thank you delena, that is exactly the point. The lack of understanding sensitive social issues. This is supposedly a modern drama set in modern times in a modern city like delhi in a family that claims to be modern and matriarchal. Yet, the male member of the family is incapable of understanding the difference between abuse and indifference.

He wanted to save his sisters marriage, he can do so by being indifferent to khushi. Or was his intention to abuse and punish khushi too? And in that case, who gave him that right?

Please dont equate passion with torture, or assume that its ever okay to be treated with anything less than dignity and please, maintain your self worth by waking away from anyone who abuses you the way our "hero" just did his "heroine".

Im sickened.

I totally agree with dat...sometimes dese soaps put strange notions of heroism, passion n love in ur head.

Scenes like d one showed today sometimes give an idea dat Extreme possessivness or abrupt bursts of temper and agression and a hint of violence (in dis case...ASR keeps bruising her hands & wrists)...are signs of undying passion...d larger dan life alpha male.

sometimes we get so caught up in d story dat we start making excuses for d man and believe dat its okay for men to treat women like doormats as long as dey repent for it later on. Dat kinda attitude should never be encouraged. there r some lines which a man shud never cross, no matter however angry he is wit u...Its not OK for a man to treat his lady like shit one moment, den repent later on and den apologize. its just not done. and dats never true love.

Dat having been said, I believe dat it is important to maintain a line between fiction and reality. I love d character of ASR portrayed by BS and would expect nothing less from his character at dis point of time..Hes bin shown as a cold ruthless guy from d very beginning, of course he has strted mellowin down a lot but it takes a lot to thaw a man like dat. D tortured male lead wit inner demons is a pleasure to watch combined wit d brilliant acting skills of Barun Sobti, who brings out d small nuances wit such perfection.

But i dont entertain any foolish notions dat i could ever be happy with someone like ASR, or dat i cud take d attitude dat he is dishing out to Khushi.

What am trying to say is dat..Its important to draw a line between fiction and reality. Certain scenes and sometimes d storyline has put me off quite a lot. but somehow I keep on wtchin d show, cant seem to wean myself away from it and neither do i want to.

I have finally accepted dat try as i might I will never quit d show...I wtch it for d pure brilliance brought in by Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani. As long as dat remains intact, i will continue to watch it. which is why dese days am not overtly bothered by d rona dhona, all d family drama and d cold hearted attitude dished out by ASR. its all fiction at d end f d day.

God, I had such a problem with what happened today, and I am a HUGE ASR fan, to the point where i sometimes react with knee-jerk defence of the "man." And yet today, if I could have reached into that screen-lets just say, his hair would not have been what I'd have chopped off..

You cannot go back and change what he did. You just cant treat another human being, a frail young girl who you know, you dip-shit, is susceptible to illness, oh heck, you just cant treat ANYONE like he did Khushi in tonight's episode. Honestly, right now I don't know how hes going to be redeemed.

Treating someone like a human being isnt a factor of how you see them, or whether, in YOUR opinion they deserve compassion or dignity. Treating people with respect is inherent to who you are. And tonight, ASR proved that he is, inherently, an asshole. No way can you change that. That is who the man is, deep inside. Intolerant, yes, all brooding and sexually hot and tormented, sure But there is a reason Heathcliffe didn't end up with Catherine, and by all rights, seriously, ASR shouldnt end up with this woman either. Being hot doesn't count for jack for the woman if you don't have a heart to go with it. Or, if your ego and hatred overshadows the pathetic heart you do own.

I love how clearly you have said this! 👏👏👏

Su - some of us did point that out too. I am paraphrasing what i wrote earlier. Gul is nothing but yet another business woman who wants a quick buck riding on the same dramatization that sells. 4Lions has chosen to show what honchos at SP wanted and they can happily go cash their checks in the bank.

But it does not make "entertainment". They are preying on our long term commitment to the show. A movie can be immediately banished and declared a flop because the verdict is instantaneous. Yet, daily soaps have loyal followers who are willing to forgive the lapses because we are in it for the long haul. But, showing these types of abusive behaviors by male protagonist neither speaks of their creativity nor of their ability to understand what is good story telling.

Sure, TRPs will rise, but every high TRP drama is not the best in class as evidenced by the most famous SNS.

I completely agree with you - and to point a note her BHPH - the previous serial was not a hit , many people here say barun was not looking good there , etc , etc , but one thing can be rightly said about that serial - no domestic abuse was shown at all. In fact Sony serials in this respect are much better than SP serials .

1. Okay Khushi - I have bashed , I agree and I will never bash ASR upfront - I also admit . So no use of you accusing me again and again.
2. But that doesnt mean - I support all action of ASR or justify him .

1. you should practice what you preach!! If you think bashing a character is wrong, then that applies to all the characters, including shyam.
And, if you apply that logic, the appreciation for the characters too should go to the creatives!!!

2. But i have never seen otherwise.

Like napstermonster aptly put, young girls need to be aware that the fine line between intense passion and abuse cannot be blurred in real life.

Yeah sure..This was posted almost one month ago, so must be hidden somewhere within all the other posts.. I'll try to find it and post here.

I'll tell you what Khushi should have done today, she should have walked out of the pool area and gone and slept in the guest bedroom damning ASR's orders.

I am not sure why the CVs are showing her as such a coward, it is sooo unlike her character. Why is letting herself be abused as such?? Why is she putting up with the pretenses?? Her sister is now married, so it is not as if ASR can do anything about that why is she still listening to him, is my bigger question???

Anne - I read your self respect /no man /nowoman post in another members quote .
I have just one thing to say , many women in the real world bear with all the abuses from their husbands and still stay with them and (pretend) to love and respect their pati-parameshwars because they have simply no other means or nowhere else to go .
For that you cannot label them - "no woman" .

Edit - At the same time, it does not justify anyone to abuse her.

While we have departed from reel here and are talking of abuse...and ASR charactor displaying classic abuser charactoristics...being a doormat is part of the other side of abuse!!!!! even charming witty, self assured girls like Kushi succumb...as someone said if you if your handsome hunk displays...then at the first sign you have to walk away,...cos then it is like a drug in reverse...its etremely harmful to yor well being yet you cannot seem to able to tear away and you do anything to let it happen again...Abuse is a two way street abuser and abused...so both are dangerous routes to follow...well enogh of my preaching but just thought I would put my 2cents in...and hope we can go back to the entertainment part soon I see enough of this in real life to want it to crowd my down time in the cloak of good looking glamourous telly...
By the way Smrithi I love your alternate dialogues and enjoy watching the serial with that in mind provides the much needed laugh factor
@head over heals (Ann??) luv you siggy ...so true yet funny
