Chapter 29

They sat in the car

R - don't ever do this to me again

N - i am sorry darling. I had to do it. Pam and you are both my life. I couldn't have us start our married life with Pam thinking you are not the best for me. And i could not tolerare Pam questioning your love for me. She is my sister but she needs to accept and respect you as my wife

R - still. I was so worried when i travelled in the rickshaw to work

N - lets forget about what happened. Lets go for our date

R - we are driving to the apartment?

N - yes. Where else do i get you to myself with no disturbance.

R - what have you planned

N - lets go up and see

They entered the house. Nachiket took ragini to his room blind folded.

N - ok now you can take of the blind fold and look around

Ragini was taken aback. The wall above the bed was full of their pictures from when they first met. Capturing all their moments.

N - i will change the pictures as we add more memories. Look this side.

Ragini saw that on the wall opposite the bed there was a picture from the party they attended a few days back. It was of them close dancing.

R - it looks beautiful

N - ok so now. I was planning to order some food from out. What do you want to eat?

R - Chinese...noodles please

N - sure. Let me go and order

After ordering Nachiket came back to the room and saw ragini sitting on the bed and looking at a photo album.

N - they are all old pics

R - there are so many albums here.

N - lets see these pics till the food arrives

R - where was this? Shimla right. Our first trip together in college. Remember how we got lost on that trek

Ragini went on and on. After a while she noticed Nachiket staring at her with intense eyes. She knew what would follow.

N - your wearing blue again today

Ragini looked at her saree.

R - its such an old faded saree

N - it doesnt matter

With that nachiket pulled her into a kiss. The photo album fell from raginis hand. Nachiket took her to the center of the bed and laid her down. She closed her eyes in anticipation.

She felt him move her saree from her waist. Nachiket began drawing circles on her stomach. His touch was feathery. He then came up and started kissing again. This time it was rough and demanding. All of a sudden Ragini turned him over and began to kiss him. After a few minutes the door bell rang. Nachiket sighed in disappointment while Ragini giggled

R - i think thats our food.

N - what rotten timing. Come out. Lets eat

They ate their meal together outside in the balcony

R - where are we going for our honeymoon?

N - thats a surprise

R - not fair. How do you only get to know? Atleast tell me what kind of weather to pack for

N - all i can say is we are going for a week. I am not letting you out of the room so don't worry about the weather

Raginis eyes popped out

N - okay. Maybe i will take you out once a day

R - so mean

N - ok. Its a beach area. So pack accordingly. Get some sexy bikinis

R - what! I dont even swim

N - who says bikini is only to swim

Nachiket winked at Ragini while Ragini looked away.

N - seriously its a beach place. You will love it. Just carry what you feel comfortable wearing.

After an hour Nachiket dropped Ragini home

R - so see you at 2pm for the mehendi

N - yes. Just 3 more days

Chapter 30

Ragini was up at around midnight just thinking about her new life. It bought a big smile to her face. She thought about how much of an effort Nachiket was making to make every moment special for her. He was staying true to his promise of making up for the lost years.

She thought its her turn to do something special. She called up Dimpy

D - hi ragini.

R - i need your help

The next morning both ladies were out in the mall

D - are you sure Ragini. You don't really have to do this. Nachiket likes you how you are

R - i really want to Dimpy

D - ok. But if he gets angry you better tell him i had nothing to do with this

R - sure. We have two hours. Lets get started.

D - Nachiket is very lucky to have you

R - i am lucky to have him

They finished shopping and Ragini reached home at 12.30pm

M - kidhar thi tum ragini

R - Nachiket ke liye shaadi ka gift lene gayi thi.

M - now get dressed fast

R - sure maa

A little after 2pm the grooms family arrived. Ragini was sitting in a dark blue outfit and was having mehendi applied. The mehendi ceremony just had around 20 people so maa prepared all the food herself.

N - maa yeh khana itna accha hain. Jo kuch bachta hain please pack kar dena.

K - sach aunty. Sangeet aur shaadi bhi yahi ghar pe kar lete. Itni amazing variety. Mazaa agaya. Nachiket main sab kha raha hu.

R - mujhe kuch milega

N - sorry i totally forgot.

Everybody watched in amazement how Nachiket got food and fed Ragini as her mehendi was applied. They looked so happy.

M - meri beti se bohot pyaar karta hain Nachiket

P - Dono ek dusre ke pyaar mein pagal hain.

D - karan mujhe bhi khilao naa. I have mehendi.

P - me too RK

RK - yeh Neil humara kaam mushkil karega

K - haan bhai. Banda itna romantic hain. Yeh Dimpy aur Pam ki expectations increase ho jayegi

P - shut up you two

D - get our food in next 2 minutes

Both the husbands ran

Ragini was done with her mehendi. She got up to check her phone that was in her room. With the tips of her fingers she was checking her messages when she heard the door close of her room.

N - need some help beautiful

R - why are you here? You locked the door? What is wrong with you?

N - you know why i am here. Still you ask

R - not now please

N - well you should not have worn blue

Ragini was pinned against the walk now with Nachiket really close

R - don't spoil my mehendi please. Don't ruin my hair and make up either. I cant do a touch up because of the mehendi

N - i cant guarantee but i will try.

Saying so Nachiket began kissing Ragini. He kissed her head, eyes, nose, chin and cheeks. Ragini had closed her eyes. He then spoke in her ears.

R - i think this much is enough for today.

Ragini looked at him

R - lets go out or all will wonder

N - i will go then you come after 5 mins.

It was time for the guests to leave.

P - thanks aunty and Ragini for today. We will see you tomorrow at 3pm for the dance rehearsals in the hotel. Then ragini can get ready around 6pm and so will we. The function will start by 7.30pm

D - bye ragini

R - see you all tomorrow.

N - see you.

At night ragini received a message saying that he can't wait for the two days to pass. Ragini smiled and replied same here.

The next day ragini was called by Rk to come to the hotel by 2pm as they had to do some more rehersals. Ragini reached the hotel and was greeted by Nachiket

R - RK kaha hain

N - jaha use hona chahiye

R - kahan?

N - at home

R - what?

Nachiket took Ragini in the lift upto a suite.

R - what are we doing here?

N - its 2.15. Everyone will arrive at sharp 3pm.

R - i know. So why are we here?

N - for this

Ragini looked at the table. There was a document kept there. He asked her to read it.

R - omg. This is awesome. When did you get to know?

N - today morning.

R - i am so proud. You deserve this.

Nachiket was being awarded by the government for his outstanding contribution in cardiology.

N - there is more. The hospital trustees have decided to invest in a new special cardiology wing. They want me to head it. I will be on the hospital board with Dr. Aman and others

R - that is great news

Nachiket pulled Ragini in a hug.

N - i was thinking if i could maybe have some dessert from my would be wife as reward

R - i won't say no

Nachiket smiled and began kissing Ragini. He carried her and sat with her in his lap on the sofa. Around 3pm he got a call from Rk saying everyone was ready for the rehearsal.

N - lets go. Another day to go. Then i won't have to stop at just kissing.

Ragini hit him playfully and they left for their rehersal.

Chapter 31

The sangeet was a grand affair. Ragini wore a yellow outfit with the delicate diamond set Nachiket had gotten for her.

P - Ragini this outfit looks amazing. Where did you buy this from?

D - its gorgeous. Nachiket has been stealing glances since you entered

R - my school friend owns a little shop in our area. She isn't famous or anything

P - she will be now. Give me her number. She could design for my india stores

R - sure pam

Soon Rk announced each act. Everybody enjoyed the party. It was about 75 close guests

M - nachiket bohot accha hotel hain

K - auntyji yeh mera hotel hain

M - waah beta. Tum sab itne amir ho. I never knew. I mean hum log toh...

Rk - aap bhi apni daulat dey rahi hain Nachiket ko

K - Ragini itni perfect hain. Plus Nachiket kabhi itna khush nahi dikha hain

D - perfect couple. Look how they are dancing

P - our husbands don't even ask us to dance

Rk - pam. Let their kids come

K - romance hawa ho jayega

N - what are you guys talking. We have one hour before we leave. Lets dance and take a lot of pics.

They all ran towards the dance floor. It was a night to remember.

R - i had so much fun today

N - glad you did. So all set for tomorrow. We will reach the hotel by 8am so can check the preparations. Maa gujju style shaadi hain. Aapko rasme kitne baje shuru karni hain?

R - 11.15am first rasam. Sab ready rehna on time

N - i am so happy reception honeymoon ke baad hain

Nachiket spoke loudly and got embarassed. Pam helped him out

P - reception full Punjabi style. Aunty non veg hoga please usme. Veg ka counter dusre side rakhenge. Is it ok?

M - haan beta.

K - ok so lets leave. Jaldi uthna hain

While driving home nachiket messaged ragini

" just few more hours till you are my wife. Thanks for making me soo happy. Now even Pam will be in India along with karan and dimpy. This is what i always wanted. A happy life with family and friends"

Ragini replied

" can't wait to call you hubby. Thanks for everything. I can't wait to see my handsome groom. So happy we are keeping the wedding intimate. Those stupid nurses won't be there to gawk at you."

Nachiket laughed and made a mental note to make an extra effort to look amazing for his bride tomorrow

The next morning was a lot of excitement. Everyone was up by 6am in both houses. Ragini reached the hotel by 9am. Dimpy was with her helping her dress up.

D - ragini you look so pretty. You know i always had this secret wish since college that you guys would marry. Its now happening and we are going to be neighbours.

R - even i can't believe its happening

M - beta photographer aya hain. Pehle tumhara photo shoot hoga. Nachiket is still not ready

D - waah bride is ready before the groom

M - arre nahi. Nachiket sab preparations dekh ke abhi gaya hain apne room mein

D - sasu maa is all for damad

M - kyun nahi. Itna accha damad hain. Chalo ragini. Pehla picture mere saath

They had their individual photoshoots.

When Ragini came down for the varmala Nachiket was just gawking at her. She wasn't looking at him. Finally she did and was amazed at how handsome her groom looked. Nachiket was wearing a similar sherwani to what she had once liked for him when they went shopping.

R - you look very handsome. I can't believe your mine for life

N - wow. Bold statements again. I am happy your eyes are happy

M - kya baatein kar rahe ho. Puri zindagi baki hain. Panditji rasme shuru karein

After a 3 hour long ceremony they were man and wife. Nachiket was getting impatient to leave and Ragini was just having fun looking at him.

K - nachiket bro. Abhi lunch baki hain

RK - control kar bhai. Tu do ghante se pehle nahi nikal sakta

P - kaha jayega. Ragini ka grih pravesh hain

N - no Pam. I have everything planned. I told you. Humare ghar ki sabhi rasme when we return next Saturday

P - dekho kaise ronewala hain mera bhai

D - accha jao. You can leave after lunch

N - thanks guys. Woh maa...

K - haan pata hain. Humare saath rahegi. Tu tension tere first night ki kar
