Chapter 4

Khurana House

Siddharth comes down the stairs sleepily and goes to the kitchen. Everyone was sitting at the table eating their breakfast and they look up to see him.

"Good morning" he said as he yawned and sits on his chair.

"How are you this morning?" asked Raj.

Siddharth shows thumbs up to him and closes his eyes leaning at the back of the chair.

"Get up you lazy bum and stop eating breakfast like a tortoise!! We have loads of work to do today!" smacked Kritika on his head and leaves. He pouts at her but his mind races back in time.

[ FLASHBACK :

"Will you hurry up and stop walking like a tortoise!! Aisa na ho motel ke rooms fill ho jaye!" she yelled at him while dragging her luggage.

"I am walking as fast as I can!" he retorted. He was carrying three luggages with him. He stops to breathe and drops the luggages.

"Are you deaf? I told you to walk fast and you stopped entirely?" she shrieked at him.

"I cannot walk anymore! I am tired. If you are in such a hurry why don't you go and book a room! Or did you wanna share one with me?" he asked raising his eyebrows.

In frustration, she throws her luggage on the ground and comes near him, "I have no interest in sharing a room with you!!"she said angrily pointing a finger at him.

"Really? Then why are you not leaving me and going?" he winked at her.

"Because you are carrying one of my bags!! What if you run away with it?" she hissed at him.

"Did you just call me a thief??" he whispered in shock.

"Yes I did!!" she turned and lifted up her bag.

"Waaah!! Tabse mujhe chivalrous hone ka bhashan de rahi thi aur jab maine offer kia apna help toh mujhe chor bana dia??" he asked in exasperation.

"This is your chivalry? We are walking for the past half an hour! Half of the people must have already freshened up in their rooms! Agar room nahi mila na Sid.. I will..I will.. not leave you!!"she snapped at him.

"Good. Main kaunsa tumhe chodne dunga!" he teased.

"Ughh!! Stop bugging me, or else I will kill you in your sleep!" she said and started walking. He picks up the bags and grunts, as he followed her.

"So you do want to watch me while I sleep... perhaps sleep beside me?" he asked mischievously. She rolled her eyes in annoyance,

"f**k you!" she said and ignored all his teasing thereon till they reached the motel.]

Siddharth spurts the juice into the glass and smirks.

"Why are you laughing? Kis ladki ko yaad kar rahe ho?" asked Raj raising his eyebrows.

"What!! Girl! Please dad!" he said and gulped down the juice at one go.

"Oh!! I'm sorry! I thought.. waise beta we are very modern ladki ho..ladka ho.. jo bhi ho.. I just want you to be happy!" said Raj folding his newspaper and looking at him seriously.

"Daad!!" he said angrily and gets up.

"What?" asked Raj innocently.

"I'm going to the beach. I need some fresh air." he said and leaves.

"Something is definitely troubling him." said Raj to Simran.

Patel House

"C'mon Sam, finish your breakfast soon! Or else I will go to the beach alone!" said Roshni.

"Yea Yea, just 5 more minutes!" responded her sister as she gulped down her juice.

Roshni goes outside through the front door and sits on the swing hanging beside their porch waiting for her sister. She closes her eyes and breathes in the cool air relaxing her mind.

[ FLASHBACK :

"Ahh..Finallly!!" said Roshni as they reached the motel. She goes to the reception eagerly,

"Sir, we need two rooms." she said as she dropped the luggage.

"I'm sorry Ma'am but all our rooms are occupied." he responded.

"What? What did you say?" she asked as her temper rose.

Siddharth entered and came near her dropping the luggages on the ground as he stretched out.

"I'm sorry." said the receptionist and continued with his work.

"Sorry? Tum sabse sirf apologize karwati raho!" he teased her.

She turns around in anger and smacks him on his chest. She keeps poking at him, while he stepped backwards as she said,

"YOU! Just because of you I have to spend the night on the streets now!!" she yelled at him furiously.

"Arre Bhagyashree!! Not you, we!!" he winked at her making her angrier.

Before she could hit him more he holds her wrists, and in the process their bodies collide. She looks up at him and was about to say something when he says,

"Shhh!!" while putting his finger on her lips.

She looks at his fingers when he says,

"Yaar I had told you to run and book a room! Hadn't I? Why didn't you listen, huh? Yeh room na milna, it's not my fault entirely!" he said playfully staring deep into her eyes.

He could sense her being nervous due to their closeness; he removes his hands off her and continues, "I'll do something. Wait here."

He goes to the reception and engages in a conversation with the man. Roshni stands stomping her feet in agitation for some time and then leaves to go out. She sees a swing nearby and sits on it, waiting for him to return with good news.

"Agar aaj mujhe raste mein raat kaatni pari na, main iska khoon kar dungi!! Bhagwan ji ek khoon toh sabko maaf hoti hai na?" she said looking up in the sky and closes her eyes.

"Oye Madam!! I told you to wait inside na, why did you come here?" he asked sitting on the swing beside hers.

She shoots a glare at him and says, "I am not one of your bimbo girlfriends that will listen to you ordering me around."

"Girlfriend, huh?" he asked amused with her reaction.

"I mean a friend who is also a girl." she responded immediately with irritation.

"Really?" he asked raising his eyebrows.

She rolls her eyes in annoyance and asked, "So, what brilliant arrangements did you make?"

He looks at her mischievously and gets up; he holds her hands and drags her with him while she kept asking him what he was up to.]

"Oye Madam?? Chale??" asked Sam who was standing in front of her all ready to go to the beach.

"Yeaah.. Yeaah.." said Roshni as she gets up and follows her sister.

Beach

"Ahh I missed this so so so much Di !!" she said as she sat on the sand.

She closes her eyes, the glittering golden rays of the sun provides her warmth from the cool coast breeze that was hitting her face. She inhales the gentle gust of fresh air which was blowing around her. They had chosen a spot which was far away from the crowded area, so the only sound they could hear was of the waves slowly crashing on the shore.

The peacefulness gets broken when Sam whistles. Roshni opens her eyes and looks at the direction Sam was staring; two shirtless guys were walking towards them. No, they were not any random guys. It was Yash and Siddharth.

Roshni's jaw drops a bit as she scanned him from top to bottom. He was wiping the wetness off his hair from a towel that he was holding. He was wearing pants hanging from his torso that reached up to his knees. Yash said something to him and he laughs out loud as they walked. He shakes his head, maybe replying to what Yash said? - she thought. His laugh was infectious; it brought a smile on her face.

As he turned, and looked at her she immediately stops smiling and pretends to look somewhere else. She mentally slapped herself for looking at him like that and on top of that being caught by him! She could feel his stare at her face; she ignores it and lies down closing her eyes, not her ears.

"Babe, your hair is wet! You will get sick!" said Sam.

"Why don't you dry it then?" said Yash playfully making Sam giggle.

"Wow! What about me SIL? Won't I get sick?" Siddharth teased them.

"Ahh if you want someone to take care of you, get a girl..." said Sam.

"Or better get a nurse, a hot - sexy nurse" added Yash.

Sam hits him on his head, "So, you want a nurse?" she asked angrily.

"Oh no babe! I've got two in one, you're my personal sexy nurse-cum-girlfriend" he said huskily.

"Heyyy.. get a room you guys!!" said Siddharth after a few seconds.

Roshni smirks imagining Sam and Yash being goofy in romance, yes that would be a bad sight to watch for anyone and she felt bad for HIM.

"Come I'll dry it up for you, baby bro!" said Kritika.

"Ooo you followed us here too!!" replied Siddharth sarcastically.

"Shut up!!" she yelled at him and continued, "hey.. when did you hurt your arms?? Looks like a recent wound!"

Roshni sprang up to sit, and opens her eyes looking at them. All of them eye her suspiciously, but she was looking at him.

"Sam... is your sister mental by any chance?" whispered Yash only to get a smack on his head from her.

Siddharth stares at his wound and steals a glance at her from the corner of his eyes; she was looking at him scared at what he was going to answer.

[ FLASHBACK :

"Where are you taking me?" she asked in annoyance.

"You will see!!" he replied.

"I'm not going anywhere with you, what if you are a murderer?" she said.

He starts laughing, "Yaar mere itne bure din nahi aaye hai ki main tumhare jaise khoobsurat ladki ka murder karu... main toh.." he teased and comes towards her.

She takes a step back looking at him suspiciously, "What are you doing? Sid.. you.."

He stops in front of her and pokes her nose playfully as he said,

"You were telling him" - he points at the sky - "that you don't want to spend the night on the road? So, I just arranged something for you, taaki mera murder na ho!"

"Now come fast, I am very sleepy and tired! I just want to lie down now." he continued and starts walking.

She follows him and after a few minutes, she sees a cottage in front of them.

"Whose house is this?" she asked as they walked towards it.

"Your ancestors... haunted house hai... you donno?" he teased. She pushes him hard making him fall as she walks off.

"Kya zamana aa gaya hai bhagwaan.. ladko pe torture kar rahi hai yeh mahila.. sahi kaha tha maine.. daayan hi ho tum!!" he said getting up.

They reached the front door of the house, it was locked. He bends down and takes out keys from under a flower pot.

"How did you know the keys were there?" she asked in surprise.

"Jadooo.." he winked.

She glares at him and he puts the key on the lock while opening he says,

"That receptionist, he is the caretaker of this house - luckily for us - I was able to convince him to let us stay here tonight!"

"But what about -" she stops talking as he turns to look at her with a straight face.

"You got a place to stay na, then stop with your questions!!" he said and unlocks the door.

He pushes it, but it doesn't open.

"Abh isko kya hogaya!" he whispered and pushes it a bit harder but still it doesn't open.

Roshni comes to the door and gives a slight push with her hand, Siddharth starts laughing loudly.

"Have you seen my muscles?" - he shows his arms to her - "Stop embarrassing yourself by trying to open the door!" he continued.

"Really!! Itna hai toh khol ke dikhao!" she said angrily and takes a step back.

"I am trying to do that only!" he said, frustrated as the door was still stuck.

He takes two - three steps back and runs against the door to open it. The door flew open while he loses his balance, and he falls down on the ground. Roshni runs to the entrance and sees him on the floor, struggling to get up. She breaks down into hysterical laughter.

"Will you help me up?" he asked irritated with her.

She gives him her hand, and pulls him up. As they balance their self up, their eyes get locked onto each other. They were still holding each other's hands and were standing close. She gets distracted when she sees that blood was coming out from his arms, and shrieks,

"OMG. You're hurt!"

"What?" he said still in trance and looks at his arms.

He screams aloud, "Oh no oh no..blood!! I.. I... please take it away!" he said closing his eyes.

"It is your hand! How will I take it away?" she said in between her giggles.

"Stop laughing! You..You ungrateful woman! I'm..i'm.. I have blood phobia!" he said shutting his eyes too hard.

Roshni stops giggling and looks at him, he was genuinely terrified.

"Okay calm down!! I'll take care of it, just relax! Ok?" she said politely and makes him sit on the sofa.]

"Sid? Why are you grinning?" asked Kritika skeptically.

"Uhh.. nothing! I just got hurt while coming here on the road.." he said staring at Roshni.

"On road? Then how did you treat it?" asked Yash.

"With his hands offcourse!" said Sam unbelievingly looking at Yash.

"No actually he is squeamish of blood!" blurted Kritika in between.

"Ohh!! Really?" said Sam.

They kept bickering and talking about blood and blood phobia and maybe something else too, but THEY were not listening to them anymore. They were in their own little bubble still staring at each other. Their eyes mirrored their feelings. They both went back in time to recall how exactly his wound was treated. And to be honest, they were never going to forget that treatment in their life.

[ FLASHBACK :

"Will you hurry up!! I can even smell the blood now!!" yelled Siddharth with his eyes shut.

"Shut up! I am trying to find the first aid box, you idiot!" she replied going through the drawers.

"Are you out of your mind?? The door was freaking stuck!! Yaha koi first aid box nahi milega! Even if you get one all medicines will be expired" he yelled back.

"Oh shit. I forgot about that! Wait, I think I have an idea." she replied and goes to her luggage.

After a while, she sits beside him and says,

"You have to open your shirt."

"Why?" he asked opening his eyes looking at her.

"Promise you won't freak out?" she said.

"Oh no.. it is bad isn't it? What has happened?" he said and turns to look at his arms, but she holds his face with her hands and stops him.

"There is a small glass fragment in your wound" she replied. His jaws drop open and he whispers,

"I think I'm going to faint now."

"Oh no no no!!" she yelled at him.

"Trust me, you won't get hurt. Just look at me. Promise? I can't deal with this alone." she said staring at his eyes.

He looks at her, her eyes was reflecting the same fear that he had. So he nods a yes. She cuts his shirt off with scissors as he was unable to open it. With a wet towel she removes the blood around the wound, then she takes out her tweezer and before she could pluck the glass out Siddharth notices it.

"WHAT IS THIS? What are you doing? Oh don't bring that near me!" he yelled at her face.

"Pich. Will you keep quiet? Stop moving so much!! How will I take out the glass from your arms?" she replied maddened with his antics.

"I would rather die with that glass inside me than let you pluck it out! It will hurt.. no no !!" he cried out.

It was impossible to calm him down, infuriated with his childish behavior and tired of the day's event all Roshni wanted to do was to sleep peacefully.

"Will you just - " in a haste she leans towards him and kisses him on his lips making him shut up. At first he was too shocked to respond, his eyes flew open when she kissed him. But after a few seconds he gives on to the kiss and starts responding back. However Roshni's mind was working, she plucks out the glass fragment as his mind got diverted and soon she breaks apart the kiss.

Siddharth gawks at her as she leaves him wanting more trying to understand what just happened. She smirks and lifts up the tweezer with the glass in front of him. He stares at the glass and then looks at his wound; he smiles as he comprehends her motive.]

"Sorry to interrupt your staring into nothingness bro, but we are discussing something important!" said Yash breaking his reverie. He looks at Yash and then the place where she was sitting, she was gone. He searches for her when Yash notices him,

"She has gone to take a dip in the water" he said.

"What? I wasn't searching -" he started but gets cut off by him.

"Yeah I'm not interested. You guys are acting weird since you were born so, anyway, we were thinking of going for an all day out picnic tomorrow! Are you in? I mean you are but you know-"

"Picnic? Where? With whom?" he asked.

"Just the five of us, you know. One last trip before my wedding?" he said.

"Picnic with Bunny?" he repeated making faces.

"Yeah deal with your emotions dude, you are coming. I was just informing." he said and leaves.

"I thought we were having a discussion!!" yelled back Siddharth to his retreating figure when his eyes catches a young boy making sandcastles.

[ FLASHBACK :

"Let's have a look what we got here?"said Siddharth smirking at Roshni's sandcastle.

"Go away, Shorty!!" she replied continuing with her work.

"Look at my castle, over there!! You can never make as good as mine!" he teased and laughed with his friends.

Roshni looks at his castle which was built near the shore, it was indeed better than hers. Then she noticed the huge wave that was coming ashore and she grinned.

"Size doesn't matter, let's see which one will last longest!" she said proudly.

"Yeah right, LOSER!" he replied.

In the next few minutes everything happened very fast, the waves crashed the shore and broke his castle, making Roshni laugh at him. In annoyance he stamps on her castle making her sulk in anger. She strides towards him and pushes him, and he falls on the ground. His friends start teasing him as he got pushed by a girl.

"Bunny!! You're a dead meat now." he responded angrily and runs after her.

"First catch me Shorty!!" she replied as they ran.

Finally he grabs hold of her when they were near the sea. He pushes her in the water making her wet and leaves grinning with joy that he took his revenge.]

He was smirking as he glanced at the seaside. Before he could turn his head, something holds his attention and he stares at her with his jaws open. She was walking towards where he was sitting flipping her wet hair onto one side of her shoulder. At this moment he finally notices what she was wearing. She wore a small tank top exposing her perfect belly and hot pants which revealed her long attractive legs.

"Why is this girl so hot?" he whispered to himself. As she reaches where he was sitting, she picks up an over-sized T-Shirt and wears it on top and then looks at him.

"Excuse me?" she said.

"What?" he replied in a daze.

"My hair band?" she said.

"You don't need one."

"What?" she asked confused with his statement.

"It looks better when it's untied." he replied.

She touches her hair and then looks at him; she bends down and takes her hair band which was beside him. In the process he keeps staring at her, while she pulls his chin up. She leaves ignoring him further on.

"How am I to resist when she comes like this in front of me?" he said inaudibly.
