I havent watched the episode yet , so put an if at the beginning .

I don't think anyone is saying this is ASR's fault Su. We're all aware he's just a character, but sadly now he's an abusive character, and that is being pointed out with a lot of disappointment from people. He was an excellent character and anti hero, with a natural ability to turn hero at a moment's notice... But yes, the CVs have ruined the avatar.

One thing I AM glad to see, is that the abuser is not some village idiot, because domestic abuse takes place everywhere... In plush home with educated and suave men, as much as in the lower classes around them.

or
2. If you are the only man of the house and Akash has no say on whether his wife should stay on or not, then it is better for payal to be not married to a non-man like Akaash

Major thread stalking at this point BUT this is an extremely valid point, it is the writers at the end of the day and honestly I don't think the realised the IMPLICATIONS of what they are showing on TV. I think the way they tried to execute and even wrote today's scenes were to parallel the first fake suhaag raat moments in Nanital where again there was hate between the two whilst now they were trying to show that element of hate which is being slightly overpowered by love. To highlight that BEFORE Arnav could kick her out and abandon her and sleep the whole night peacefully but apparently NOW that he does cares for her and has admitted his love for her to himself they're trying to show his struggle in attempting to revert back like before and just hate her, leave her but he can't because he still cares for her. I think it was there form of poetic justice or showing the "development" of the story... a parallel to their first suhaag raat - just like they repeated the after GH Khushi lash out or the jhumka scene ...

Yet they missed the crucial point as Arnav is still abusing Khushi and demeaning her as a human being, I really think they failed to realise what they're condoning is emotional abuse. Showing women once married are at the mercy of their husbands ... They probably set-out to raise the intensity of the love-story but they're playing with some extremely sensitive social issues.🤢

what worries me is that a women is sitting at the helm of this ship. As someone in a position of power and influence, is this what you want to showcase to young women around the world? Seriously, I was hoping that this show would be different, and the creatives would take on more social responsibility than spewing this crap.

Su - some of us did point that out too. I am paraphrasing what i wrote earlier. Gul is nothing but yet another business woman who wants a quick buck riding on the same dramatization that sells. 4Lions has chosen to show what honchos at SP wanted and they can happily go cash their checks in the bank.

But it does not make "entertainment". They are preying on our long term commitment to the show. A movie can be immediately banished and declared a flop because the verdict is instantaneous. Yet, daily soaps have loyal followers who are willing to forgive the lapses because we are in it for the long haul. But, showing these types of abusive behaviors by male protagonist neither speaks of their creativity nor of their ability to understand what is good story telling.

Sure, TRPs will rise, but every high TRP drama is not the best in class as evidenced by the most famous SNS.

Frocky dear .
I have never taken garima's name or discusses her in any of my post . 😆
I have never bashed anjali as far as i remember . I have hardly ever posted on her .
Okay Khushi - I have bashed , I agree and I will never bash ASR upfront - I also admit . So no use of you accusing me again and again.
But that doesnt mean - I support all action of ASR or justify him .

Totally agree... It still doesn't make ASR any less of an abuser. She may have put herself in that position, but he has no excuse to treat her like a punching bag then hide that he's doing it. What man does that? A coward who runs around like a nervous wreck because his sister is tapping on the door?

Like those abusive men who hit their wives on the thighs so the bruises don't show... or if they lose it and hit her face, she has to pretend she bumped into a wall. In essence he is asking her to do just that. Pretend and hide the abuse he is inflicting on her. Pathetic scripting.

I agree with you domestic abuse should not be romanticized like this, it ridiculous, at least let her sleep on the damn chase and you can have the bed. This is only promoting the abuse of women, because kushi is gonna forgive him eventually ...👎🏼
