Well its not even 7 months I read stories in this site...so may b I am not in place to say a story is good or bad...but I cant just read a story to which I cant connect...that I cant visualize whats happening...and which I dont feel real...
I prefer to read those stories updated regularly...but if I love a story very much, then i hold onto it even not updated for a long time...otherwise I just left it...
I did some mistakia by starting some on-hold stories without noticing, which taught me not to start any story before knowing if its ongoing or discontinued...
I am one of those reader who go back to own comment to see if the writer responded or not...so if I see there's no response(like from the writer) automatically i dont feel like making long comment in next update...
I cant read a story, where Arnav is rude...hurting Khushi over and over again, without any regret...and Khushi suffering only...then forgiving him just like that...Its harmful for my peace of mind...
I skip those stories where Arnav is shown sleeping around with girls...I cant see him like this...

Lastly,I cant read a story written in small fonts...its my fault, with the power of my glasses and with the tiny font sized writings in my books I have to read daily, its just not possible for me to read small sized writings any more when I am supposed to relax...

I agree with you on storylines where Khushi is subjected to immense cruelty and forgives Arnav suddenly because she just can't stop loving him. I also cannot take it if Arnav beds anyone else after he finds Khushi. My worst experience was after all that cruelty, Arnav dies without having a chance to ask for forgiveness. Peace of mind is forever lost on those stories. I drop them real fast too.

I also don't appreciate authors threatening to not update if they don't get a certain amount of comments. Honestly, the comments come if the writing is worthwhile. I find it incredibly rude to the poor readers that do comment and vested that time in reading only to be blackmailed that way. I've seen this get out of line into almost bullying. Not cool.

This still happens? 😲

Format is also important. If there is no index and the title doesn't get updated, then bookmarking holds no value. The author and reader are solely dependent on the PM system. If you come to the story midway no way to know where the next update will be.

Ditto! I can't spend so much time in checking pages looking for the updates. But I think if the author is fairly new to the IF and FF world, someone should provide with a tutorial :)

In addition, if the author starts factoring in comments and loses the essence of the storyline and does not focus on the original premise, then the story loses its value for me. I would hope the story had some thought put into it beforehand rather than just going with the flow and losing its momentum midway. Its hard for the writer and the reader.

I pity the author here. Poor thing is hounded from all sides

Blogging. Readers are suddenly subjected to yet another forum to follow and continue what they were reading. Not cool. Readers vested interest, time and effort. Running around and bookmarking tens of stories is not fun and no longer worth the effort. Especially for unknown authors that may or may not finish the story. Worst yet is proving themselves worthy of being their readers. No doubt their work and their choice to share. But their is some blind faith both ways that needs to be appreciated. (not talking about mature content)

I understand this but sometimes the author cannot help it because of the plagiarism issue

Thank you so much for sharing your views :)

If the concept is handled well, I am sure the story would have been good :)

ON HOLD FFS...(I can and I do wait for 2/3 months but more than that just kill my interest)

The moment I read 'On Hold' I never open the tab :P

TOO LONG STORIES like over 50/60 chapters

I like long stories if they are engaging. I have come across a few which are. But then again I have left stories which were updates upon updates full of fillers!

p.s : also if it's fully written in hindi...few lines are ok..otherwise I can't read it properly

Yes, although I am well versed in Hindi, I would prefer an English translation :)

Thank you for adding to the post :)

i am a voracious reader and i dont know anyone on IF personally. i have added all the people to my buddy lists whose works i follow. i agree with u zehra on all points and need to add one more - if we the readers dont comment, the writers take offence but if they dont update or leave the story in the middle, we dont have a right to say anything. further, due to plagiarizing, a lot of authors have moved to blogs and are not giving us readers access despite of several requests. i have even requested a writer on IF to send me pms since i cant stalk the thread but to no avail. i love her work and follow it but i was hurt by her reply

Tu badi strong hai 😆

l. I have just stopped commenting on two authors for exactly the same reason!

You feel bad, don't you? I do, at least. It's equivalent to seeing through someone talking to you in the real world!

i. Ha ha...!

l.Yes I do feel bad. I don't like it at all. It just tells me that the author has chosen to ignore me, and your analogy is bang on!

i love reading arhi stories. There are a lot of talented authors but due to plagiarism issues they remove there updates. Well i understand thier feelings but for a reader at times it gets frustrating.

Ditto! I do that too! And I am not the kind of person who would write 'awesome' on a story. I tend to rant a lot and I would like to get some response from the writer!

But if we get a redemption track - a proper one not a pheeka midnight sorry - then that story actually turns out to be good :D

I didn't read a popular story just because of that. I am glad I didn't because that story has been discontinued 😃

Thank you for sharing your woes 😃

I can understand your sentiments. I too don't read authors for a non-writing reasons. Everyone is entitled to their opinions :)
