I'm glad you posted this ... I don't think your average Jane bloggs is clued up on what constitutes abuse. Nor the fact that subliminal messages through TV shows does at some level get implanted into your psyche. They can deny till they're blue in the face ... but that is a fact no matter how strong minded one thinks they are ... and the classic oh they don't mean me, or I would never allow this to happen ... guess what you can't control everything that will come your way...but you can educate yourself enough to recognise when something is wrong and escape / fix it.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS AND SUPPORT! you have no idea how touched and truly moved I am right now. this is actually the first time I have ever opened up to someone, other than the familiar faces of my sister and my mother, so I'm really happy to have shared my story with everyone 😊

btw, IPKKND is not the only show that suddenly evoked emotions within me, and hence the rant. what compelled me to write here instead, was this thread...I've never seen this before! there are so many shows that I've found extremely disturbing but no one really raised a voice, like this one here. So thank you serialjunkie (sorry I'm new here, so don't really know names) for this.

All those who reached out to my mom, I can't tell her anything coz she has asked us not to talk about our dad to others (that's another story!), so I can't really tell her I've even had this conversation. but be assured that she always has us with her, and I truly appreciate everything she'd done for us. Although I wish she just separated from him; always wondered how life would be then...

@mandymaggy I really hope things get better for you hon in the future... You seem brave...telling us your story couldn't have been easy.. And I want to thank you for that... God bless.

Also a shout out to everyone in the forum, this topic has made an abosolute peagoose like
myself to wake up to the harsh realities and shown that not everything is black and white. A dark cloud always hangs above many of our sheltered lives so thank you to all of you for talkting abt something that's still considered taboo. Perhaps I will still be a hypocrite who will hero worship Arnav but I definitely won't see everything he does through my previously rosy window...

We are apparently labeled nari mukti morcha, nari mandal etc. Since we cannot complain about ASR's behavior because that is exactly how his character is (and what else is new, why are you so surprised - I was asked), how about we refrain from complaining about Shyam's behavior and Mamiji's behavior too, because, drum roll, they are in their character too? why are we pissed about them? we know both of them will change in future too and then it will be beautiful.

This is EVEN better than our original post actually👏👏👏👏👏👏 I happen to drool over Mamiji AND Shyamji, and it hurts my pheelings immensely to see people trash both collectively😳😳😳 I demand that we accept Shyamji and praise his character and enjoy it as "ACTING"😃 He is handsome, good looking and s---- IMO AND its a love story. I LOVE the Khushi-Shyam angle. I hope people will not trash him in future
I only watch the show PRAYING Shyam and Khushi end up together
And Mamiji, with them, will make such a happy family!!!
Thanks serialjunkie for airing my woes in public!
Kudos to you

@firebolt. You have no idea how much you saying this means to this discussion, no idea.
Hats off to SJ for starting this thread, for bringing a healthy discussion to the table, for few to share openly their past either openly or through anecdotes, and for mandymaggy to have shared her life journey and this post of yours is like icing on the cake.
You deserve a 👏 👏👏👏 for this reply.
edit - in case you are wondering who I am, posted as misclog before, changed my username...

Can I post this thread on LM' wall if you dont mind. There are crazy people there too who are glorifying ASR's actions and who think his twitching of his fingers and feeling the pain or loving her later and regretting later is going to make everything all rosy again. And I dont understand why some people think they own this forum and come out to defend one character or the other. We all can express our opinions good or bad that is why its called a forum. If someone not interested in a particular thread they should refrain from passing comments simple. But instead they make so many threads asking people not to bash characters. We all love this show thats why we all are here. People who tell us to grow up should first grow up themselves and differentiate between romance and abuse. I am a die hard fan of ASR too and my marriage a perfect M&B story and its saddening to see CV's destroy such a wonderful character.

Hi Ash, please do it. please post this thread on LM's facebook wall ASAP.

Smriti, excuse me for approving on your behalf (although I have seen your approval as well) but this is a better way to reach out without getting stampeded by mad fans for bringing 'change' to this show.

And no matter what, we all understand this is fiction and 'closet fiction' for many of us. I am quite sure now, no one will actually want to go out on a limb to get themselves in a soup of 'petition'. There is more than we can handle to deal with in real life any way.

p.s. - I would have posted the thread myself, now that I have the idea. But, unfortunately, I do not have a FB a/c.

Its more like they want to sympathize with the girl, Bi*ch about the abuser, and discuss/rant like us here with their friends about the Sh*t being shown on the TV. News spreads as gossip does and more ppl watch it to bitch about it.😆

Also each one of us,as a girl growing up,married ,housewives, elderly ladies, working women can relate to something being shown on TV. Be it partiality,injustice,happiness,sadness,mil-Dil tu tu main main. But what sticks with us is atrocities against us and if that is shown on TV, we tend to see and relate to it.

Every woman is a feminist deep inside. Just the time taken to realize it can make or break her.

Very well said. Crystal clear, concise and to the point. :-)
I would have taken 3 feet to say it though. 😆😆😆
So hats off to you.
