Ok. I am lost for words. This is going to be word vomit in all probability but what the hell, right! This post is the most comprehensive, unbiased, reasonable take on IPK-Ek Jashn that I have come across.
Firstly, those pictures. Damn. I can see the story flash in my head when I look at them. And, it is finally really settling in that that story is drawing to a close. This is bittersweet. I am glad that it is ending because with that, there will no more meddling with the classic. But it is ending. Even though, perhaps, I'll always feel that in a Sapnon ki Duniya somewhere, Arnav & Khushi are still living it up, in their own way-bickering, loving, laughing & then some. What a show this has been. I think, a lot of people would agree that the show, as a story wasn't that different but there was some inexplicable magic that transcended all borders of age, geographical barriers, educational backgrounds, language. Something clicks. And, it just connects. IPK wasn't a show. It really is an experience. Sigh!
And, your post. Perfect. This is word bliss. I swear. If I didn't have truckloads to do, I'd be reading this again & then, again. You summed it all up. The writing, the direction, the acting, the issues with sequels. Everything. Everything. And, THANK YOU for pointing out that Utkarsha Naik struggled because I thought I was the only one who noticed her difficulty. I love her. She is terrific, but they all had the burden of 3yrs gap. Even the writers. Damn. I have been going on & on about bad writing but you might have actually made me get over it. It happens.
And, that last bit about the show, I hadn't thought it possible, but I had Goosebumps reading it because this show is so dear to me, not for any other reason but the simple fact that it was wholesome entertainment in the most positive manner for the most part, untouched by the usual tv drama negativity. Brilliant show & brilliant tribute.
I will look forward to your take on the last episode. I have a feeling, I'll cry reading it because your post moved me, it did. It reminded me of why I am here for a show which ended 3yrs ago. It isn't a bad hangover. There was something there, that inexplicable thing that holds me captive even today.
So, yes. I have fingers & toes crossed for a new show with the cast because they are brilliant & be it on screen or off screen, oh the feels...
But that is for later. Come Tuesday, it is a final goodbye to IPKKND. A show that did redefine Indian tv & the power of a vocal fandom in its own way.
IPK probably will always remain in some small way a part of most fans' lives, I think. Because Hamesha was a self fulfilling prophecy in some ways. The universe heard & whispered a yes, when the word was uttered in IPK, maybe.
Wonderful post. It has been days since anything inspired me to write so much. Brilliant!

Beautifully put aquiline.. its hard to copy perfection, specially if you can't feel what was originally felt by the creators and are only trying to mimc with a vague idea of what is expected of the show..
Thanks for the pictures.. was a trip down a warm glowing happy place in my heart.. and a special thank you for the pic where Barun is concentrating while Lalit Mohan explains something..

lovely post ⭐️ while i dont necessarily agree with everything u said i loved the way u beautifully showcased how amazing the original ipk was, is and will always be. u reminded me of all those amazing posts that this show used to inspire and that i would spend hours poring over trying to understand and analyse, hours that i'm never getting back 😆 but those days and this forum were so much fun, almost as enjoyable as watching the show was, and i'm sure many of those posts i lost myself in were urs so a heartfelt thank u 😃

i admit my expectations were so low for this jashan that i'm just happy with whatever we got. with barely two days of filming i was prepared for an extended promo and this is definitely more than a footnote of where r they now. nothing can match the magic of arhi for me but i'm happy they tried, whether for fans, business or clicks, and some if not all loops will get a closure. so i feel quite benevolent towards the jashan, not at all bitter, and i know i will even cherish some moments. even though it wasn't quite ipk for me it was still a believable version of Arnav and Khushi, and they got their blissfully sweet happy ever after so i get my joyful peace 😳
