Rk - i don't hate anything. But i dislike anything she cooks so either i cook or we eat out

P - agree. He cooks better and i prefer it that way

Next question was from Nachiket to Pam

P - truth

N - any regrets in life?

P - having to live away from India. I miss my family and friends

Rk - tum wapis yahan settle hona chahti ho?

P - haan. Kyun nahi

Rk - phir chalo. I wont extend my contract. Back to india after 6 months

Everyone cheered and Pam hugged RK

Next question was Karan to Nachiket

N - dare

K - you sure?

N - yes

K - kiss ragini on the lips now or your Audi is mine for a month

N - take the Audi

K - woohoo

Nachiket smiled at ragini. Ragini just got up and went over to nachiket. She gave him a quick peck on his lips. Everyone was shocked but then clapped. Nachiket actually blushed.

R - car stays with Nachiket

Next pam to ragini

R - truth

P - when did you realise you first fell in love with neil

Ragini hesitated. Nachiket looked at her in anticipation.

P - tume Neil ko kiss kiya. Iske comparison mein yeh truth chota challenge hain

R - valentines day in the second year of junior college.

P - what? Itne saal pehle? Kya hua tha?

R - i answered your question Pam. I don't wish to give details. I am sleepy. Waise bhi subah jaldi nikalna hain. I am going to bed. Good night all!

Ragini walked away. Nachiket knew something was bothering her. Everyone went to their rooms. Around midnight nachiket went to raginis room and knocked.

OMG!!!!

I just discovered this!!! So late for me but I am so happy because I could read all these parts at one go - this is lovely - the dialogues are so snappy, so witty - so endearing.. and Nachiket and Ragini are just like we love them - so earnest and sincere in their love for each other and so keen to make up for the lost years.

Wonderfully written, Mangalorian!

Thank you so much for this treat - cannot wait to read next :D

Chapter 27

R - who is it?

N - me

R - i am already in bed. Can we talk tomorrow please?

N - we can. But now seems better

R - please go

Nachiket knew she was crying

N - i wont. Open the door or i will break it.

R - you won't

N - yes. I would. Now please open the door.

Ragini opened the door. She had red puffy eyes and she was looking every where but at him

N - what is the matter

R - nothing

N - your crying for nothing

Nachiket shut the door and locked it.

R - you should go now

N - not before we talk. I know how to get you to talk. Come here

Nachiket sat on the bed resting his back on the headboard and he made ragini sit besides him

N - spill the beans

R - i just thought about that day. You had just gotten friendly with that new girl shanaya. But on valentines day when maa had a fracture you left her party to help me with maa.

N - i remember that

R - that day i fell in love with you because of how you cared for maa. I felt like telling you but then you kept dating different kinds of girls

N - that i did

R - i thought i would tell you after you finished your MBBS but then...

N - then what

Nachiket was hugging her now

R - you know of the cramps i get during my period each month. When i went to the doctor he said i couldnt...

Ragini began to sob

N - that i know now. So then

R - then i just didn't feel like confessing my love. I also had this past about my dad

N - so now you are fine right? We have come beyond all that. We are going to marry

R - yes but it still hurts. Every time i think about those years and seeing you with other girls

N - i wish there is something i could do about the past but there is nothing. All i can promise is that our present and future is together. You trust me right?

Ragini nodded in agreement.

N - lets sleep now. We are leaving at 7am

Saying so Nachiket began removing his shoes and got under the covers

R - why are you sleeping here?

N - yesterday you didn't seem to mind.

R - i was drunk

N - i am sleeping here anyways

Nachiket closed his eyes. Ragini smiled and slept on the other end of the bed. After some time she felt Nachiket cuddle her from the back. He kissed her on her neck.

N - i love you. Goodnight!

Ragini smiled and turned around to hug him. They were asleep in no time.

Chapter 28

They reached Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon. It was back to wedding preparations. Nachiket had to go to work just to check on an emergency case. He was in a hurry to get back home for the festivities

Pam got a phone call

P - hi nivedita. How are you?

Ni - i am fine. Is it true Neil is marrying Ragini?

P - yes. He says he loves her

Ni - are you sure?

Their conversation continued. Rk entered the room.

Rk - phone per kaun tha. You look sad

Pam told him about how sad she is Neil didn't marry nivedita.

After an hour Pam received a call that there was an emergency with Neil. Pam, karan, dimpy and Rk reached. Pam called nivedita so she arrived immediately

Rk said that Nachiket was in surgery as he had a car accident. He also said that his right arm has been damaged. Which may mean he can't perform surgeries for life

P - will he be alright?

Dr. - yes. But we can't do much about his right arm. Sadly his career as a surgeon is over

Just then nivedita came. Pam told her everything

Ni - thats so sad. Are you sure his right arm will never be usable

P - thats what the doctor said

Ni - serves him right.

P - what do you mean?

Ni - he ditched me to marry that bhenji. Let her live with a cripple for life.

P - how dare you? You told me this afternoon you loved him

Just then Ragini arrived. Someone from the hospital called her

R - pam how is he? Is he out of danger?

Ni - welcome ragini. Have a good life marrying a cripple surgeon who can now kiss his career goodbye
