@sathya... What a beatiful song !! Loved it... touches the heart..
I just wanted to tell Khushi.. that Damad's middle class or high class are the SAME...
As you said Khushi you have got a husband in million who ill do anything to see your smile.. I hope she understand the pain she is giving to her family in process to teach Arnav a lesson...
My Middle class husband acted much more bad than Arnav Did...
My mothers food was too oily for him.. the bed was not comfortable...
There were too many mosquitoes.. which he was not used too... ( He is from middleclass family...)
It took him years to change... he did but it did took long time...This is my own experiance. What is Khushi expecting.. I am unable to understand..
Now from US when I go to india... I can't take mosquitoes myself...Why blame others...

Thanks everyone for the posts. I am very grateful to this thread and all the contributors.

Tanthya, exquisite reading as always.

@Anna, I have to agree that I too was extremely disappointed by ASR today. Like you I found him almost repugnant today.

The CV's have always painted him as haughty, but there was always a heart. From yesterday his actions did not sit well with me. Why did he let Buaji pull the dining room table by herself? Why was his conversation with Babuji so short and curt? Why did he not try at all to ease the discomfort of the Gupta women as they realized that the made an error with the food. ASR appears intent to let the awkwardness remain between him and the Guptas.

Today ASR to me was unpalatable. As you said, he orders an AC, embarasses the Guptas, puts it only in his room and appears oblivious to the hurt faces of the women. He could have made more of a show of saying that it was for the family, etc.

What was also very telling today is that Arnav (in his present incarnation) cannot read the faces or signs of the people around him. He appeared nonplussed at the Gupta ladies pain and humiliation.

Interestingly the CV's really draw out the pain and humiliation here with camera angles forcing the viewer to be moved, but not ASR. Are we seeing his blindness and limits of perception? The same way he saw Shyam and KKG, but did not really see them? Does he not see the Gupta pain, or does he not want to?

Tomorrow it appears that because of his selfish desire the neighbors will lose their power. What is the message here? This is the same man who gave Khushi the silver coins and paid her father's hospital bills? Hard to believe his insensitivity.

Is it that this man's rash decisions that secure his comfort have devastating effects on those around him? Just like Khushi's OTT antics are sometimes callous, Arnav's desire to secure order and control his world similarly selfish. The hurt feelings he caused today are small in comparison to him installing the metaphoric AC of the 6 month marriage. Just like the marriage, the AC was brought into the home, plucked down and all were forced to accept its presence. it is said that when people do not learn they continue to make the same mistakes. When will ASR learn that he cannot mould the world to him?

ASR appears afraid in some ways of losing his identity with the Guptas. He seems bent on keeping the distance alive between him and them. He keeps this distance by insisting that his needs and desires are ones that cannot be fulfilled by their way of life. Towels, clean soap and laptops mark the edge of ASR's identity as he refuses to dissolve in Khushi's world. The Guptas and Khushi are the abject that he needs to reject to create the boundaries of self.

The abject has to do with "what disturbs identity, system, order. What does not respect borders, positions, rules" (Julia Kristeva, Powers of Horror)

Is it because he has already surrendered so much to his love for Khushi, that only by constantly negating and rejecting her physical world can he retain a sense of self? Fear is always the great motivator for ASR--fear of losing control, of going under and admitting a need for another.

I think we all know though no clean towel, no soap will save him from what has aleady has happened. Khushi has seeped into his very being. The abject and him are one.

Hi Sathya:

Awesome post and especially yesterday!👏👏 I was LOL while watching yesterday because for some reason I found the episode funny while the Forum found Khushi OTT again. I almost never laugh at her ridiculous behavior, assuming it is intended for the pre-teens watching.

Earlier I did not understand why on Arnav would move across town to spend a few sweaty days at Khushi's house! This is ASR we are talking about!! It seemed so out of character. It is not as if this is a real marriage and he has build relationships with her family. Why on earth would he agree to go, only after a mild attempt at saying no. Why would he try to please Khushi? I thought it was all a bit odd.

Until I read your post this morning- I thought, that's it! Arnav has to go to the GH because the truth resides at that house, so the CVs contrived to get him there. So he can get at the truth regarding Shyam and therefore work towards clearing the MU! It was this passage below that you wrote made it all clear to me:

"The 3 deviyaans stand there each holding bowls in their hand..All come and place it, uncovering ti simultaneously ..He is given food low on salt, masalas unflavored, inedible & Arnav accepts it, eats it quietly without creating much fuss !!
How I loved this sequence ..Each one of them have a secret to share, a secret connected to him, his family .. .. All three advance towards him and out their truth in its original form, without any garnish , without any Masala ...The truth is outed in its original form, unpalatable, repugnant nevertheless THE TRUTH !! Arnav does not demur much,"

And Doods also wrote that Arnav is there for a purpose: " This track will help him see the half-truth - "Shyam-Khushi Engagement".

Thanks Doods and Sathya!!!

I am really looking forward to the upcoming track . Please CVs, don't blow this one!

Today I loved all the 4 analysis.
Tants comparing the mooh dikhai of both Khushi and Arnav, u r so right in that sincere, heartfelt blessings r worth more than the expensive gifts.
And Khushi is jst becoming like Arnav from what the... to throwing things around, but she also laid it back in its proper place, I really liked it.
Loved ur simple and short post goldie
And Nia awesome as usual
All in all Arnav will learn his lesson, Better late than Never guys.

I found this episode to be way better than yesterday's. I prefer when the CVs don't mess with the characters too much and keep them in a way viewers can recognize them.
I liked Bua and Garima being nervous in approaching Arnav, it was good that they wanted to talk to him first instead of just listening to Khushi. While Arnav once again misunderstood, at least he handled things well. While Arnav still has his flaws, he has really come a long way from who he used to be. Arnav could have easily lost his temper and walked out from there but he didn't.
I loved the looks on Arnav and Khushi's faces as the lady blessed them to be together for eternity. The act was dropped, real emotions emerged with both knowing that they went into this marriage with the purpose of ending it in six months despite the fact it is very evident they wish it could last eternity. Very good scene!!
I felt bad for Bua and Garima when Arnav ordered the A/C and brought his own toilertries, it wasn't his intention to hurt them but that is exactly what happened. It is just who Arnav is, he isn't one who tells people what he is doing or thinks of the consequences, its act now and realize later.
I agree with you Sathya, we got another indication that in the end it will be Khushi who picks up the pieces and fixes them together.

I liked the epi today...Yeah my Kabhi Mad Kabhi Khushi with the show continues😆

Yes, Arnav could have been more tactful and informed the Guptas about his home deliveries, but then that would not be Arnav right, That would be Akash 😳

In real life, this is what would have happened:😕

Explaining with Mami's example, She would have called the Guptas taunted about the fact that her Akash bitwa spends every waking minute under the AC...the least they can do is provide an AC in the bedroom where he is staying.

The Guptas if they would have scampered around for the AC and other items and struggled to pay for it.

What did Arnav do? (like I said he could have discussed and explained earlier but he did do so later, Tact thou name is NOT ASR😆)
😆
He realized a need for something, got it home and he is going to let it stay so the other members can make use of it and He is going to pay the bill for it.

The toiletries (ignore the fact that Itna samaan toh I didn't even see in his own room😲), kinda made sense, so not going there😳

I understood that the Guptas felt a bit awkward but decided to keep mum and Arnav too was a little embarrassed cos it then clicked for him that he could have handled it in a better way.

The point his intention was NOT to rub it in to the Guptas.

That is the point Khushi misunderstood again. And I don't blame her fully, remember she is the girl who is in love with, cares immensely for the guy who made her life miserable in office and at home and post marriage too. So for every good Khushi has seen of him and tried to forget the bad, Arnav comes up with something worse, Sad but true

The things he did
(try his best to ) right:

He respects the Guptas and is trying his best to adjust.

All the muhdikhayi scene was okay, imagine if any of his own family member had tried that, he would have EXPLODED. 😆

Here he kept his cool and he actually stood up when they left (ofcourse was it an excuse for him to go back to his room or out of respect, I would like to think bit of both😆).

And he is explaining all his actions to her family ( Ever seen him explain his actions to his own family?)

I liked the RV today...both realizing that their marriage is short term and the tinge of sadness.👏

And it is one month anniversary...shouldn't it have been for Arhi too?

If Payal and Akash remembered their own anniversary, shouldn't they have atleast wished ARHI too?😲

Any how so we now have officially 5 more months left? That gets sorted.😆

And Woah, the sleeping arrangements sorted out and the Batti GUL? (no pun intended)...Gul Khan*wink*

Is there going to be OTT drama about the power or a chance for them to have their moment under the stars?😳

And Harvard-Haridwar, Chain of shops & chain shop wordplay was too good.👏

I am hoping atleast starting next week, we see Khushi see him trying to settle and mingle. And to his credit, he is. I loved the way he asked, Buaji is that you, awww😳

No Creepwa today, has he gone to the keymaker?🤣

And yay, we are finally getting our Khushi back😳

Looking ahead/suggestions/wishlist

The outcome of this Stay at Sasuraal track

I like the 99% of the audience assumed, finally the MU wil be cleared. Watching this week episodes, I am beginning to Believe the Damaad at Sasuraal is not for clearing of MU at all rather it is about strengthening of relationships - Again not between Arnav and Khushi but between Arnav and the Guptas.

Let me explain this:

Khushi right now has full support at RM. They know their Chotay is not an easy person to live with. As much as they love Khushi for her own self, there is this special love towards her that she is married to him as for them she is the perfect balm for his tormented heart.

And hence be it Nani or Anjali in their own way are making Arnav see the real Khushi so he treasures and understands her.

In case of the Guptas, they know Khushi is a Sanka Devi, so somewhere there again is a special respect towards Arnav for marrying Khushi, giving her a new life especially after the Shyam fiasco and a great family at that.

And once again I reiterate, Arnav whatever may be the rocky start with the Guptas has never openly disrespected them.

Here by getting to know Arnav and understanding Arnav, it will be Amma & Buaji who will show the real Arnav to Khushi so she understands and values him better.

Arnav:

Arnav has to know that Shyam was her fiance and their PG and he betrayed the trust of both the families.

With that knowledge, his focus will shift back to Shyam and wonder if Shyam could systematically fool, lie and play with the emotions of both the families, could he have lied about Khushi's involvement too?

Remeber this dialogue of hers during the Farak Padta hai track, when Khushi told Arnav, What my fiance can give me you will never be able to.

Now he will wonder if Khushi had feelings for Shyam at all, do they exist even now or Shyam lied about that too.

For that Arnav and Khushi need to get back to RM and we need more Khushi Shyam interactions infront of the family, where Shyam continues his taunts only this time Arnav noticing Khushi's reactions and her reply back.

My wishlist scenes:

Nani giving an insight to the Gupta Ladies about Arnav

Usually when a Damaad comes to stay, someone mostly MIL calls up the girls mom and explains the likes and dislikes of of her son as much for the fact that he is comfortable and also that this special care taken by the Girls family will strengthen the bond.

I would Love if Nani calls up Buaji and asks about Arnav and Khushi. As 2 heads of the family, Buaji can be frank and admit that she is worried that he is uncomfortable with the conditions and around them.

Nani can then explain to Buaji and Garima that Arnav has always been a bit of loner and shuns any sort of PDA or concern over him. Also since they are family, she can also say that she does not know if Arnav has told about his past to Khushi cos he does not like to discuss it, that both Arnav and Anjali went through tough times after their parents death, how they were thrown out fo their own home and the circumstances under which the brother and sister came to live with the Raizadas.

Nani can shed light on the fact that Arnav has gone through hard times and the experiences has hardened him a bit. But he absolutely loves his family and has a very good heart, it is just that he does not show it or rather does not know how to express it and hence gets a bit uncomfortable with open display of emotions.

This knowledge is crucial IMHO for Khushi to get an insight about Arnav.

Guptas finding out about Arnav paying the bill of Khushi's Dad

It can be a simple scene where the Gupta Ladies take Khushi's Dad for treatment, Arnav has already called ahead and let the hospital people know that his inlaws are arriving, Guptas surprised at the gesture when they find out and somehow find out through Khushi or by a admin staff that Arnav paid for the treatment earlier too.

This will make the Gupta Ladies understand that all his actions are never to intentionally hurt anyone or rub his status in cos he has never openly told this to anyone. Again an insight that can be shown to Khushi and she can count the numerous occasions he has been there for her.

Arnav, Garima, Buaji

I know I am being greedy here But I would LOVE if just before leaving for RM or seeing the effort the Ladies are putting for him OR Buaji or Garima sort of apologizing for the lack of comforts or whatever, Arnav opens up to them in a spur of moment and tells them,

Either
that how after his parents death he and his Di were thrown out of the home by their own chachaji, with nowhere to go they came to live with their Nani and he started from scratch. So he knows the difficulties and he worked hard to reach where he is and now he is just used to the comforts.

OR

Quite simply that he never had any intention of hurting them by his actions and in his own way apologizing that he could hav handled it better as Akash definitely would have.

And a genuine request that if they ever need anything, he would prefer if they tell him directly and not have to go through Khushi, that they are part of his family etc.

Reason for the above: Arnav has always shown respect towards the Guptas and the warmth and love shown by them must have touched him. This would be his own way of telling them that he considers them as a part of their family and hopefully they will too. Also Gupta Ladies will show Khushi, don't go by his words, go by his actions.

Khushi:

(Most important IMHO for the balance of the story to brought back from the one sided love story we have been subjected to of late)

It has to be about how Khushi realizes Arnav loves her and her family despite the CLASS. And the beginning of the realization that here is a complex man whose words contradict his actions. That for me is CRUCIAL to the whole story.

Khushi should realize that Arnav has always been nice and respectful towards Payal and the Gupta Family especially her Dad.

So it has to be a bit of heartbreak to her that this guy loves his family everyone in her family except her. And despite that, she falls all over in love with him knowing the time is very short in her opinion to be with him.

Post marriage we have seen Arnav's love for Khushi come through in so many ways, his blunders not withstanding, we have not seen that from Khushi. Granted Khushi has been distracted by the comedy and the anger/confusion about the marriage, her side of love has not been adequately portrayed for a long time.

When she goes back, let it be the story of a young woman who falls in love with her husband, a husband who is going to leave her in about 5 months, yet the love she feels for him is so strong that this time she doesn't fight it, decides to exit gracefully, except DM has different plans for her.

It can be a parallel story, Arnav slowly realizing that Khushi has no feelings for Shyam and just maybe Arnav is the one who Khushi has always preferred over Shyam and Khushi to finally understand and love Arnav for who he is.

Till the confession or Truth explodes!

*Woah, wrote too much Didn't I😆*

Khushi claims to hate him, claims to dislike him , decides to teach him an unforgettable lesson but she simply cant see him suffering..Knowing that Arnav is allergic to Mosquito coil, she has got another gadget that will keep the mosquitoes at bay ...There is consideration, there is compassion, there is care and there is Love beneath that anger, Khushi has changed but the core remains intact !! ..if only Arnav looked long enough, he would know that he has got a rare diamond as his wife and if she paused long enough..she would know that she has got a husband in a million who would happily give up his life to see one small smile hovering on her lips !! ...Misunderstanding, Misunderstandings which has cloaked them , making their life a never ending night ..when will it lift ..when will a ray of sunshine beam through ??

Exactly my thoughts...lovely post my friend
