There are a few actors whose sheer presence sets the screen on fire. Amitji, Aamirji are a few. There is a certain star quality which appeals to the public. Whatever role these actors portray on the screen, the characters come alive. More than looks, it is the attitude and screen presence of the actors which makes them click.
BS is going up Amitji and Aamir way. I am sure if he puts enough effort and corrects himself in the areas that he is not confident, he will reach the heights.
No doubt I credit Gul Khan for sketching such a complicated character. She surely made a hit story with super hit characters, ASR being the most interesting one. And as BS himself said, script was good. It was written so well that the actor could understand it that well. Also the first one year of IPK, the script was good, directors were perfect (one mastreo for intense scenes and one for romantic scenes. what amazing team that was !!), camera man was perfect. Add these to the perfection the actors brought and you have a sure shot winner.
Hence, it is definitely a combination of script, direction, actors who brought ASR to fame. All gained thru the success. People who feel that BS didnt contribute to the success of ASR are so mistaken !! ASR is a role which needed an actor with an inborn charm, attitude which cannot be learnt. BS has the qualities required for ASR. His smirks, smiles, eyebrow lifts, infact all his facial expressions, his body language which just so much is ASR written all over it , his eyes which showcase his feelings - anger, love, lust, disgust, his dialogue delivery which varies depending on the scene .. like his husky tone when he enacts romantic scenes, his clenched teeth dialogue delivery when he is angry, his tone when he is challenging or cutting deals with khushi... just so much variation. All this cannot be put across by a script or made to act by a director. The actor hisself has to innovate and experiment., BS excelled in this.
Whatever happens now, I just hope BS gets good projects and we get to see him in more amazing scripts.
