Episode 189
Amidst the heartbreak and ensuing chaos that was unknown to almost everyone, there was a celebration taking place, dreams finally being fulfilled, a happy occasion bringing cheer and joy to everyone around. The marriage of Payal and Akash. Even ASR couldn't help smiling looking at his delighted young brother, perhaps the only time he smiled that night while his heart battled a storm. Khushi who was dazed with the sudden turn of events didn't notice that smile, else she would have known that ASR didn't really mean to carry out his threats.
Here's a happy one amongst this series of painful poems.
Payal Akash Marriage
A demure bride bedecked in wedding attire
A bashful groom anxious to fulfil his desire
A verbal confession of love on lover's day
This special day chosen to be their marriage day
The wedding rituals begin with cheers and gaiety
Teasing the shy couple with talks quite naughty
Surrounded by loved ones and well wishers
While some eyes well up with happy tears
A long cherished dream is now being realised
Buaji, Amma, Babuji bless their cherished pride
Overwhelming are these moments for the bride's family
Payaliya, the loving daughter is married finally
A brother is happy, while a sister is lost
The families rejoice except Mami who's crossed
Akash carries his Payal whose cheeks turn red hot
And promise to help each other by removing life's knots

ah a happy wedding pem, last two lines coola nd lovely.

thanks, durga.

up there a thought in pink about asr. i love the man which is precisely why i feel he would definitely have broken that marriage had khushi refused. asr was asr... no empty threats. strategic yes, but would act on the threat, if pushed to... i am awful, this is what excited me about him... the slightly shattered edge which had its own junoon. if he could justify an act, he would do it... my humble opinion, khushi read her man right. but yes after that every time he said it, it was just a strategy, he knew she would succumb.

that night was like no other night in his life... it's horror level almost as high as the night of sheeshmahal.

Episode 191
Anokhi Shaadi
Ek dooje ke hain ye dono,
Pehle se jatlaayi thi
Paani se jab vrat toda tha,
Sar par jab chunari giraayi thi
Shubh Mahurat, thi shubh ghadi
Jab Ma ke mandir mein huyi thi sagaai
Sangeet, shagun, mehendi, haldi
Saari rasmein thi nibhaayi
Ab aa chuki wo ghadi
Jab judegi inki kadi
Lekar jazbaaton ki baraat
Ek anokhi shaadi ki raat
Hawa ne shankh bajaayi
Ghantiyon ne taal milaayi
Mata aur Agni ke samaksh mein
Avaanchit byaah rachayi
Na rasmon ka koi gawah tha
Na gawah hai koi iss vivaah ka
Par sakshi hain mata pita
Jo hissa hain taaron ke pravah ka
Chand mahinon ka nahin bandhan
Hamesha ke liye hai ye sangam
Sampoorna hai, nahin ye aadhi
Arnav Khushi ki anokhi shaadi
Translation:
They belong to one another
It was hinted before
When the fast was broken with water
When the dupatta was dropped on the head
An auspicious time, it was an auspicious moment
When the engagement took place in Ma's temple
Sangeet, shagun, mehendi, haldi
All rituals were followed
Now has arrived that moment
When their link will be made
With a procession of emotions
A unique wedding night
The wind blew the conch
The bells matched the beat
In the presence of the Mother and Fire God
Carried out an unwanted marriage
There was no witness for the rituals
No witness for this marriage
But present are the parents
Who are part of the flow of stars
Not a bond for a few months
This union is for eternity
It is complete, not partly
The unique wedding of Arnav and Khushi

fell for the name.

anokhi shadi. that is what it was.

Hawa ne shankh bajaayi
Ghantiyon ne taal milaayi
Mata aur Agni ke samaksh mein
Avaanchit byaah rachayi

lovely.

and in my eyes, this indeed was their marriage. no nothing more needed. if i were writer, khushi would have told him some day, this was alright despite all that seemed wrong with it. this was beautiful because it was their marriage... whatever it was, it was all about that one thing that gives their relationship its validity. love. beyond all rites and ritual and expectations and shoulds and shouldn'ts there is that one thing, and it's what counts. he loved her which is what made him marry her... had she said it, he might have really been able to forgive himself...

I wouldn't disagree about what you say about ASR. It was a horrific night for him. He would have gone to any extent to have his way. But the point is, he was out to set things right, ready to give the proven culprit Shyam another chance for the sake of his sister's happiness. For that purpose, would he break his brother's heart? His Di was dear to him, but he didn't love his brother any less. If Khushi had refused, he would have found another means to make her agree. Maybe create a situation where she would think that the marriage was called off, where in reality it wasn't. Or simplest way, refuse to go to the mandap till she agreed. Akash had anyway put the marriage in halt mode.
Glad you loved the last two lines. Those were some cute moments. 😊

Thanks Indi. 😊 I didn't want to name it forced or hate. This was a special one, unique, hence Anokhi shaadi. Happy you liked it. 😊
About Khushi agreeing, I think she did, as the remarriage was taking place she realised that their marriage was indeed complete. And she did add Singh Raizada to her name in the aane do scene, that said it all. (Don't fall yet recalling the scene 😉) She was just enjoying the dream wedding that Arnav wanted to give to her. And just in case Arnav hadn't turned up at the marriage hall, I don't think Khushi would have considered herself half married. She would be devastated but very much believed she was Mrs. KKGSR.
And now you are free to fall. 😉

This was a tremendously moving poem Durgey! It did true justice to the momentous occasion! You captured it do well! 👏And such beautiful verses! i could not decide which line I liked better than the other! ⭐️ You are churning out superb edits these days! Lovely colour and each picture was well thought of!
I am glad you called it the anokhi shaadi and not hate marriage because when Arnav and Khushi got married they were very much in love. Arnav took her as his own not only to protect Di from Shyam but also because he could not have her belong to Shyam in any way. Above all it was so ordained by Devi maiya. Every pre mariage rasm or ritual was performed by them. Mere mortals were not witnes to their mariage, blessings were showered from above. I have wondered sometimes if the pheras were deliberately left out in this marriage, to lay the ground for remarriage. I am surprised ASR knew the sindoor and mangalsutra part of marriage but not the pheras! I guess he stuck to the bare minimum! Lol!

Thanks Wiwy. I am delighted you loved all the lines and edits too. 😳 😃
About the pheras, I've always felt that the shooting of the pheras had taken place. The marriage scenes were cleverly shown bit by bit during the family's interrogation, otherwise if we edit out the family scenes and just put together the wedding scenes, it will come to very short duration. Arnav and Khushi's marriage is too important to shoot such a short scene. Moreover, if the pheras were not to take place, why was the havan kund lit? Also, when A & K reach home, Khushi is in ghunghat and they are wearing garlands. Why were these scenes not shown? What I feel must have happened is, after the sindoor rasam, when Khushi turns, hides her face and cries, her pallu flies towards Arnav and he catches it (the temple scene stops here). Then, Arnav must have put that pallu over her head, took the garlands lying near Devi Maiyya, made Khushi exchange them and took the pheras.
Later, since they needed a reason for a conflict at the end of the six month period, they decided to edit the pheras completely. I may be wrong, but this is what I feel must have happened. And you are right, ASR just witnessed his brother getting married, so he would know about the pheras along with sindoor and mangalsutra.

Indi, interesting you thought he would have truly broke Akash's marriage had Khushi didn't budge.. I thought similarly to Durga.. he would have found something else to tie her to him but not annul his brother's wedding.. that would have been the office track asr... phenk do asr.. pre Guest house asr...only and only dimaag dictated asr...now he may still be that no nonsense seal the deal at any cost business man but post Payash, his heart certainly started coming in between his head and his decisions.. in fact if he is that initial asr, he wouldn't even have married her...but asked her to Live in.. an ultimate insult to Khushi as he knew.. (I actually lost a bet in this regard as I thought he would ask her for a Live in:))

Interesting conversations going on above. Can't decide what ASR would have done among all three options - stop marriage, some other trick and live-in. In a way this unpredictability makes him more exciting. One thing is for certain, writers could have got great ideas from you all!

Wonderful Durga.
Really what an anokhi shadi, nobody ever witnessed before.
I loved how you connected all their previous significant encounters what led them to the holy matrimony.
this stanza is my most favorite

Na rasmon ka koi gawah tha
Na gawah hai koi iss vivaah ka
Par sakshi hain mata pita
Jo hissa hain taaron ke pravah ka

Thanks Sohara. All those rasams that they followed unknowingly had to come to this. So, anokhi it was. Happy you loved those lines. 😃
