However this is India which is still the most regressive society in the world. A society where dowry exists, arranged marriage business thrives, women are expected to ditch their old parents & tolerate all the nagging & nonsense of their in-laws. What they showed yest is regressive but also true. This is v realistic coz here women are killed (honor killing) just for falling in love. Here we are talking about premarital sex & child born outside wedlock. Its a huge taboo here. So as much I appreciate ur thoughts what the CVs showed is also a true reflection of Indian society. Cant fault them for that!

Hi Angels11, Thanks for your reply.
I know India, I am a part of India, I live and breathe the culture and love it.
It's flawed from a lot of angels and we need to change that, we need to call bullshit bullshit.
If a show like PPK on Sony can shut down for being regressive and downright illegal, we can call a track in a TV show wrong too, I don't by any means want IPK3 to shut down, it's heartbeat for fans. But the CVs need to know their show is not watched by dumb wits who will believe in such themes blindly.

You have the right to choose your husband and no lady can let any man to touch her inappropriately by blackmailing her, Its unfortunate that both the writer and the producer are women and they show women as helpless, spineless and stupid.

No man how drool worthy the male lead is , it is unacceptable for me to watch a show where women are treated so disgustingly and insulted by the hero.

This show is no less regressive than Peherdar piya ki. No women will accept such a man in life. So every man will abuse the women and then redemption. Truly such men can go and hang themselves, society does not need such characters such as Advay Singh Raizada.

Sorry guys... this show is an insult to all women ! We are strong and beautiful and know how to keep away from such leeches...

I get your sentiments, I was so pissed off seeing the character assassination.
How does revenge mean you have to take advantage of another person solely on the basis of attacking her femininity.

But anger aside all that I want to portray from my post is: WE ARE STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL AND WE KNOW IT.

Some people's mind set is still not changed. I agree with that. At the same time, some people are thinking in the right direction and we all know that.
Why did Chandni still think her mum will die of shame if the truth about Meghna's child comes out? Nothing has happened when the extra marital affair between one sister and the husband of another sister came out.
In fact the other sister behaved as normal as any women from a progressive society behaves. She has done nothing wrong, so, her behaviour is perfectly fine with me.
Chandni should have learnt a thing or two from her massi and should have told her sister about the baby and made the family understand the situation. That would have been Nayi soch. Alas we are not going to get that, are we?
Cheers...

True words my friend, true words.

A woman is her own best friend and worst enemy. She has the choice, she can choose right.

Suddenly all plots seemed to be on a standstill and attacking the femininity became the central theme
what happened to finding your brother, what happened to your sister romanticising her jijaji. I think something's messed up BAD.

I like your thoughts. 👏

Here I kinda sympathize with the CVs. Indian TV audience is a hopeless bunch. Already TRPs r not grt & they are trying desperately to attract TRPs. Hence all this rona dhona Abla Naari act in the past few days. So they cant really show progressive stuff.

ALL I repeat ALL Indian serials are regressive shit. They may start out to be modern, progressive etc. Then slowly either they ll change track for TRPs (DABH, Pratigya) or they ll simply end the show (Ek Hasina Thi, Everest, Dahleez, POW).

That's why I dont watch Indian serials. Watching this only coz I like Barun 😊

@MentalExotica - I will give my complete view,so that it does not seem like I am expressing one opinion in one thread and a different opinion in another thread...I can see why advay is going this regressive way for his revenge, regardless of what he thinks about a child out of wedlock, what matters is what the society around chandni thinks about this. That is important for his revenge.
I agree that attacking chandni's femininity is what is wrong with this revenge plot...I have always thought so...because since the start advay has sexually intimidated her...that is what is wrong with so many revenge stories imo,why do they always go after her femininity?Does a woman have nothing else in her life of value to her that can be snatched from her? What they are showing is that it does not matter if you are 12th pass or a sanskrit scholar...you can have only one thing of value in your life.

But seeing that they have chosen to go this usual femininity route,I can see why advay did this...he might not necessarily think it is a shame but he is only taking advantage of the society chandni is a part of...that is what dark characters are supposed to be I guess...heathcliff toh even raped his wife,no?

But if advay is doing what he has to do then even chandni should be shown doing or saying something...she could be shown telling advay that even if what he thinks is right it is no big sin...alas chandni does not share my views.

We are educated but you can't ignore the fact that alot bunch are uneducated even educated person are more uneducated
I will give you some example of real life situation
Poor people have no choice they have to give dowry because there is no other way round for it but rich people give dowry with their happiness as my one uncle who is cheif engineer and his daughter herself a professor gave 50lakh dowry with one BMW and whole marriage function on his own money worth 20 lakh and much others
On social sites it's easy to tell this that and it's even easy to think as I have said earlier and someone replied
It's very much easy for us who have never faced anything critically me this
In mensuration we can't go to temple I don't believe in this but it's very tough for me to go temple that time even if I want to break I am not able to
Anyway leave all this coming to the only topic which you all are talking
II am also in favour of wioman becoming mother without marriage but i will not do it i will support them but i myself will not because I believe that a person should do anything if by going against society then they should have guys to own it
I don't understand why people are bashing advay and were justifying chandini for hiding the baby
She always tell this is right wrong but when it come to follow she is the first one who not follow those
TWO THINGS WE SHOULD AKWAYS REMEMBER PREACH WHAT YOU PRACTICE
AND ALWAYS STAND UP FOR YOURSELF AND SHOULD HAVE COURAGE TO OWN UP YOUR DOING AND ACCEPTIT AND READY TO BEAR THE CONSEQUENCE NOT TRY TO BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR LIFE
HIDING OTHERS WRONG IS MORE WRONG THAN DOING IT YOURSELF
AND NEVER DO ANYTHING ONLY FOR OTHERS DO WHAT YOU THINK WHAT IS RIGHT
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE SELF RESPECT IF YOU DONT RESPECT YOURSELF THEN HOW ANYBODY WOULD RSPECT YOU
AND IN CHANDINI THERE IS NO SINGLE QUALITY SO I NOT FEEL A SINGLE OUNCE OF SORRY FOR HER
ADVAY HAS DONE ANYTHING WRONG IT WAS HER FAMILY WHO WAS WRONG ALWAYS AND HE ONLY USED CHANDINI WORDS SACH TOH SACH HOTA HAI AUR SACH SIRF EK HOTA HAI
ANYWAY I THINK I HAVE WRITTEN ALOT BUT ALL OF THIS I WANT TO SAY ONLY I JUST DONT FEEL SORRY FOR CHANDINI AND ENJOY THOSE SCENES WHERE SHE IS JUST STANDING OR BEING SLAPPED

Agree with you, @mentalexotica . This is izzat crap is pretty regressive specially at a time when there are more and more single women in society. The argument that it is just a soap does not stand. Soaps, films, series reflect the society. And everytime a hero uses the concept to shame a girl...it reinforces the whole idea that single women and single mothers are s**ts. Soap or not... The task is to show its wrong, to question the mindset, not use a handsome hunky hero to reinforce that.
Coming to the soap itself, advay is a professor, supposedly (he doesn't seem one from any angle) which means he is educated, enlightened person who would have some progressive ideas. But zilch. How come this supposed professor's mindset is full of such crap? .

Even if he is using it to shame Chandni for revenge is there no other way than to use and reinforce on her for such regressive attitudes.

And alas, howsoever much spunky the heroine is, she becomes a true Hindi soap heroine when she becomes a quintessential doormat. Chandni with all her ideas and confidence is going to take it, feel ashamed and weep. That Her family has done the same and she is suffering for that isn't a part of this argument. Why? Because they are bad people who are meant to to be cruel, and regressive. They are not meant to be admired. But the story, the plot, indeed his role as a hero justifies Advay for spouting and using this izzat crapand chandni as a good girl should feel ashamed and become a doormat- that is problematic

So no, there is no way that this izzat crap can be excused

I agree with u! Advay's thinking is so backwards and the show is god damn regressive! And before people jump at me, it was very obvious that advay was pissed about her being a mother of a child, and now for him to feel bad he will have to find out that chandni is not the mother of the child?? otherwise he has no conscience?? even if she slept with another man what is it to him? such god damn losers!
