Right ho.. i skimmed through some of the replies etc and boy is it a cat fight here! Domestic violence is of course a very sensitive topic(as i observed after reading many posts here) so i wont't divulge into that as i am neither married nor experienced it. With that said i just call it like i see it. Is what Arnav doing bad?Unforgivable? Yes and yes. But calling it domestic violence is a bit much,i think. (Note i am NOT defending domestic violence, please don't eat me alive!) I mean he made her sleep out in the cold for one day.. thats all its been. ! a single day! Yes it was a horrible thing.. but thats nothing new is it? That's Arnav's character isn't it? No that does not make it right BUT i dont think he's going to make her sleep outside every night (*fingers crossed*).. i mean he could barely get through one night. He's gone through a lot in one night ( point to note - ONE NIGHT) and so has she. If she wanted she could have screamed, told everyone one the truth etcetc BUT she didn't cause thats her character isn't it? And ya she pushed Arnav pretty hard a few episodes ago didn't she? If you are calling this Domestic violence than that is too i think..(to be politically correct and all that). But in my opinion both of them were acts of passion and completely SINGULAR events and i don't see a continuing trend..(unless you know, its in bed😉) although there may be some angry shoulder grabbing but that was there before as well so if ppl wanted to hate then ppl should have hated from the start... if guys did not have the patience/ time to read my entire rant then,

Bottom line is, you cant call a lion a pig just because it rolled in the mud for a day!

Oh wow I did not realize the thread had taken a life of its own...and am unable to keep up with al the posts but would love to comment on a few...
I had written a detail on abuse in the alt thread that was opened when this was closed so I will not repeat it or may cut and paste...
@fairyliquid...
I did read the posts you mentioned and just wanted to make the point that I did think along the lines Barun Sobti is grown up enough to make his choices and air what he wants and if limits are crossed to take the concerned to task...that he still gives interviews to SBB is telling of where hes stands...
besides...we only know him as a actor and he does do justice to his role and is a commendable performer...and his looks help and I guess he knows all of that already hence his choices the other stuff is not my concern...
@fire bolt I like your analogy going back to the animals if a lion rolls in the mud (which I doubt he would) then we tell him your a lion dont act lik a pig...
the Pig here is abuse not any one person and those who partake are rolling in the muck...
Domestic Violence comes in all forms you cannot term short term and long term it does not work that way...if you think what he did was bad then it is there are no ifs and buts...it seems to be in charactor ie he has a dark sid being a victim of his past (which we are still not privy to)...cruelty in the act of the whole marrieage is tangent...and all the other 'passionate' acts there are the crimes of passion that take its start from somewhere...tho I am not calling it such ...it is what it is...Abuse is not pretty ...and pretty people do commit abuse...
i for one am sorta ok with the telecast of the same keeping in mind his charactor...I only hope they deal with it as in how do you come back from such depths and if it is that Khushi stays it has to be from her and on equal footing you have to deal with it both do...he does need to vent in a better way...its a process and since they ventured to show such..I hope they take time in showing the healing too...not just a kiss it better and forget...

Although I'm a silent visitor/member of this forum, this is the best discussion thread that I've seen here in the last few months.
Kudos to all the writers.

You need not be married or experienced domestic violence, but am sure, you know what it means. If you know what it means, and understand what it entails, you wouldn't equate what ASR did and what Kushi did as the same - domestic violence.
Let me give you an example. A kid throws a temper tantrum and keeps asking his mom to give him something and when mom doesn't answer, he gets mad and throws a toy at his mother. The mother throws him out in the cold and makes him sleep there all night. All night the mother keeps a watch on the kid, but doesn't let him in.
Would you term what the kid did, and what the mother did as the same. If you do, then there is no point in discussing anything any further.

@ tangam right i got that! It is sad to see Arnav's behavior i totally get what people are trying to say- don't defend his actions AND i am not doing that! but what i am trying to say is don't jump to conclusions just yet(singular acts,i still say from BOTH ends) Arhi have been trough a lot and Arnav is NOT the same ASR as he was in episode #1... but yes this is a sensitive topic one i am definitely not qualified to discuss... I am not questioning if this is DV or not i am just saying people shouldn't brush Arnav off saying there has been zero character development from the start or that he's back to square one... because that's not true..On a personal note IMHO he's come a long way and i dont think he can ever put Khushi in pain for too long...

This is really sad that young ladies don't even see anything wrong with what was done. Then again some of them will say they like falling out with their man because the making up is the sweetest part. In other words bruise me, abuse me then lick my wounds with passion and kiss away my fears!!! GROSS!!!

Going by your example say a mother scolds/grounds the child to discipline him would you call that child abuse and put the mother in jail? I dont think your arguments holds as the Mother and Child are not equals in the relationship but Arhi are!!! thats all i am trying to say ... if arnav had pushed kushi around i bet this thread would be even more on fire... No i really get what you are saying OUTSIDE,COLD,BAD. I am NOT defending Arnav's actions.

-edit-
Also Khushi is not a child she didn't have to sleep there... she could have put up a fight( god knows she's real good at doing that!) what stopped to her today?

Good you fell in the trap. ASR and Kushi are equals. So true. VOW !!. He had the power to balck mail her, and they are equals. He had the power to make her, her sister, his brother and entire family cry by stopping the marriage, and they are equals.
You know why I gave the example. To show, it is abuse when people with the power mistreat people who are not their equals.
You know who ASRs equal is Shyam. Becausse Shyam can easily balck mail ASR saying, go ahead tell Anjali, I will divorce her. And that is why Shyam. is getting a second chance. but you will fail to see that as well.
If the mother hits, slaps the child, and if the child asks the mother what he did to desrve the discpline and the mom choses to not answer but keep punishing the child, yes such a mother desrves to be in jail. Only a mother would know and understand what I am saying.

This is the biggest issue, romanticising acts which are serious in nature and extremely sensitive. It's worrying, I just hope those that hold this view understand the line between reality and fiction (I'm not questioning their intelligence) I just hope they know that they shouldn't have to tolerate cruelty like this no matter what the circumstance and no matter who it is. It reminds me of the time when Arnav trapped Khushi in his bedroom they again romanticised a situation which is a big no-no in reality and though SaRun were amazing and I enjoyed the scene in my mind I kept wondering people know that it's false imprisonment right? It's wrong at the end of the day .. that is the key. I hope the writers realise the responsibility they have towards their viewers and don't reinforce regressive actions which some of the other SP shows do or condone them!🤢
