Seems like i'm not the only one who is having dubts on third judge's makes 😳

@Rasgulla: seems like the grammar is not objective looks at the marks 🤓

I think the biggest mistake that was made by the organizer was to say the names of the judges the day the contest was announced.
I think the right thing to do was not to say who were the judges, so no one would have known, and no one would have had doubts.
And the organizer should have told to the judges to not disclose to anyone that they were judging the contest, so that everything would be gone smoothly, or atlest i wish.

Ok... guys i am nothing compared to many of the writers and what i am going to say here has nothing to do with the organizers and judges. this effort of mine is only to give tips how to manage a contest. I am not saying i am very good at it, and i have organised many contest before but i hope this helps for those who intend to organize in future...
First of all the voting...

As there was uneven number of stories in each genre... the voting should have been done

2 votes for Romance, 2 votes for Tradegy and 1 vote for Comedy. (this ratio should have worked much better and everyone should have got more effeciant voting. The very fact it readers do have their prefferences of reading and choosing their fav genre. like i am a strict no no for Tragedy while i love romance and ok with comnedy.. so my votes will obviously go to romance and comedy so it will be unfair for those who wrote tragedy. So if the voting was done as per the ratio i think the results whould have differed a lot.

secondly when it was clearly mentioned that it will be judges choice and likes and votes will be a plus point.

Here i would like to say the marks should have been given like 80% judges choice and 20% votes or 70-30 because if you are asking others to vote then they should be given proper consideration. They are reading 26 stories and then voting so i think it would have been fair that ways.

I liked the fact that the award was divided into two categories Jury and Popular.. and i think it was the best idea.

Special mentioned should have been to them as per readers not as per judges and judges were free to choice the best story already then special mention dilutes the whole winning thing if it comes from the judges. It should have depended upon the comments and readers vote only.

I cannot say about the marks as i am novice as far as marking system is concerned and totally respect what judges has given. that was their job to mark and they were chosen to... and i will never doubt that. They did their work and there will always be disagreement.

PS : and there was linking problem as well... there were three thread and the stories were linked only with the first post which i felt is a little inappropriate. Each story should have linked properly so that when someone clicks his/her story opens not the first page where some other story is posted. It is pretty confusing. I almost pmed the TM that my story opens to another link but later realised that it was the same case will all...

@ preet I dont think that would have been the right way of doing it...the writers definately qualifies to know who judged them and in what basis so that they perform better next time by learning their mistakes. One should give the judges benefit of the doubt because they are judging and writers those who took part knew it from the beginning that they will be judged through certain criteria...
what needs to be mended is the contest system so that next time it is much more convincing.

Appy i'm ready to give the benefit of the doubt to the judges, I didn't even thought about their being an fair till the TM didn't wanted to post the restults as i said her to post them, from that all started and i looked at the sheet that she had sent to me, and sorry to say it but seen the readers votes i let go off to a what the f***
because the entry 20 was let apart, even if it gets 20 votes 2 less then the popular one.

coming back to the point, about the judges, the one things that i don't get is only on the grammar that's all, how can to a story written so well you can give 5 when the other 2 judges are giving 9 or 8 😕 isn't it coufusing...

And yeah after reading Lazy's comment i can say she has given the marks accordingly to the story because not just me but others too had the same view about their stories... for eg. i already knew what was my mistake, there was no need to Lazy to say it, i already know that, and i was actually laughing when i read it, because it was true.
The only thing that i'm not able to get is the discrepancy in the judges votes on the grammar wala part, that's it.

@ Bold black: When i read that there were 26 entries and we can vote just for 3, i thought i would be better if we devided them in two partes, i mean post 13 stories and start the voting when this will end, post the other 13 and start the voting and at the end take the fist 3 stories from each round and start the final voting. But i didn't thought about what you said, yeah maybe in the way you said would have been better, but then i think about the readers, it's not easy to read 26 stories in one go, maybe give them more time would have been batter i don't know it's just a thought.

@ Bold red: true. Accordingly to my POV the readers votes should have converted into points, if the awards were going to be assigned adding both the votes, so in this way the stories that got more votes from the readers and less points from the judges would had a fair chance to win or get something. If the judges can give a maximum of 50 points to story, then one vote of a reader to a particular story should have provided to that story other 16,5 points (50/3)

I hope you got what i'm trying to say

@ Bold blue: true.

@ Bold green: i too didn't liked it that much, it was a little irritating.

Since it is no use crying over spilled milk
let's end it here.
Because i know nothing is gonna change what happened, happened.

And putting myself in to the shoes of the author of the entry number 20, i don't think she/he would like to receive something that we had "fought" to make the organized to give it to her/him, even if she deserved it from the beginning, but it was not given to her and ened up in someone else's hands. Just because they forgot how to assign the awards.

So since i coudn't helped her, not her but the story, yesterday i had made something for it, i read it for two times, and i swear i loved it from the bottom of my heart, i was like kash i had written something like this, kash i was able to put the emotions in the way she had written. I was able to imagine each scene of the story, i can see Arnav staring at Khushi when he saw her after years.
And the date, was simply perfect, i loved the end, after it finished i was like what the 😲 it already ended 😭

So all this bllabbering was to say what if you dind't won anything, your story for me was the best one that's all

Here is a little gift for your story from my side 😳

P.S. I rarely read stories with less dialogues but your shot crakked me up from the beginning till the end, hats off to you girl.

Hi there :) This is the author of 'Paani ke sapne' and I see queries made on the 'banner' I had posted. Yes, I had put in a banner along with my OS entry and it had bubbles made on it. Within a span of one day,I had myself asked the oragniser to remove it because I had accidently put in a small copyright with my name on it. My intention was not to be unfair and I would readily agree to give up my prize if readers think that I had cheated in any way or that someone else deserves this prize! :) I am sorry for hurting anyone's sentiments. -Risha

@ Amethyst - I had inquired about the banner earlier yesterday. I was curious that it was mentioned in the comment yet wasn't available to the readers. Your post explained a lot though.
My intention was not at all to imply that you should give up your prize. I am sure that all three judges voted ethically in the categories involved for each OS.
Congratulations on your win and your the bubbles concept was nice in your OS 😊

@Preet k.c Wont u think it would be unfair if manjari havnt unannounced d name den also anyone of d reader or d participant would have said may be she has only judged d cmptiton as dere were no mntn who d judges are or anythng .. Mntning of judges isnt a wrng decision of her wich i feels so till nw .. No offence wid ur cmnt i just said wat i felt accurate as a reader ..
