Much as I hate the current track which is Anjali is married to Shyam who is engaged to Khushi who loves Arnaav who loves Khushi but who's engaged to Lavanya who's in love with the idea of being in love.

The more I am watching this serial the more I am understanding how CVs are molding the characters.

Shyam :

CVs has used Shyam as a pivotal character and this guy is so clever that he's succeeded in fobbing almost everybody till now...I feel that the terrible game that he is playing will backfire against Khushi...since he's a lawyer and he's capable of delivering the best pleading the day the truth comes out! And he is doing all this deliberately since he does not believe in any relationships at all since he is very selfish. He is a bad person.

Arnaav:

This character is deep. He is so much in love and he does not want to admit it since he believes that love will render him weak and vulnerable and he hates that. This guy he is totally lost and he hates being guided by anybody. Unlike Shyam nothing is premeditated since he is basically acting impulsively, thus LA-ASR engagement. As for the "engagement" of Khushi and Arnaav at the mandir, well that's destiny and nobody not even ASR can control it, isn't it?.

From my POV, I don't think that CVs are making fun of marriage or engagement in this serial, it's the characters they have created and this is mainly Shyam who is making a parody of marriage/engagement.

I love IPKKND because of the Zabardast chemistry between its lead.

I love the ant-hero Arnav - Barun Sobti is a refreshing change from the pretty boys in TV land

Sanaya is a breath of fresh air, excellent acting and comic timing. She beats many many top heroines in both looks and acting skills.

These two make the show very endearing to me. The rest of the cast is also fresh.

The single most improtant thing I like about the show - There is no FREAKIN BAD WOMAN in the show!!! HOW SWEET IS THAT!!! I mean when all shows are falling over each other to show vamps and bad conniving women, this hsow refreshingly has all squeaky clean women characters I LOVE THAT IPK HAS LOVELY AND CLEAN WOMEN CHARACTERS - sorry for caps but do really want to shout form roof top about this. I watch it because I know I will get women characters who do not conspire and connive. Mamiji is more of a nuisance than addition. I can tolerate her ministrations for a good laugh. The day she does something big, I will change my opinion of IPK, until then, I love the clean, simple women. they are a lovely bunch!

Every show has its flaws but in the scheme of things, this show does not show the kind of crap other serials show. Engagement is an institution embarked on by consenting adults. KKG was not a consenting adult in her engagment neither is ASR in his. So the engagement is a farce to begin with.

How else can CVs bring out ASR to react w/o first creating a provocative situation? I think in this case engagement is almost needed to shake ASR out of his stupor, stop taking for granted that Khushi is his and claim his girl . Khushi belongs to him and him to Khushi. This can happen only when an extenuating situation is created.

Besides, the audience is smart enough to know when CVs slight sacred institutions and when they use it to move the story along. Atleast the show does not try to justify bigamy ala Balika Vadhu or some of the other Star plus shows.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. It was a pleasure reading your justification to support your thoughts. And it was very well written. It appalls me to see and read posts where ppl just tend to forget that every individual has their own thoughts ...but unfortunately some use condescending and offensive words because they don't agree
with an individuals opinion...I feel free speech is very one's right.

I usually refrain myself to get provoked by ppl who are offensive and don't reply.. But it was a pleasure reading and writing to your post.

1) Yes people like Shyam do exist!!! ...n u don't have to go searching for them...please pick news papers or watch news...every other day u will find such cases where brides have been duped...n these so called grooms have run away with their property...money...n worst of all stripped these women of their self respect !!! Shyam was/is actually n extremely intelligent person he targeted the most gullible person in the household ...buaji...n incidentally buaji was influential too...had Khushi's babuji been healthy such a situation would not have arisen...

2) Yes ...as of now it does seem like he is getting away with it...n we will see some bleak times ahead ...however...good sense shall prevail...to glorify good we need evil around !!!

3) Yes the dramatic engagement meant that no matter what we mortals might plan...n want to execute...we are still mortals n the forces high up still write our destinies n we have no control over that...also it also meant that the gods have blessed this union...

4) Yes...ASR...ufff...u no this is probably one character on the Indian television which has been shown to have flaws...u no like all of us are...i mean normal people...hate...anger...immense passion...jealousy...guilt...possessiveness...,...frustration...everything...he has not been shown as a demigod...n that is he is not the conventional hero material...he is dark...handsome n is flawed...his insistence on an engagement with LA is because he is afraid to face his own self...he has lives a life deprived of love...affection n laughter n colors for sooo long that he is afraid to find them again in his life...n since Khushi is bringing all that back he is backing off...with LA he feels no such emotions...he feels SAFE with her...in fact he feels nothing with LA...hence the hasty engagement !!!

Do u btw watch any other soaps?? Which is ur favorite?? The amount of crap that is shown in other soap sometimes can actually physically repulse you sometimes...so let's not get judgmental here!!!

The CV's are quite smart...we have been constantly surprised by them so far...so let's not just pass a final verdict now !! Also, lets also not forget that not only the CV's but alot of other people earn their daily bread n butter though this...would they jeopardize that?? Nooo...i dont think so... !!

My intention here is not to bash up any1...I'm here to present my sentiments n am sure a lot of people would agree with me on this...lets keep the forum clean n not bash...lets reserve the bashing up when it is actually needed...lets appreciate the hard work the team is putting in to entertain us n not make them feel that we are an ungrateful bunch of viewers...afterall this is a soap...n that too an Indian soap...it has to run for years...if everything happen in two weeks...what will be left to watch...

Lastly...if u feel that it doesn't excite u anymore...im sure you will find many more options are available...please feel free to choose!!!

Peace n cheers!!! luv BS n Sanaya...n team IPKKND

Very well said. Agree with you.

a] this is definately not a new trend, theres forever been a track about a douchebag guy that somehow cons the sweet girl into marriage and then screws with her life.
its a typical show plot.

b] theyre not degrading marriage, idk how you think that. as far as im concerned theyre just showing what happens in real life, maybe its a bit more dramatic and some scenes are like SERIOUSLY? but the concept and basic plot are simply real.
the cvs are showing you how people get trapped by situations and sweet words, how some people can stoop real low, how the past affects behaviors etc etc its just life.
