Siddharth was gazing at Roshni, while she smiled looking towards the camera. Kritika hits on his head, "Dude, camera saamne hai!" He mouths a sorry and looks up in front. Roshni flushes a bit seeing his behavior.
Niyat ko dil ki hamesha hi sahi thi,
Dil ka irada bhi samjho nek tha,
Yash takes out a box and gives it to Sam. Sam opens it up excitedly, and finds earrings inside them. Roshni snatches it and has a look, "Wow, Jeej this is beautiful!" she butts in. Kritika pats Yash's shoulder and tells him he has good choice.
Fitrat aawara to kya kare bechara,
Usko ho jaaye dil jisko dekhta..
"Show me too, I am not the driver you know.." teased Siddharth. Roshni places it in front of him and says, "Look, isn't it pretty??" Instead of looking at them, he kept staring at her and the happiness in her face. "It's damn beautiful" he uttered.

"What is wrong with you?" she asked when he was caught staring at her. "Uhh.. I need to tell you something.." he replied while biting his lips. She raised her brows, and he says it at one go, "I..I can't stop thinking about you since that night." But she couldn't hear him as a truck passed making a lot of noise.

"What are you saying Shorty?" she asked politely. He just shrugs it off shaking his head to a Nothing'

"Arre give back the earrings, I want to make her wear it too!" screamed Yash from behind.
"Jeej, pleaseee.. no romance in public, do you want us to be sick?" teased Roshni.
"Yeaa, I am with her on this one!" said Siddharth and gives a high five to Roshni and they smile looking at each other.
The others look at them with their mouth wide open, Kritika's eyes widen and she says,
"Bhai, pinch me! Is this for real?" in a trance.

Roshni withdraws her hands immediately and tucks her hair behind her ears. She sits down and starts thinking about what was happening. On the other hand, Siddharth too couldn't understand what was wrong with him.
Hothon se jaane kya kaha, phir bhi dil ki baatein hai dil mein,
Yeh raha tera humsafar, kisko dhundhe dil ki mehfil mein,
Jaan hai phassi, kaise naa hassi, aaye haal dil pe..
He thanks God that Roshni didn't hear what he had said earlier. He reminds himself that the girl sitting beside her was none other than "Bunny" whom he has hated almost his entire life.

Slowly they turn to face each other at the same moment, their eyes meet and the confused expressions that their faces bore changed to something else - Anger.
"Raasta saamne hai, look in front and drive!" said Roshni arrogantly.
"No I will not. What are you gonna do, Bunnny!!" he spat back to her.
"Listen, stop calling me that Shorty!" she retorted.
"You, stop calling me that!" he snapped back.
"Uhh guys? Am I disturbing?" said Kritika.
"No!" replied back Roshni instantly and looked at Kritika.
"Yes!" he said at the same time looking at Kritika furiously.
They turn to look back at each other and start their bickering again, when Yash interrupts
"We have reached already! Get over your fights!"
They get down, when Siddharth and Roshni look around themselves and see that they had reached their spot. Siddharth was not even driving when they had started their fight! They mentally hit themselves hard for being so careless and decide not to indulge in a conversation with the other anymore throughout their picnic.
They chose a spot near the waterfall, and began unpacking.
"Hey, Rosh.. isn't that Aditya?" asked Sam looking at the far corner of the garden.
Roshni turns to see where her sister was pointing at, and indeed she was right. It was Aditya, her hostel buddy.
"OMG. Yes that is him!" she said excitedly and gets up.
"Wow, he has grown up to be so cute!" said Sam.
Yash coughs and looks at her, she says, "Not more than you na, baby!" pulling his cheeks and making him blush.
"I'll just come.." said Roshni and walks towards him.
[ FLASHBACK :
Aditya was one big kid, he was tall and strong. When he visited Goa for a vacation, he had come to meet Roshni too. Their families were having lunch together in the Patel Household. After lunch, when the parents got busy among themselves, a ball comes inside the house through the window. Aditya picks it up and says,
"Cricket? Rosh, c'mon even I wanna play.. let's go outside!"
"No, Adi... it is that guy who is playing.. remember I told you about him!"
"Oh, yaar tab toh aur maza aega... main usko hara dunga and then you can tease him more!" he said and Roshni got convinced happily.
They go outside and see that Yash and Siddharth were looking for something in their garden.
"Looking for something?" he shows the ball to them.
"Who is this Bunny? Your Boyfriend?" teased Siddharth as he came towards them.
"What's to you!" replied back Roshni arrogantly.
"How about a one-on-one?" asked Aditya.
"Sure why not!" smirked Siddharth, "Tumko harake Bunny ko chedne mein bada maza aega!" he thought further on.
They begin their game, and guess who won??
Uhh.. no... Shorty was really short of scores to win the game! He lost the game. Roshni cheered for Aditya the entire time and when Siddharth lost she laughed at him terribly. When Roshni and Aditya turn back to go home, in anger Siddharth hit the ball towards Aditya's back. He falls down on the ground and watching Roshni getting concerned for him got him angrier. She runs towards him, and starts hitting and scolding him. He too retaliates; Yash scared what would be the outcome runs to call re-enforements - not military, but their parents!]
All were unknown to the brewing jealousy that was building up inside someone spreading its odour all around. Siddharth was pulling off the grass from the ground furiously as he watched her walk towards him. Aditya - Her Adi - How could he ever forget that guy? He used to hate him even more than her, mostly because he defeated him that one time and he interfered in their relationship - I mean the hatred relationship which they shared when they were young.
