i may be the only one here who is disappointed in the new way the show is going.
When i had pointed out that the story may move to mumbai yesterday i was told that it was mere speculation. i kept saying what the problems i would have with the revamp and i was told to give it time.
well i feel disappointed now for hoping. and it is my fault too. i was expecting too much from an Indian tele soap. my expectations were too high. not to mention in today's time when people are so influenced by what they watch on TV it is too much to hope for creative liberty to exist in order to create a dark love story.
there cannot be stories like GOT or revenge on the Indian television today because everything is seen here with a moral perspective. most people understand that actions of the characters are in the universe of that story line only and will not be acceptable in real life.
there was a time when it was allowed. no matter how much we curse ekta but she had shown the guts to have shown her heroines have a child out of wedlock or have her characters be rape victims and fight against the society to get justice. she set a certain standard.
i had expected gul to do something similar too. set a standard in the dark romance gerne in today's time with this show. something like gone with the wind standard. but she has reverted back to mills and boon story line from what i see of today's episode.
now coming to today's episode. it felt so different from what i had seen in the promos. i wish actually that my friend had not recommended this serial to me so that one day i would come across it in the future with out any high expectations and watch it for what it is.
i don't hate the serial by any chance nor will i threaten to quit watching it. i may just not watch it as regular as i used to. Gul does do Mills and Boon storylines well and i may later get used to it and over this phase of disappointment.
i'll leave this post at that. i shall always remember this show for all the potential it had if not anything else.
