This is an insensitive statement. Do you know the actions of ASR may have dredged up some really painful memories for some of our viewers. Certain things they may have wanted to forget may have come to life for them again. Mental torture can be worse than physical abuse as it can send you mad. I used to watch my step-dad abusing my mom when I was a kid. I was so helpless at the time all I could do was cry. One night he took a machete to cut off her neck but my cousin and I scared him off by saying our uncle was outside the door. That made him drop the weapon and ran away as he was scared of my uncle. I still remember that night to this day. The Island in the Caribbean I came from, in those days police never arrested men for domestic violence as it was not seen as a crime. It is still the same to a huge extent as women are afraid to report it out of shame because people still blame woman saying it's their fault or else the man won't behave that way. They instead ask what has the woman done to cause the man to behave in such a way. There are women who say if he don't hit them then it means he does not love them. I've heard it with my own ears!! Even when my mom had the strength to leave her husband he still stalked her. Eventually she got a divorce migrated and started her life afresh. She was lucky others are not!!
