Arnav dad was using his son hard earned money to maintain or revive his royalty by continuing to do charity in his village. Rather than the folks becoming independent they were in perpetual welfare! I will not be surprise if Arnav one day had a showdown about this. It was required to remove one kids glove…and say things the way it is.

Arnav and Khushi. They wanted different things. He finally pursued outdoor hobbies he enjoyed. He started living a life more independently.

Khushi no matter how much he showered love on her had insecurities of not fitting (or liking) with his lifestyle. Khushi finally realized that Arnav was more important than anything else and was willing to do everything like he desired but by then he had moved on.

He found companionship with Lavanya. They bonded maybe the two have shared interests.

I will not be surprised if he also found commonality with his La …maybe her income maintains her parents/ family lavish lifestyle. Just like him.

The vanilla fragrance that was appealing as a young man has lost its appeal. So he not been able to stand Khushi presence matches as his companionship with lavanya grew. (Answers my disgust..toxic environment as Khushi mused)

It is often said that many times one has an affair to find an excuse to end a unhappy union.

So he had an affair or he is genuinely attracted to La. But he is a honest man and knows that was wrong as he is married..so he filed for divorce.

For once I do agree with him..he deserves to live his life. A mantra which everyone seems to sing that Khushi will never will be able to move away for him. She loves him. As he is her universe. Payal said it , he himself has mused. Talk about an emotional blackmail and burdening a person. Is couple love not about two people loving each other?

Next chapter is about his relationship with his La. I feel by the end of it It will be that no one is fault. Lavanya genuinely loves him. Manali does always think about Lavanya, wish she would have been patient and not send the pictures to Khushi. Or maybe Manali did and Lavanya is innocent.

Yes this is Arnav's story . I am now satisfied with why he wanted a divorce. His intentions were not bad but there were some unforseen events.
I am not curious to know more about how’s and why’s about his affair/relationship with La. Unless it is important for the two being a end game.

Ps. I have chosen not to write anything about Khushi heartbreak. Not sure what new I can write from my previous comments.

Read the chapter Arpita, it's a calm before the storm chapter. I am just going to take some time to digest this and then will comment

Have to disagree wholeheartedly with you on Arnav’s honesty, Bakwas. I am not against divorce per se. You are right. We only have one life and we should try and be happy. But does this give you the right to find this at the expense of ones that love you? To tear down and destroy another’s life? And Khushi didn’t blackmail him to stay with her. She was leaving him forever and cutting contact with him. Arnav being what I think is an egotistical man who thinks he is righteous so he will divorce Khushi for her own good is trying to lesson his guilt at what he knows is dishonest, despicable and wrong on all levels. And the dishonesty continues of his treatment of her around the affair and his divorce actions. No way is he being honest just because his ego tells him he is.

If he was to be honest, tell Khushi he wants out; doesn’t love her anymore. Get the divorce and then go to Lavenya. He didn’t do that. He was a coward and treated her horribly. His dad mentioned something about him running from his problems. And if he is such an honest man that needs to get away from a traditional village girl to find solace from a modern cosmopolitan woman like Lavenya why is he trying to rekindle his marriage to Khushi? And Khushi owes him nothing for his “saving her from her village “. She didn’t ask him to and here again had no say in returning to Mumbai. Why in the world would she need to go against her one act of defiance and accept his alimony? He is guilty. It is not her job to be the ever accommodating taken for granted Khushi.

How honest, I wonder, has he been with Lavenya? He has engaged in an affair with her knowing she loves him and is hoping for more. True, she is willing and knows the score but as in the original IPKKND he is still being unfair playing on her emotions and that Lavenya was graceful about the breakup. This Lavenya doesn’t seem to be. However, what goes round, comes round, Lavenya. You deserve every bad thing you are getting and more for going after and sleeping with a married man.

I’ve found some of your insights agreeable with mine but can’t agree with your arguments on this one. It’s so interesting how Arpita’s story has sparked such a spirited debate. Let’s see what other people have to say too. It’s going to be so hard to wait for the really big reveal next week. Cheers!

I completely understand what you are saying, in fact it was magnanimous of him to bring Khushi out of Umanagar, he hated that place. I also feel Khushi should take the alimony so that it can assuage some of Arnav’s guilt.

You can’t force someone to love you and I believe khushi understands this.

P.s Wouldn’t it be wonderful as Arnav wanted, he and khushi become best friends after their divorce or rather Lavanya and khushi become best friends. And then Arnav dances at khushi wedding, is genuinely worried for her when she is in labour and having her husbands child(like he was for Payal). They are friends now after all.

You took my words on honesty literally. From my very first comment to this story..to me his behavior is cruel and disgusting. For that I will have to cut and paste all my comments.

This chapter just confirms that. To me his behavior towards Khushi is very similar to his village men he abhors. It is controlling and unequal.

The man loves himself so much that he had the gall to tell his broken wife that he would have never filed for divorce if he had realized she would break like this !

He filed for himself and took decision for both. The man is spineless.

Plus I am tired of reading how Lavanya for one is genuinely interested oops in love with him.

HE IS A MARRIED MAN. He is not hers to love. If he used her, I really don't have any sympathy for her.

Hope that clarifies

Handsown you are best in creating a emotional atmosphere..loved the way you have written every single scene with such packed emotions. I litterly can fell khushi's emotions..started hating arnav a little bit. Little bit because i am not sure whats his excuse for his sins but surely its unforgivable. Both khushi and arnav has drifted away but khushi not for once thought of running away from him. He was always the center of her universe. But will have to wait for whats the reasons he has issues about work, family & khushi from his pov. Maybe he was not surrounded by the family but outer world that may be one of the reason. But right now i cant help but feel hate towards him. Thanjs for the wonderful update.

Do you have any schedule for updates if not i dont mind stalking 😁

Not even in fiction... I would not want la and Khushi to become best friends. Khushi is human..not superwoman right😊

Of course I know that, It was just sarcasm on what was Arnav thinking when he expected them to be friends after his divorce that too when he had already cheated. 🤔

Oh, Bakwas, I am so glad to read that. We have been so like minded on so many things, I was wondering. I guess I am just not getting the sarcasm in your and Tashi’s posts. But God, she and Lavenya friends. She should be thankful he took her to Mumbai with out asking her? She should relieve him of his guilt by being paid off with his alimony? Too much sarcasm for my emotional brain right now.

The man equates everything with money. She was juvenile because when the almighty wanted to talk to her she locked herself up.

I should sleep 😊
