Believe me, it takes more time to imagine, create ,pen down stories and upload than just hitting the like button and leaving feedback - so I hope you will appreciate that . Without much ado, here it goes :
Chapter 3: The Agreement
Gauri came out of her reverie when she heard her phone ringing several times.
"KT flashed on the screen.
She decided not to pick it up, wiping her tears; she marched out of the office.
She got off the car and rushed inside the building as fast as she could. She was very late. A crowd of photographers who were waiting outside surrounded her and started clicking pictures, Ms. Sharma' they were calling out to her but she kept walking. The ABC film studio was not very far from her magazine office but she had left it too late to leave. KT had been waiting for her impatiently. As soon as he saw her, he rushed towards her.
"Gauri. Where have you been? I called you so many times? Why didn't you answer my calls? KT was angry and concerned at the same time.
"Sorry. There was an emergency at work, you know how it is. I am here now Gauri tried to calm him down.
Their interlude was interrupted by a formally dressed lady.
"Sir. M'am. We are ready for you
"Sure. We are coming
Lights. Camera. Action.
The director yelled and a spotlight was aimed at Gauri and KT sitting side by side on a couch with the hostess sitting opposite them.
"Welcome to Meet the celebrities' episode 12 of this season. Today we have with us, Miss Gauri Kumari Sharma, a very accomplished Editor-in-chief of the lifestyle magazine Being You' and who doesn't know Mr. Kaali Thakur, a self-made millionaire with a huge media empire. The hostess spoke to the screen.
Then she turned to them.
"Miss Gauri, how do you feel, being so successful at such a charming age and engaged to the media tycoon, Mr. Kaali Thakur. It must be a dream come true for you the hostess asked the first question.
Gauri was still lost in her thoughts, thinking about the message she had received this morning, the memory that had come flooding back to her system and the decision she had made before coming here to the studio. When she did not answer Kaali looked at her and nudges her softly "Gauri he whispered.
Gauri came out of her reverie. They re-took the shot, the hostess repeated her question.
"It feels wonderful. The success of my magazine is very motivating and we are really looking forward to the wedding she smiled at Kaali who smiled back.
" Great. And your fan following is excited about your wedding too, they have many questions. So, tell us, how did you meet?" The hostess continued.
" Nothing mysterious about it. Gauri was at the same conference as me, I was sponsoring it , and she was representing her magazine. I saw Gauri's speech about her magazine, saw her interact with a few of my other guests, invited her to dinner. Its that simple. But she didn't agree easily to marriage though, she did make me wait a lot and plead a lot" this time KT answered, smiling.
"Mr.KT has two grown children of his own. What are your thoughts about having a baby? Are you planning for a family the hostess asked the next question from Gauri.
Gauri was taken aback a little. She didn't expect such personal questions. But then she knew there was no way out of here, the media will turn it into a circus if she doesn't reply , so he gathered herself and smiled.
"No. KT and I have an agreement, no kids. We are happy just with each other. I believe if you have children you have to dedicate your life to them, and we are heavy-weight professionals as you know, married to our respective careers. Gauri smiled.
KT smiled and pitched in "I second that. We have the perfect deal.
After a few more questions, the interview was over, but Gauri was troubled about something. KT didn't notice it, he was too busy on his phone.
"Listen Gauri. I am flying to Dallas today for a deal and tomorrow I am in a conference in San Francisco. I will see you in a few days KT gave her a side hug and they entered two separate cars.
