My feeling is that he never try to reciprocate LA. whenever he reciprocated LA before his breaking point is not because he felt unfair to LA, (let me review the scenes during the weekend.. that is what I was feeling watching it.. but let me see if I can give more specific examples.. the expressions were so fleeting, that you have to be watching to catch it.. since he didn't have too much dialog.. it was a gesture, a glance.. mostly body language) he did that to make Kushi happy or can not bear to see her tears... And to mostly to put her in "her place".. hurting her, but hurting himself 10 times in the process.... Sometimes he even tried to reciprocate his feelings towards Kushi by showing those on LA... Yes the hug scene with sorry after the sagai ka dress debacle... it was 2 birds with 1 stone.. he is hugging La but saying it to Khushi.. of course... it is heartfelt to both.. I loved how they showed him being torn apart in that scene...

He tried to show Kushi he cared LA to hurt once he knew she has feeling for him and after her engagement. His announcement for his engagement has different purpose, to escape from her questions about the kiss and mostly run from her.
Not only sorry hug, one shot two birds thing hehehe. After Kushi hug when her dad was in hospital he reciprocated and that hug to LA and console her for which she thought he was talking about their situation like Nani's rejection etc...

Mayb there relationship's only foundation was based on convenience. ASR definitely knew the implications of bringing her over to his house but all those had one purpose: to put nani in her place n rile her up. Once again trying to say he makes his own destiny. Yeah he was affected by Khushi but even otherwise we didn't really get any intimate reaction from his side. For this I wanna thank the Cv's.

Yup when he hurt LA he never felt any sorry. That I felt it was not his complete fault. He was clear with her about their non commitment relationship. We know the reason why he brought LA his home so he may not care her leaving his home. But he did not even care when he came to know LA leaving his office and country too. That clearly shows that he only care her as long as she listens to him, may be as his return favour for what she is doing for him . whether he bring LA home or not, the equation about their intimacy has changed once Kushi entered his life, especially after red saree photo shoot. But after I saw his reaction for his own physical feelings for Kushi, i think LA might not have get that much intimate reaction from him even before Kushi enter his life.

. Besides, Arnav also wanted her to be in RM so that he can escape marriage proposals that his grandma had started to entertain. But when Khushi happened to him...he was not able to control the emotions he was feeling for khushi...not physical but feeling helplessness whenever he saw tears in khushi's eyes. La left RM when Arnav blatantly denied getting married to La (after La waiting in bride's attire as per Khushi's plan scene in Arnav's room). Arnav was least bothered and in fact was fine with La leaving his house and country for good because he never wanted a girl who would ask for a committed relationship and marriage...but it was Khushi who forced Arnav to bring La back and it is her who made him realize that La was really hurt and he is responsible for that. So he goes to take La back home. He even reciprocates La's hug so I think it is the physical comfort that he shared with La that he could hug her back (which was not there with khushi during hospital scene because he was attached to khushi emotionally more than physically) . He went to La's place not only because he felt guilty for La but also because he did not like the idea that he hurt Khushi's feeling. When La and Arnav hugged Arnav kept looking at Khushi as if telling her that "...is it ok now? I accepted I hurt Lavanaya and look I am here to take her back with me". But when he again saw tears in khushi's eyes...Arnav's expression said something like ..."now what happened? see i am here to take Lavanya. now why are you crying dammit?" (hehehe sorry I put my own dialogue for Arnav 😆 ).

So, I guess, there was physical comfort between Arnav and Lavanya from the beginning but we were not shown that aspect in the show explicitly (scenes between and La and Arnav were not much) and when La was brought to RM where Arnav and La were together, equation between them had already started changing...of course from Arnav's side since Khushi had entered in Arnav's life - unknowingly.

Of course is not obvious that for the people who share that much intimacy have at least kind privileges on each other?

Yes he was not bothered about LA leaving his home or country. But I thought the reason to bring back her was first to make Kushi happy and next the note Kushi wrote about LA' suicide, not because he realised he was unfair to LA or feeling guilty for her. Most importantly if he realised that he was unfair to her ,he will not use her more after he brought her back. Actually He was not unfair to her until the engagement announcement. He was clear in his terms and LA was ok with it. He never ask her to change, in fact he insisted her not to change. When he said the only person who is important in his life is his Di, LaA asks him only one person, which he said yes, only one person. So he clearly told her she was not important person in his life. Even LA was not that heart broken that time. Just because Kushi changed her perspective about marriage made her ask ASR to marry her, but may be she was not in love him that time, which was changed later.

He said those words to La and once he even gifted her a handbag, I think that's because he didn't want her to question him about their relationship. And maybe he didn't want her to cling to him like other girlfriends so he kept her happy. To avoid all those girly fits and tantrums, I guess 😆

And he said that he'll leave the house because he wanted to avoid the topic of marriage so...emotional blackmail is the best way to convince Anjali & he use it perfectly :P Also, I think he was actually okay with his relationship with La. No demands, no commitments, and that was the only thing he wanted from a girl.

They were not college mates. She was working him. We don't know from how long. But they showed us in LA introduction scene that their relationship was started 5 months ago. So even if they have physical relation from the day one of their relation, it was lasted only 5 months. We clearly knew after that ASR distanced himself once Kushi entered his life and did not share any intimate moments with her other than some casual hugs.

Quite interesting topic, even CV's might not have thought this much about ASR & La relationship. During the show it was never shown explicitly that Arnav & La shared a physical relationship, but from the talks abt live in relationship it is a possibility. If they wanted they could have shown it w/o making it vulgar(like going to bed with La at night in her place and a morning wake up scene).
In one of the scene Arnav return late home after rescuing Khushi and Nani questions him thinking he went to La's place, then he tells if he wants to go to la he will not do it secretly .

During Shital track Khushi says that she knows such kind of things happen on college days, Arnav denies having such a relationship with Shital and says he was not that kind of guy.

So overall it is vague/contradicting the relationship Arnav has shared with his girlfriends. I think CVs didn't want to clearly show it so that they can tweak the story line as required in future.

If Arnav was so modern in his thought he should not be angry towards Khushi. Because Shyam is interested in Khushi and he expresses his wish to her and says he doesn't love Anjali. Khushi is not in a relationship with anyone. So what is wrong if she asks Syam to leave his wife first before pursuing her, that is the right thing to do if we think in a modern way. But as we all know there is less logic in stories, Arnav is modern & had lot GFs, but he wants his BIL to be traditional and love one woman throughout his life :).

I had the same thoughts too. If he had a live in relationship with La why was he so upset that Shyam had an affair with Khushi. And why did he hate his dad for having an affair with another lady when ASR himself has numerous girlfriends and affairs.

I agree with you. At terrace scene Syam and Kushi were not making out or anything like that. She did not say she loves Syam either. Even if Kushi asks Syam to leave Anjali if he loves hef, there is nothing wrong in it. If he can brake up with LA saying he does not love her , Syam can divorce Anjali because of the same reason.

I think he was shocked hearing this from someone like Khushi plus he thought that Khushi had feelings for him (Arnav)! But hearing those words from Khushi made him think that Khushi loves Shyam and not him!! It's amazing that after the show being over we are still curious about this topic!! As did they or did they not topic?!! 😆😆

I guess it's the infidelity part which irked arnav about Shyam pursuing Khushi when Anjali is his wife. N plus I always felt the marriage was also a way to show Shyam that khushi solely belongs to him
